I always use shampoo's, gels etc that aren't nice on skin to clean the bath, sink & loo withSaves the stardrops for another job. Actually as shampoo is designed to get grease off hair, and shower gel/bubble bath off the body, it's very very good at bath tub rings :rotfl:

I'm another who uses shampoo for cleaning the bathroom!
DH thought a bit of retail therapy might do me good, so he took me to the White Rose Centre where I single handedly kept the economy afloat for another day. I was happy to be able to get the M&S food offer because I never shop there these days. I also got some summer clothes just hope we need them this year. I'm shattered now and was planning to go to bed after tea but we just had a call to say some friends are coming over. I love to see people but why does no one ever come when the house is tidy or when I'm not feeling so awful. One of life's mysteries.
Diva, love to you and Tristan.
BB,Spike is a great name.
Hugs if you need one.
Have a nice evening.0 -
Went to see my friend, admired the baby and had a little hold....he is lovely, she was very pleased to have the cable........I got stuck behind an elderly gentleman travelling at 35mph, I could not get passed him.....so it took me twice as long as usual to get through Melton.
OH was ok whilst I was out, the chap came to the shower, but the chappie to the heating has not turned up, typical.....I really am a bit fed up with the council, its 13 months since we reported that the thermostat was not working correctly.
HM fish and chips for supper.........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

.<<Little bear woke up at 2am, finally settled at 4am. He was cold, poor little bear, but I cannot convince him about blankets.>>
my youngest DD was a terror for blankets and anything on her and I solved this by making a pop-in blanket that I attached to the front with a couple of buttons and the back of her babygro's/pyjamas with velcro. It kept her warm and although she wriggled a bit at first she soon got used to being warm This was in 1969, and we had ice on the inside of the windows in those days no CH or heaters at all in the bedroom, far too small. Even a cut-up flannelette sheet will do and just sew the sides up. I left enough room so she could kick her feet and stand up in them. She is 40 this year and still doesn't like a lot of things on at night ,perhaps why she has five children:rotfl:

Breakfast - Pineapple juice, Cornflake and Frostie mix, Lady Grey Tea
Lunch - Pineapple and Wensleydale cheese, cheese biscuits, sesame crispbread, banana and syrup pudding with custard cream - need cheering up.
Dinner - soup and bread
Going to start using up the food and running down the freezers.
I want to get rid of a load of CDs but Ebay CD prices are peanuts. I also have a load of old curtains (I started a thread about them). How many old towels and sheets does one keep as well?
Feel tired today, it's got so cold again, after getting milder.
Been looking online at houses, so trawling houses and driving past them from now on (again)An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
:j We got consent to lease:j . It's going to be a tight 18months but I'm so pleased we can let the flat-the price has to recover a little bit before I retire (that's in 40yrs when I want to sell it!!). And it's our dream house.
Feeling generally better today, worried about results but I can speak and write in complete sentences now! I hate hate hate talking on the phone but I rang the consultant's secretary and asked how long results take (just so I know) and she said 2-3 weeks.
Love to everyone who is suffering.0 -
Jackie - that is a great idea. It may slow him down at night (or not!). I think I will start with velcro. His is such an active little bear, but he should at least slow down at night!
His heater is working again.
MrsMW - I actually live quite near to the White Rose Centre and have been once or twice with little bear, but the buses are really tricky. Some are buggy friendly and some are not. I don't feel a great attraction for it because it doesn't have 'rummagy' shops. It does, however, have a Sainsbury. Little bear sends multi coloured hugs.
Also, someone posted about Sainsbury. When I do mysupermarket comparison I always end up with Mr S being the cheapest for the products I buy. I really do think it depends a great deal on your purchases, but it is worth looking. I find their quality quite good as well, for their basics, which surprised me.
Also I have just realised that little bear has switched off the downstairs baby monitor so have to go and find it.... :rolleyes:Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

Got back from the hospital about an hour ago, its still really cold but not raining now.Coming back I noticed that lots of grass verges are just thick mud, I have never noticed it before, well not so bad anyway, it must be because we have had a really wet winter so far.
I have been really naughty....we bought a french stick (couldnt resist it) and had butter and jam on it ooooooo it was lovely
Fish, chips and mushy peas for Dinner, wont be yet though not after the bread and jam
MrsMW and SunnyGirl - me too, it certainly does a good job. I get so much bought me Christmas and Birthdays its a shame to waste it
LW - you just cheered me up.... Fang Farrier :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
coldstreamalways - good news on the flat :T
candygirl - hope you feel better soon x
Kathy - its so annoying when you have to wait for them to "remember" isnt it,
Peyton - I agree, OS is more than cooking and cleaning, its giving your time and expertise in any area that can help whoever needs it, and listening, feelings, support and caring are definitely a big part of the whole OS thing, and I hope it always will be :A
