OS Daily Fri 30th Jan 09

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 30 Jan. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread that we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we have achieved already. Everyone is welcome so please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well”, type start does just as well.

Morning. Wet and miserable here. Over an inch of rain fell last night, with 20mph winds and mild temps. I bet it's really sludgy out there.

The old beer and curry evening went well and I made it home in a reasonable time. OH got a bit annoyed with beer and curry breath and then we fell out and so that was the end of that. It's not like I go out every night? Once in 2 months. It will all blow over.
Court today, should be my day off, but have to go in. Some guy being sentenced for waving a gun about in ASDA, hoping that Police would come and shoot him. They did. but not with a live round but a plastic bullet. Still frightened the whole store of people and was locked up instead.

Going to a freinds tonight for food. So a good weekend in store. Not much money saving going on. lots of money spending.

Cheers folks

Hi N9EAV - I hope you're out of the doghouse soon!

No rain or wind for us here but freezing cold. They've warned of dire weather from Saturday afternoon with 'the coldest winter for thirteen years', so we shall see. I hope they're wrong - I was rather hoping Spring was on the way!

Dinner tonight is steak pie with roasties, roast courgettes and carrots, and gravy. Pudding - who know? Maybe bananas and icecream.

Bargainbird - I hope you're managing to get some rest!

I don't know whether to do my big food shop today or tomorrow. DH is off work today because he has a lot of running around organising things for next week's work, so I'll wait and see what he is doing first. May as well save petrol if he's going near where I want to go!

I hope everyone has a good day today and (((hugs))) for those who are sad, anxious, unwell or nursing sick family members.

    See you later.

    Morning all,

N9eav had to laugh at the curry & beer breath. :D:naughty:

Bargainbird - Congratulations. I hope you & DS are doing both well. What a great day to be born on. ;)

Stinking hot today. I've finished all my packing and got everything done. DH is mowing atm and DD is asleep. We set sail tomorrow at 2pm but knowing DH we'll get there at the crack of dawn just in case.

Well if I don't manage to get online in the next 2 weeks I hope everyone has a great time cooking, cleaning & working. :D Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Good morning everyone :D

Just having a few minutes surfing of MSE before I have to get out of bed and start my day off. I love laptops and wireless broadband ;)

I say 'day off'. It's looking like it's going to be busier than going to work . After dropping OH at work (to save fuel) I'll be going on a trawl of a couple of supermarkets (to save money & spend it), then coming home do some baking (to save some more money).

Big (((hugs))) to everyone who needs one today and have a lovely OS day everyone :D
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

Morning N9eav, Moiliere, Aussie Lass & all who follow!

Cold and wet here too unfortunately. Plenty to do today - I want to clean the windows, do a bit of ironing, hoover through, dust downstairs, change the 'kids' gerbils, do a water change on the fish tank & make some soup for lunch  I'll work through it all. Wm on its 2nd load of 3 - I'm sure that it breeds in the washing basket ;) there didn't seem to be that much last night.

Breakfast today will be cereal for kids & porridge for me. Lunch is spicy lentil soup & dinner is stuffed baked potatoes with beans. Pud, if they want any, will be yoghurt or fruit.

Have a good day everyone. Still thinking about those who need it :A

    Morning All

Freezing here today but dry. Will be happy if it stays dry this weekend.

Boring day today - paperwork this morning then housework this afternoon, should be able to sit down this evening in a clean house with everything done bar the ironing.

Was going to have salmon fillets this evening with new pots and garlic butter but am going round a friends for a drink so dont want to smell of garlic - may do something with sausages instead.

OS - loads of stardrops and white vinegar will be used today along with loads of energy!

Off now for a surf and need to do my scratchcard. Have a great Friday.

Nice to see you Annie, hugs to PP, Smokey & anyone else in need.
I've just dropped hubby at the station, he's only doing half a day so he'll be home early probably, he's been phoning BIL about his wages, but not getting any reply funnily enough.
I'm off to work soon, still very busy I have about 1000 sheets to laminate, we only have a very small laminator, I think it's about 30 hours work, lets hope the radio is working, it wasn't yesterday.
It's going to be a very tight month this month as I only got my basic wage because of the Christmas hols & we will probably have to wait a month or 2 for hubbys wages, still we battle on.

    Breakfast - porridge
Lunch - egg sarnies & panetone
Tea - beef casserole with dumplings

    Have a good day everyone
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all,

Aussie, Have a great time, relax and dont drink too much xx

N9eav :rotfl: :rotfl: at the beer and curry breath, with my OH its normally the other end I worry about :D

Off to work today early finish so not too bad, then dd is off to a party tonight, its a teen party at the local fun warehouse, so we will have hours of hair and make up preperations  .

DD has has a bagel with juice and a kiwi for breakfast, I will have a banana and yogurt later, OH has has a cuppa  .

Tonight we are having fresh spagetti with a couple of salmon steaks grilled and flaked into, with hollandaise sauce and cheese grated on top. Not always a cheap dish but I got the salmon ys to 49p in sains, and the spag and sauce was reduced too, so not a bad price fopr a meal.

Need to have a swish and swipe before work, dw needs to go on, and I shall get a wash ready to put on tonight.

Well better get on, have good days all, hope bargainbird got some sleep xx

    Morning all

Sorry it's a short one, don't feel up to writing much today. Didn't sleep at all last night, I think OH and I have reached the end of the line. I just can't take any more of the way he is treating me.

Hope everyone has a better day than I will be having.
