  • mudgekin they sell american cup measures in Asda and they're not very expensive either. I think mine cost about £3 and they are stainless steel. They look like little metal pans with handles.

BB what a fab name. I love it. Big congrats coming your way!

As always big ((((((hugs)))))) to all who need them.

Well its wet, windy and truely miserable here today! Having a bad Arthurs (what I call my arthritis) day. Got up with DH at 6 and went back to bed once he had gone to work which is something I never do. Am starting to notice a pattern that damp/wet weather seems to really bother me. My hands are particularly bad so doubt there will be much OS going on today, actually I doubt there will be much anything going on!

Payday today for both if us :j :j :j think this is going to be a pretty tight month but hey when isnt these days! Was full of great intentions of going to do some shopping but feeling the way I do I am going to have to wait until DH gets home from work and see if he will take me. I absolutely hate not being able to be independent!

Need to think of something easy for dinner, by easy I mean DH friendly, hes a bit clueless in he kitchen bless him! Lunch for me will have to be toast as its the only thing I think I will manage given my hands.

Oh well suppose I should just look forward to a day on the sofa whilst its so miserable outside!

Hope you all have a lovely day

    Linz xoxox
Its hard to wait around for that something you know may never happen, but its harder to give up when you know its everything you ever wanted.........

People tell me Im going the wrong way..............when its simply a way of my own!

To save you buying the cup measures, here's the recipe I stumbled on (before discovering this site). It has measurements in grams.

    http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/1859/chocolate+pudding

It's basically the same as thriftlady's although if I remember correctly hers won't have egg as her DD is allergic to it. I offer it only as an alternative - I'm sure thriftlady's is better!
  • Hello everyone.

Just popping in again to see how everyone is and I hardly recognose anyone. There must be alot of new posters.

Life has been very quiet here since Christmas. I am looking after my sister's children less than before as her health has improved. Either that or she has just been getting used to the Lupus. She's very brave and never complains and I am very proud of her. :o

Supper tonight is sausage casserole with my own crusty bread and apple crumble for dessert.

No other news so I'll pop off again.

Congrats to BB on the birth of Spike.

  • Morning friends,

Tristan is still in his coma. The Drs want to operate on him though they are worried he is too weak - the decision has to be made in the next 24hrs. I want him to pull through but I can't help feeling that he would rather drift off than possibly either die on the operating table or survive just a few weeks and then the inevitable happen anyway. I feel so bad for his family having to decide what he would want...

Anyway, please do continue with your prayers and thoughts, they mean so much. 145008001233002931-final.gif

Hockeyduo - so sorry to hear of your loss honey. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Congratulations bargainbird.Sounds like a strong healthy boy you have there! Hope you are not too exhausted already.
aussielass - have a great holiday hon
anniestar - I was just asking about you a couple of days ago - so glad to have you and the !!!!!!s back
Pen-pin - I would like to say I can't believe your mother would get angry when you have been so ill, but unfortunately, I have experience of that kind of mum too. please don't let it upset you too much or you will just feel a whole lot worse and you didn't do anything wrong.

My poor OH ended up in bed with a migraine last night. He managed to get through dinner which was mash and the lovely stew we had cooked in the slow cooker, but that was it. He had to cancel his gig and working today the poor thing.

I am so tired. I go to bed and then my head starts going round in circles and I can't shut it off. OR I fall asleep quickly but then wake up virtually every hour. Still, at least I don't have to try and work, I can rest if I need to.

Not sure I have anything OS to report so I hope people will forgive me.Tonights dinner will be the rest of the slow cooker stew.

Warm gentle hugs to those who need them

Just sneaked on for a quick look at the thread. I am supposed to be finishing a big project for work today but my work laptop is so slow it's driving me mad!

Thanks for all your kind words about my IVF yesterday. :j

Bargainbird Congratulations on the birth of your son. Spike is a great name, it reminds me of that vampire off Buffy and I love books and films about vampires, demons etc. Mind that new Demons on the telly is rubbish.

Not much OS getting done today with my work deadline looming. Washer on and not sure about tea as we are both out seperatly. I am going to the gym on a free pass with my friend. I used to be a member of this gym and loved it, especially the pool, but I moved branches with work and it was too far to go when I finished at 7pm. Now I am working from home I might sign up again but only if they can do me a good deal. :money: Since I stopped going I have but on nearly a stone and a half. It doesn't help that my new job involves eating restaurant food at least once a week and I can't say no to the desert menu!:o

We had a takeaway last night as OH goes to get weighed at WW on a thursday. He has lost a stone in 3 weeks:T . When he woke up this morning he said he felt like he had a food hangover. He is so used to all the OS meals I cook it must have been a shock to his system!

Take care everyone and (((hugs))) to all those in need.

Also a question for Thriftlady, can you freeze the choc pudding fudge heaven on earth that I'm now drooling over cake? It's either freeze these desserts or I'm going to gain 10 stone!
There's a thought:think: I've never tried it Peyton as I find it disappears pretty quickly (there are 5 of us). I'd definitely give it a try. I'd reheat it in the microwave else you'll end up overcooking the saucey bit.

I expect you could halve quantities and make a little one;)

I've just been to the oriental supermarket in Worcester. It was fun- the lady in there was really helpful and friendly (I do like good customer service). I was looking for miso paste which they didn't have -at least not one without msg. They did however have a huge range of wheat noodles which I haven't been able to get in supermarkets for ages. I also got a massive bottle of sweet chili sauce and another huge bottle of Kikkoman soy sauce plus some shaoxing wine for cooking.

Then I called at my local Sainsbury's where I hardly ever go, and they had miso paste. In fact I was really impressed with them, I had 3 chaps helping me to track it down and they were so friendly and interested in what I was going to do with it. Such a nice change from Tesco. Think I might alternate Waitrose with Sainsbury's now.

Anyway, I'm going to make miso soup for the first time for my lunch with some noodles and veg in it.

I'm boiling up a whole packet of kidney beans (for the freezer) at the moment so the windows have steamed up:rolleyes:
