Happy Valentines day to all
25 week check up: had mine the other week and it's pretty standard dull stull really... Doc checked BP, urine sample and had a prod of the bump and listened to the heartbeat. Asked if I had any questions about anything, gave me my MATB1 form and prescription for more Gaviscon
Think that was about it really... Have my 28 week check with MW on the 26th where I expect much more junk leaflets etc and when they will take bloods again (yucky) and I expect lots of proddingDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Morning everyone, Im 37 weeks and looking to you peeps for help and advice,
My Husband got made redundant 3 weeks ago, they went into admin so we wont see his dec commition or his jan wage and commition for quite some time if ever, and he is still waiting for his notice money. he went to the cab and they told him to apply for job seekers, not the income based one, which he is now getting but aparently we cant claim for anything else, not even the maternity grants, or council tax benifit. (we have a mortgage in my name) so at the moment we are just surviving on my part time wage, however in 6 weeks we will just be getting stat mat pay, is there anything else we can do?0 -
I'm sure you must qualify for something more, but possibly not until AFTER the baby arrives... for now have you tried http://www.entitledto.co.uk/ ?
Once the little one arrives you should be entitled to child tax credits I think as your house hold income will be very low...
I don't suppose your husband had any income protection policies - either independantly or some employers have them through the benefits like BUPA and pension (my employer has one but I also have my own income protection policy independantly through another supplier).DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! yes tried entitled to, going to ring the family cab on mon to see if there is anything weve missed, we dont have any insurance or protection we can use, it makes me mad that after both of us being employed and paying tax forever that we may now lose the house 'cos we cant afford the council tax.
 and there are people on the next street who have never worked on £400 a week with no rent or council tax to pay.
sorry for the rant, its just not the best timing, emotional with only 3 weeks till due date.0 -
Unfortunately paying tax and working hard doesn't guarantee anything these days... That's why I've got seperate policies. You should be entitled to more but unfortunately it's probably not going to be until the baby is born.
I would suggest you post over on the Debt Free Wannabe forum with a full statement of affairs so that the guys there can help you and advise you on what steps you can take now. There are some priorities that you need to look after like mortgage and council tax, then comes utilities and any unsecured debts like loans and credit cards are totally not important now if you have anyBut pop to the DFW board with all the details and you'll find a wealth of information
