elle - not sure when from but as with my incident at the hygenist (lying back in the chair for 15mins) The baby put pressure on a main blood supply and made me pass out (I was lucky that there were other people around!) They rolled me onto my side and this relived the pressure and a while later I woke up (feeling very groggy
) I normally sleep on my side anyway so it doesn't really bother me...
lol I love cereal in the middle of the night too!
Molly - glad your scan went well!
wtg tia - didn't take you long to get the car sorted!
Hello to everyone else - better go and spend some time with Dad and DH!0 -
Hi all,
Happy birthday hugs and cake for Feelie!Hope your day got better, hun.
MrsT, how did you get on?
AF, when do you start your mat leave?
My day was uneventful really, apart from when I had four cups of tea in less than two hours and I think the caffine sent the baby doo-lally as it didn't stop spinning (or that's how if felt) for twenty mins solidColleagues told me to stop tormenting the baby
Hope everyone's had a good day
Hi Elle,

Hi ladies!
Congratulations Auzelia! He was a biggun wasn't he!
I had my scan today, all is well down in babyland in the depths of my tum, baby was wriggling and moving, and being awkward about the positions it was in for the Nuchal fold measurements! Was amazing, unfortunately the photo she gave us was terrible and you can barely see anything, bit unhappy about that but at least i know bubba is in there and seems to be happy and healthy! Well done bean!
I've finally joined the FB group and I'm just trying to get to grips with who's who! Weirdly enough it seems i have 2 friends in common with Skintchick! Small world!
Tara: Sorry your scan wasn't what you wanted, maybe it is worth making a complaint and seeing if you can get another scan, or maybe you could go for a private one to get a longer scan and a better experience all round? is that an option?
REally? Are they MSe people? I have a couple of MSe peeps as friends. PM me their names!! I wanna know! Is it likely we have non-MSe friends in common?
I'm still reading through all the pages of chat, but thought I'd post. OH has gone to bed so can;t stay on long.
I've had a rubbish week. I had a scare the other morning when I noticed a red rash on my bump. I called the MW and she said I had to go to my GP and get my bloods done 'to test your liver function' so of course I had a google and it was so scary!
I was in floods of tears driving to the doctor and when helooked at the rash he said it was nothing and refused to do bloods.
Then I burst into tears again, because someone had said to me the previuos day I wasn;t big enough to be 17 weeks and I got all scared that somethign was wrong, so the doctor felt my bump and we listened to the heartbeat.
He said 'that's the most normal and healthy foetal heartbeat I will hear all day' - ha ha! It was probably the ONLY one! :rotfl: But it did make me feel better.
So today I did something I've been putting off and off - I bought some maternity clothes. OK, only one pair fo trousers from H&M, but I didn;t want to do it before in case I lost this baby and it was all for nothing, so it feels like a big step for me.
But overall my week has been awful - work has been stressful, I lost my temper with someone and was fairly rudeand to top it all I've had a letter from the DWP about the month when I was off work and claimed JSa and they will only give me £6!!!!
They seem to have got me mixed up with someone else cos they said I can;t claim beyond Dec 13 but I didn;t go to the jobcentre till Dec 19!! Such a nightmare and I can;t believe it. THey owe me £240! All my life I've paid tax and this is what I get for it
I feel fat and frumpy and my skin's dry and itchy and I have a red rash and I can;t feel Bubba move even though I'm nearly 18 weeks and when will it be summer and, and and ...

AF, I'm fine, thankyou
Hope you are okay after this week and are getting to wind down stage with work! Did you say they are getting someone in to cover all of your job, or is it being shared out? When do they start?
MFD, I've looked at The Sun website now and seen the photo with the mum too.. Oh lordy! Btw, when I said he looked about 8, that was a guess - then I noticed The Sun said the same thing! He's so small too not just babyfaced..
Sami, can see you lurking! How was your day at the zoo (and the inlaws!)?
My mum's been round tonight to drop off my post and my prescription (she lives nearer the docs than I do so she does the fetching!). She confessed that when she'd seen the GP last week (she's got a frozen shoulder), she'd asked him about how often they should be giving me blood tests for my thyroid. She meant it as a general question, knowing he couldn't tell her anything about me, but he was quick to open up my records, have a gander at my results and explain them to her! His words were "oh, she won't mind!"!! Luckily, I don't mind - she knows it all anyway
He even gave her another blood test request form with my name on it and no date so I can request a test anytime I feel like it if I don't think I'm getting them regularly enough! I've got more tests booked for two weeks time, then the results discussion with the consultant the week after, and then a 25wk appointment with the midwife - is it then that I have the blood test on my iron levels too?0 -
LOL Gaviscon.. the only liquid you have to eat! :rotfl: _pale_ _pale_searching_me - that must be it then! I knew it was a boy last time because my legs got uber hairy - must be the extra testosterone!!
...
Edit to say I just requested to become a FB member of

I'll go accept ur request for the group in a mo :cool:My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »searching - have you tried carmex?
It is in a little white tub with a yellow lid, it's medicated and it is fab.
It's not cheap over here I think but it is really worth it.

I'm another "bad" mummy that used wipes in hosp  they are soo much easier than faffing with cotton wool
I didn't go to the zooOH decided we wouldn't be able to fit everything in (Which was true because he faffed about so blooming much ) so we went to the blue planet which Chris liked but IMHO is a complete rip off! (cost more that it would have to get in the zoo which is muuuch bigger) weather was lovely tho wasn't it Mel
I felt really sorry for the otters tho, they were shoved in a tiny enclosure like they'd been forgotten and cried constantly
I love wildlife and I know that how they were behaving was completely un-natural I had tears in my eyes over it!
I'm now wondering whether I should brave the half-term crowds and go to the zoo next week with my Mum coz she's on half-term too
oh Tine maybe a comprise would be that you only had to go into the office once a week to stay "networked" with ur collegues
I'm feeling a bit poop coz Chris in at M&FIL'sits the first time he's stayed over and I don't like it *stomping foot smilie* the house for some random reason was absolutely roasting (I actually put a thermometer in Chris's room, in which the radiator was switched OFF and it was over 24oC!!) I switched off the heating and opened windows in BIL's room coz he is out for night and didn't want any beasties or a cold draft coming in while Chris slept but really I just wanted to say sod it I don't want to leave my baby here with you and run off with Chris:o
but I can't seeing as he has stayed at my mum's more times than I can possibly remember and they have really been trying lately even got a stair gate and put it up ready for when we arrived. - Their cats now dislike Chris even more coz they can't get passed the gate so can't snuggle up on M&FIL's bed anymore0
