Sami, can see you lurking!
How was your day at the zoo (and the inlaws!)?
...
He even gave her another blood test request form with my name on it and no date so I can request a test anytime I feel like it if I don't think I'm getting them regularly enough! I've got more tests booked for two weeks time, then the results discussion with the consultant the week after, and then a 25wk appointment with the midwife - is it then that I have the blood test on my iron levels too?
hehe i was compiling that mammoth post!
7 or 8 blooming pages I had to read through! I just can't skim/skip I have to read them all!!
according to my notes iron levels or Full Blood Count to give it it's proper nameare taken at booking in app and 35ish weeks thats it!
EDIT Aww just spotted the val day pic of martin wearing a heart badge that says MSF - Bless!0 -
You stole my line!!
..
I know, I'm sorry - I make no claim on my originality! You weren't here and it had to be said! At least I didn't call it LS like you usually do
Why's Chris at the inlaws? Supposed to be a birthday treat for DH?Doesn't sound like that's what you've got planned for him!
When you getting LO back? *stomps foot in sympathy*
I'm dreading my LO staying at my inlaws.. They have an open fire, huge scary dog and MIL smokes which I can't stand the smell of..Now I'm getting upset thinking about that too! Obviously in comparison, my parents' house is perfect

Hmm.. what goes on at the 25wk appointment then? I've got a list somewhere.. can't think where I've seen it though (book, leaflet, scrap of paper, etc etc!).
I know I'll get my HiPG (is that the right name?) and MatB1 forms, and I've got to remember to ask about that FSA book you mentioned earlier in the week.0 -

They just got fed up of waiting to be asked I think :rotfl:Don't tell OH but I have turned down invites previously because my mum wasn't free to babysit
My mum's house was/is more child friendly just by design really, its smaller and all carpets except for in bathroom and MIL isn't very maternal - she's the first to admit that it was FIL that did the most for her boys when they were tiny (it's him that will be mostly looking after Chris coz MIL is at work for 7am 2mo)
My mum's mum smokes and OH put his foot down and refused to EVER let Chris stay there for more than just the usual as a family visits but I suppose it will be harder as its a grandparent in ur case not a gt grandparent. I don't like smoking but if I went back to work it would be said grandma that would be the best to collect kids from school as the one we want to send them to is just round the corner from them, I think he'll relax the rule a bit more as the bubs are older tho.
I am a big "dog person" but I'm not sure I could trust anyone else with a dog in the house to look after my baby esp as a few of the recent child being attacked by dog stories were at grandparents/aunties etc0 -

Well if you are lucky ur MW will have the form for HiPG  I've got 25wk app on the 17th so will be asking for that and MATB1 apart from that I think its just the usual wee, BP and feel/listen. I'm hoping my MW has a dopler - I think Chris discovered one whist trashing the room last time we went!I feel like I'm the only one here who hasn't heard her bumps heart beat
I've "seen" it on all 3 scans tho :T
and my first thought after "bless" at MSF was I wonder when the big day is0 -
Ah yes.. I was thinking L for liquid, but then a solid version of that is again just too icky to contemplate! _pale_
(pregnancy brain moment?)
Inlaws dog is a 18 mth old german sheperd who bites the arm of SIL's 3yo and drags him across the floor - they call that affectionate! My parents' dog is a 12yo border collie who is soft as a brush but I still know my parents wouldn't leave baby alone with (we've seen what the dog does to soft toys!).
OH wants a big dog but I want a little one - the type he refers to as "a rat on a rope"
ETA: Midwife was at least aware of the HiPG stuff when I saw her at 15/16wks cos she said she'd fill the forms in for when I next saw her. I've been reading the thread on it and I suppose I should just be grateful my midwife has at least heard of it compared to some!0 -

to be honest I think your best of with a nice compromise of a medium dog
I absolutely love English Springer Spaniels (a bit biased coz we used to breed them) but only would recommend for an experienced owner not a first timer as they hare VERY energetic and need good training and lots of exercise to keep them from being cheeky a bit of a poo pic but this is Roxy who we used to breed from
Right I've got heartburn and a booger of a head ache that isn't fading so gonna get off to bed now xx0 -
I want one like this
OH wants a German Sheperd cos that's what his family have always had. Since I've been little, we have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a Heinz57 rescue dog (we think he was collie/airdale-ish) and now a Border Collie.
SIL has Great Danes which are bigger than 6ft when they stand up on their back legs (with front paws on BIL's shoulders). They charge around the house with no regard for what they mow down in their way! Don't even get me started on the thought of taking LO to their house!
Night night xx
I'm getting peckish. Haven't had proper tea but late tea reminds me of Feelie.. Hope your birthday got better hun!0 -
Morning all:hello:
Late pregnancy insomnia- anyone else suffering? MFD? or are you knackered from work ending and no nursery furniture yet?! (me either by the way!:o)
So now I'm here feeling gloomy because (on a different thread) someone let me know in no uncertain terms that the name I've chosen for my baby boy is a crap one. Felt a bit sore about it actually. Yesterday was my grannie's funeral (I lived with her from when I was 8), and because MW had advised me not to travel I didn't go.
A lovely MSE friend threw a little party for me to take my mind off it and now I know that the big wide world will not probably have nice things to say about my baby's name! Oh the things that turn over in your head at this time of day!!!
Anyway, gloomy rant over!:o
Hungry now but lovely OH has bought ingredients for smoked salmon scramblies later, so desperate to hang on and not spoil it. Our last valentines day as just us!;)
Love to you all, and hugs for anyone who wants them:D,
Weezl x
