  • Happy valentines day everyone!

Considering we'd agreed not to bother, I got woken up with breakfast in bed of bacon and heart shaped eggs.. A toblerone and a bunch of white roses... And a home made card off Aimee that said she loves me so much :D

For thos asking about the 25 week check, mine was a waste of time! No forms, MatB1 or HiPG, she did my wee, blood pressure and I did get to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time but that was it... Didn't even ask if I had any questions!

Aimee's off to my Mum's later, she's got my cousins stopping too... Rather her than me... But she offered! They both smoke aswell, which is not ideal... But at the end of the day I can't dictate what she does in her house and Aimee likes going there, I couldn't deprive either of them.... I'm sure she'll go back to smoking in the kitchen once the baby comes along....
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

LOL Sami - Kira is infact a GSD/BC cross :) And I'm a firm believer in dog training... great danes CAN be gentle lovely dogs around babies BUT they are big... and clumsy. They rarely mean to knock people over but they just forget them there long legs need lots of room and stuff :) I love them but I'd say they are too clumsy to have around babies no matter HOW nice natured they are :)
As for dogs and babies - NO dog should be left alone with a baby but I'd honestly worry more about having terriers around babies than my GSD/BC cross... or even a rottie or dobie - which is probably the next on the list for us :)

BTW SIL just called OH to say she's pregnant again - this will be number two...

    Morning all.. :o

:heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls Happy Valentine's Day :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls

So much for going out early! I fell asleep on the sofa, woke up at 5am, was in bed at 6am, then woken up by OH's colleague phoning him to tell him something about work at 10am. We said we'd be up and out for 11am.. and I've just woken up again! :o Going to turf OH out of bed now...
  • TMI Information/question warning!

I'm looking to get a pelvic floor exerciser thingly to sort my pelvic floor muscles out after baby arrives as mine are shot! I try to go my exercises but constantly forget and probably aren't doing it right anyway. So I was thinking of getting an electronic exerciser which I suppose are a bit like the idea of a tens machine so I can plug it in (so to speak! lol) and it'll do its best. I don't want to lose all control of my muscles especially as these ones can fall out of my body!! I never knew they existed until my nan had to have her "nip and tuck" as we call it and after my DS1 was born. Maybe it'll improve things in the bedroom as well?! (I've not got a bucket crotch so to speak but it should hopefully tighten up a bit!)

This is what I was looking at:
    http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=23508&callingViewName=&langId=-1&catalogId=10552

Has anyone used one or can recommend what to use? I'm so glad you all aren't real so I can ask these questions!!

    Claire, just the person! :D

Can I ask, where did you go for big baby stuff - furniture, pram etc? I've got Moisers and Ramsdens in Gy and Mothercare and Toyr 'R' Us in Hull on my list. Is there anywhere else I should be looking? Thanks lots :)

Obviously, I ask all this as a random from cyberspace and not someone who lives five miles away from you ;)
  • I went to the Tesco baby event today, It apparently started a couple of days ago. I bought:

Thanks Mollie - will check it out.

Claire - no idea sorry. You've just prompted me to start doing some thou!!

Well, the nice long lie-in went downhill - phone rang at 9am wrong number, then postman knocked at 10 with a parcel for OH from his mum. Mega !!!!ed off - especially as I don't know what is in said parcel!!
Apparently, OH was talking to his mum the other night and she asked how the baby fund was going (no-one knows about Bean yet), OH had said fine and that we might start picking up a few little bits if we see them cheap.
MIL 'It's bad luck to buy anything before 6 months', OH now panicking - told him it doesn't matter that we've bought stuff. I'm not massively superstitious - I salute magpies and start to worry if I see one on it's own but that's about it. Oh yeah and ladders - maybe I am a bit. But I believe in buying a bargain when you see it - because you can guarantee it won't be around when you want it.

Been reading til 12.30pm, just had honey on toast and trying to find the energy to get up and do housework and go to ASDA.

I read that you shouldn't eat cook-chill meals - stupid question, if I get a curry from the curry bar in ASDA and reheat it properly I'll be OK won't I????
Fancy the hot and spicy version of chikken tikka masala

I think it's the risk of not reheating something properly/enough and not killing all the bugs (potentially listeria) that's the problem.

As long as you heat it to proper piping hot - lots of steam coming off it and so that you have to leave it a while to cool again before you put any in your mouth (avoiding the risk of melting the roof of your mouth!) - my midwife said it was okay :)

thanks both - elle, yeah i think it was in the section about listeria.

    I'm such a moron, I know - it's not like I'm not going to cook it properly:rotfl:
I just get really paranoid about everything I eat and drink now.

Right, the washing machine has finished - told myself I would get off my !!!!! at this point and finish cleaning the kitchen and doing some housework.
