    Claire, just the person! :D

Can I ask, where did you go for big baby stuff - furniture, pram etc? I've got Moisers and Ramsdens in Gy and Mothercare and Toyr 'R' Us in Hull on my list. Is there anywhere else I should be looking? Thanks lots :)

Obviously, I ask all this as a random from cyberspace and not someone who lives five miles away from you ;)

Elle_gee: I was lent a cot for DS1 which has now gone back and I have acquired a Mamas and Papas cotbed for bump (it only cost me £20 with the mattress!!)

I'm using a chest of drawers as a changing table (multi functional!) and DS1's wardrobe is built onto a bulkhead from the stairs which is in his room. Both were handmade by FIL.

I got a travel system from mothercare for DS1 which then broke and went back and I replaced it with a Chicco Winter London buggy and new car seat from Kiddicare. I've since got my hands on a double tandem buggy again a Chicco for free from that Don't dump it website I mentioned to you. We've also been given a car seat from a friend for bump.

Ramsdens if worth a look but can be more expensive, if you just want ideas then mothercare online is fine but you'll need the bigger store to have a good look at the pushchairs/prams. There is a toys r us in s!!!!horpe if you are out that way near the tescos at the A18/M181 junction.

What I would say is if you are going to use a chest of drawers as a changing table then you don't have to just restrict yourself to nursery furniture as long as it is sturdy. A plain set of drawers (e.g. without having winnie the pooh carvings in the wood etc) although cute could be used for a lot longer and if you want it to look baby-fied then just change the handles. I kept the furniture plain so I could have stickers on the wall instead (£10 from B&Q) and easily changable.

I wasn't overlly bothered about the pram/pushchair as I just wanted one that worked and I was too tight to spend a fortune!

Sorry not been much use really have I!

Well DH is slaving away in the nursery painting the walls bless him :) Initially when the pain went on we thought  that's dark!! But now it's been on and dried a bit longer and there is more of it it's not so bad :) It was just the contrast to magnolia that was a bit of a shock to the system first off I think :)
MAYBE if I'm lucky we'll even get the floor sorted tomorrow ;) then I can start prodding him to put together the crib and changing table thingy :)

I was a bit like that when we painted the living room walls, we went from calico to warm beige... Looked like someone had thrown a chocolate milkshake at the wall... But it's growing on me...

We're off upstairs to sand the bedroom walls down and paint the woodwork in a min... Although the Xbox just went on... One of hubbies workmates dropped a paste table off today too... He's contemplating having a go at papering himself... He's never done it before but I have... I just don't fancy being up a ladder 6 months pregnant hanging paper....
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

    No, you have, thankyou! :D

Is the baby stuff in Ramsdens in the big store or the toy store? :)

I just want to have a gander and a play for now.. The pram I'm looking at is RRP £550  but it's £400 on Kiddicare so I want to play somewhere else then order it from there if I like it :D My parents are paying - Mum's been putting all her Lotto winnings in a seperate account since I got my BFP (beginning of Nov) and she told me last night it's up to £450 already!! :T

    TMI Information/question warning!

I'm looking to get a pelvic floor exerciser thingly to sort my pelvic floor muscles out after baby arrives as mine are shot! I try to go my exercises but constantly forget and probably aren't doing it right anyway. So I was thinking of getting an electronic exerciser which I suppose are a bit like the idea of a tens machine so I can plug it in (so to speak! lol) and it'll do its best. I don't want to lose all control of my muscles especially as these ones can fall out of my body!! I never knew they existed until my nan had to have her "nip and tuck" as we call it and after my DS1 was born. Maybe it'll improve things in the bedroom as well?! (I've not got a bucket crotch so to speak but it should hopefully tighten up a bit!)

This is what I was looking at:
    http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=23508&callingViewName=&langId=-1&catalogId=10552

Has anyone used one or can recommend what to use? I'm so glad you all aren't real so I can ask these questions!!
Claire DONT buy one now, ask for a refferal to the physio department now and once baby has arrived they will more than likely give you one for FREE :money:
My sis is a physio and gave me this clever insight ;) My referal was sent off at my booking in app as part of a new system they are running for 2nd+ timers in my area but all MWs/GPs should be able to do this for you :D
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

Oooh weird, I have just finished reading that thread and was coming on here to warn you girls about them!!!

We all went out for lunch today, it was lovely. I am still so full though I don't think I will be making the planned curry tonight after all!! Ds1 is still asking for food though. He had Pizza and chips, ice cream, a BIG bag of quavers, 2 cans of coke and then a penguin bar when we got in!!! he is as skinny as anything but I don't want him getting fat, nor do I want to leave him if he is actually hungry:confused: I have bread cooking now which will be done in an hour so will make him some sandwiches!!

Sami - The blue planet is a rip-off....you get around the whole thing in half an hour, it really isn't worth the money.....Sorry you didn't get to the Zoo. I am wondering whether to take the kids the Zoo in the holidays too, or maybe get my mum to take them, seeing as I will be 37wks next week!! I am not sure if I am up to walking that distance!!

    claire -

if you can brave your GP and a referral to the hospital you can get things to help with pelvic floor from them - the weighted cones/ eggs (well, you can here) Don't know if anything else, but I guess there might be. Worth a try to save the spends :)
