Feelie - the story is really old but has suddenly popped up again - I'm not sure why, unless she's done it for a 2nd time
She talked about it when she was on "This Morning" which was around october time last year I think

Hehe, oops! Someone posted it on a pregnacy forum, I didn't check the date! Seems like a nice thing, anyway. I'd like to donate milk (assuming I can breastfeed!) but there isn't any milk banks near me.

Unrelated, I phoned Midwife today, she has given me the number for the ward manager, who is on holiday this week. If I call her next week, she'll be able to find someone with experience of PTSD who can help me write a birth plan and prepare for labour. I figure if I know what to expect, and what I need to tell them, it'll be less stressful all round.

Don't worry I didn't actually look at ur story, but when I switched on today there was a story about it on yahoo news which I read.

Good news on the birth plan front :T

    hi feely,

i think that is a really good idea.

i like to know where i am going and what things are going to look like so i dont panic. i have always been like this. before i did my work experience when i was younger, i went into town with my parents and we walked to the where i would be working so i would be 'slightly' less nervous on the monday.

i had just done a tour of my hospital on saturday so when i got sent straight up there yesterday, the only relief i had (amongst my worry of what was going on) is that i could picture where i needed to go.

not sure if that makes any sense or helps, but i thought i'd share :D
  • Feelie - can you ask for extra ward visits and delivery suite tours etc too?
I have been to ours twice now and I feel much calmer about going in because I have seen it a couple of times IYSWIM.

For anyone who was thinking of ordering (or has already ordered) the Easyfix base for the Maxi-Cosi from Amazon - just be careful with the delivery dates. I ordered mine on 6th Feb and the delivery is saying between 6th March and 28 March  NO GOOD WHEN I AM DUE ON 2ND MARCH!!!

So we will need to go and buy a base anyway  Pee'd off about it but I really don't want to leave it to chance that it might arrive before Bubba does (I will end up panicking if I do!). Will donate it to my pregnant neice if I end up with 2.

A word of warning that quite often nursery furniture and prams etc can have a lead in time of 6 weeks too...

Well MFD I wouldn't kno about the base because MIL hasn't ordered it  because "it feels too early yet" Glad it's her that will be paying upto £30 more for it and not me! she is such a bint some times! She recently bought a chair bed for Chris to sleep on that cost just under £300  then she asked about a stair gate and I showed her the one My mum got for £15 in asda (and told her that that is a good price and poss still in store) and the next day I got a "I'm pleased with myself" txt saying she'd just got it off ebay for £21.50  It's like she enjoys throwing money away!
I'm not even sure Chris will sleep on the chari bed coz we can't put a guard on it so I don't want him falling out of it!

    and relax aaahhhh
