Morning all, not been on for a while :o
well im doing well at 13 weeks (i think) scan will confirm dates on tues, its come round so quick!! starting to feel 'normal' iykwim, eating loads better and not so tired as before, eating fruit till it comes out my earholes, you couldnt get a piece down me 5 weeks ago unless it was curry based:D . Been looking for an outfit for my best friends wedding on 28 feb and cant find anything, size 14 to tight now, size 16 too big and maternity clothes....wot maternity clothes, cant find anything that is lovely and reasonable for a wedding!!had to have next size up in uniforms for work, the poppers were starting to pop open on there own free will, exposing my undergarments to the patients....very funny!!:rotfl: ?

I have bought this for a wedding I am going to in Italy in may when i will be 28 weeks

i agree there are not many clothes out there for when a pregnant woman wants to go 'posh'. that dress is only available in an 8 which is a shame but the site has one or two nice things on it anyway.
Edit to say I am not an 8 i am a 16 but i bought it at christmas just in case!

I know u don't get a 4D scan on the NHS but it says this on the site for where I'm thinking of goin for my 30wk private one
"We are able to perform 4D sexing scans from 16 weeks onwards. Sexing scans are 97% accurate."

Off to catch up now but just before I do Krystal or anyone else Have you come accross any info on skin2skin for siblings that aren't twins?

When DD1 and then DD2 were born, I was working four days a week and they were both in nursery three days a week. Now I'm a SAHM and DD1 is in reception, and I worry that the what I consider to be excellent 'education' DD1 got at nursery, DD2 is missing out on now she's a little older because there's no way I could do as good a job as at nursery!

I think there are pluses to being at home with the kids, and also for them going to nursery. Having said that, the only place I'd be happy sending DD2 if she were to go to nusery again was the same one they both used to go to when I was working. A lot to do with knowing the nursery nurses there and having faith in their abilities, having seen them work and also having them round to babysit a few times.

Seeing MW in a bit. Should be for a check up (am 39 weeks!) but am sure subject of 'encouraging things along' will crop up, due to fact that DD2 was a planned HB (as is this baby) but because she was so late (3 weeks) she was born in hospital. So hoping to avoid that by gently encouraging baby out...

I'm sure some of you will know what I mean when I try to explain this... I went into spontaneous labour with DD1, but not with DD2, so had induction, and so I've been constantly wondering whether I will labour myself this time. I think in a way you almost doubt yourself and the abilities of your body to do what it "should" when it doesn't happen with one baby.

It also means I have no idea how to expect things to go. DD2's was a fairly fast birth, with a superfast second stage, all quicker than DD1, but I am sure the speed was almost wholly due to having my waters broken. I know I have a really fast second stage anyway, but it's the first stage I don't know what to expect of. I know of course no one really *knows* ... but I wonder about it so much, Hope that makes some sense!

jacksons mum - did you get the chance to tell your OH tonight?

    Night night xx

hi, thanks for asking, yes i did tell him, he didnt really say much, i think he was pleased though. maybe he was a bit suprised (although we were trying), maybe he will want to talk about it more tonight now its had time to sink in.

i went on a website last night which someone posted the link to on here and it said you only get SMP if you earn over £90 a week, which i havent been earning for the past 18 months, does anyone know if i earn £90 a week from now on i will qualify? It also said i was entitled to 26 weeks leave, but i thought it had gone up to 9 months?

Jo, you can do as well as any nursey but just need to make sure they get the social contact too. All they need to know for school is letters (sounds not names) and numbers. How to spell their name. A liking for stories is a good start for learning to read. How to dress themselves and personal hygiene. How to take turns and respect for others. The teachers prefer they haven't been taught too much as it's harder if they have. The most importantthing is being able to think for themselves, when they ask in school for lets say scissors, our reception teacher will turn round and ask where do they think they will find them or can they think of a way of finding them. A child that has been fussed over has a huge shock and believe me I've stood in the class and watched them wander around lost. You will probably find you have taught most things without even thinking.

Jacksons mum do you earn £90 a week BEFORE tax though :)

If not then you might still qualify for Maternity allowance

In answer to the if you earnt £90 from now on... no sorry :( you have to have earnt it for 26 weeks into your 15th week before your due date... so basically before you fall pregnant :(
