Pete, you're being a bit obvious 2/10 must try harder.
Thanks. It was my intention to be obvious.
My response to unsubstantiated judgements was not meant to be subtle.
But then everyone's entitled to judge. Hopefully wisely and thoughtfully.
And who's claiming to be a bastion of maturity? Was that you Bamber or someone responding to you? Mature people do not announce themselves. That's part of their maturity.0 -

Pete, I really don't know what it is but when plants come on here from websites and companies that have been given a bad press there's just something in thier post structure that gives them away straight away, you exhibit this certain je ne sais qua. It's silly really, you wont get any customers here when respected members have sampled WIV and suggested they are nothing special. It's funny, a true wine aficianado would never dream of purchasing wines from a mail order company, rather they would drink recognised prestigious wines or recommended vinyards so they are unlikely to join, this leaves the casual drinker who is merely interested in the "effect" and that there is at least a pleasant taste, oh and that it is cheap, so there wont be much custom from this group either. I honestly suspect if WIV simply took their wines to shops and didn't add a BS premium they'd make more money, less per bottle but more overall.
I've consulted the rules of maturity handbook (given to all bastions of maturity) and it would seem you are incorrect.Bought, not Brought0 -
Well done Bamber! You can't fool a couple of Scotsmen with that patter!
Ha,ha Pete and aromulus you must be working from the same Company0 -
I'd be pretty annoyed if I ran WIV and saw what Pete wroteFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

I never hidden the fact that I work for the company.
I am quite proud of it.
I don't know who this pete68 is and if he professes to enjoy our wines, so be it. Let him. To each his own....
Unfortunately lot of people are prone to pre-judging and I happen to respect others opinions.
I just pop in to have a look from time to time, here and in other sections of this site, for interest only. As I am also interested in saving money...:D
But as wine and food go... Well, that is another story...0 -

It goes to show, innit.....?0 -
I posted a few comments yesterday to portray a few facts about WIV, but my post has now been deleted.
Am I not allowed to say a few words because I am an employee?
My basic points were that yes we have an unusual way of marketing our wine, but we have have 50,000 active clients in Australia stretching back 35 years. So admittedly we have only a small market share.
Having a personalised wine tasting in one's own home or office is not what most people want but for our clients it is what they want.
They enjoy the experience and like the wine.
My favourite part of the job is the people we visit. This week a lovely group of older ladies bought a case between them. They had a great time :-)
I presented our wine to 9 brand new clients this week and 6 of them chose to order. Most of them will continue to get wine from their vineyards, or bottle shop. Our wine simply compliments what they already do.
