  • We too have just received the free sampling and binnocular offer from WIV.
An inspired choice of gift we feel allowing all 'potential' customers to see them coming. Alternatively, as a few customers appear to have experienced, if you look through the other end of the binnoculars you will see how far away your wine is after ordering it.

Thanks Voyager2002, I also received the binoculars offer and also buy from Laithwaites. So don't think i will be bothering to pay double the price I presebtly pay, just for the chance of getting a pair of binoculars.

  • Just been made redundant and having seen an ad in my area for Pieroth Wines sales rep, I thought I'd check them out on the net.

With a successful background in sales and a healthy interest in wine, this could be my perfect career change?

It does seem that this (and other) forums aren't that impressed with the overall quality/price of the wine but if someone is bringing it to your house or office, someone else is paying them!

After a bit of research I won't be joining them, especially as they employ anyone icon12.gif

Remember, the best salesmen/women get you to know you want something without you knowing you wanted it. The others just tell you you need it!

ps. only joined to post this. my name is a "winepun" icon10.gif

Searched on google for WIV and came to MSE. Had a letter myself this morning, don't think I will be taking them up it :D
Looks well dodgy anyway, no information on the leaflet, I was very suspicious to start with
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.
  • Just got the letter myself - Binoculars and "a sampling of 6 specially selected high quality wines" which I read as "6 bottles of plonk", but thought - too good to be true (although I have taken Laithwaites and/or Sunday Times WineClub up on a similar offer before and not regretted it) - so googled WIV and found this thread straight away - thanks for saving my time, and wallet!

    Cheers

With all due respect, I wouldn't dream of doing anything of the sort.
I have enough business going on, even in "January", that I don't need to tout on here, or anywhere else.

By all means, feel free NOT to reply to the company's offer, it will save the rep some mileage and give him/her the chance of an early evening at home.

Still going strong.... And exceeding my targets...
Lots of people out there that are not afraid to pay for a good product.
I don't knock supermarket wines, I just don't like them myself.
I might not be able to guess what grape I am drinking, but my body lets me know straight away, by way of immediate heartburn and acidity, if the wine is worth anything to me.
