    Good Afternoon Cif.

    Did you enjoy your Pancakes?

I never had any in the end.
Didn't buy any unfortunately. Saw a pack of 4 giant pancakes in the shop today but the moment had passed
  • :T Hi everyone, I'm looking for a 0% balance transfer card to shift some M & S money over to. Have been turned down by Virgin, but then discovered that a change I requested to my Credit Report (Experian) last September (being on electoral role for 18 years at previous address, one year at current) had not been made.... grr.

Anyone know whether that error really would have dished me in with Virgin? Also, does anyone know if Tesco are likely to accept those with a less than perfect credit history? All advice most gratefully received...

  • grrrr, after getting a "you've been provisionally accepted, please provide id" letter from Barclaycard, i phoned them to check if my ID was ok to accept. She said after sending that letter, my application went for a second review and declined

Well I bit the bullet and tried with the post office as this was one of the few who use only experian data, no surprise to note that they couldn't give a decision online but will write within 5 days with an answer hmmm think I know what that will be.. Am now convinced that experian withold data from your credit search that only companys see.
Either way wiill keep you all posted on progress.

Thank you for the welcome Underground. The problem with my address is that the house was two cottages, so Royal Mail therefore have two addresses for the previous two cottages, and the third address is the house address that the landlord leased it to us under, but that isn't registered with Royal Mail. Complicated I know.... Any advice?

    Hi

It'd be worth contacting Royal Mail with this query, they may create a new address, I really don't know.

What address do you have listed on your electoral papers and council tax documents? (needless to day don't post your address on here!)

If you're planning on staying at your current address it's definitely something you need to sort out in preparation for any future applications.

    Regards

    Hello Tef,

There's a few that only use Experian, see here:

Info is supplied by people (including me!) who have applied for something then reported which agency has been searched.

Good luck with your PO application, I got declined by them last year!

    Regards

Got my welcome pack from Ulster Bank Visa today, just waiting for the card to drop through the letter box, I have closed my Vanquis Visa and that will leave me with Monument and Capital One Visa both with £500 limits.
The next plan is to close the card with the least ammount of History (Monument) and just have the Capital One and Ulster Visa cards open.
hopefully by August this year I could approach MBNA or AMEX and see if I can get one of their cards with a decent limit.
