Nice one Mr P, onwards and upwards ;)

Do you know your limit yet??

    UNDERGROUND :D
    £500 mate.
Got to start somewhere, the plan is that this card will supersede my Monument Visa which I use for monthly expenditure i.e. Tesco for food and smokes etc, I pay in full every month therefore do not incur interest.
Monument is 26.6% APR and Ulster is 17.5% APR.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

Best thing is though that it's a mainstream card with a market average APR, so there must be something about your credit scoring which has significantly improved.

You'll be an ex sub-primer before you know it! It's great to see people's progress on this thread, it's a testament to the helpful and welcoming attitude of the regular contributors.

I had to appeal the application as it was declined by automated score-card, just sent in bank statements and pay slips etc and without further question a CCA dropped on my door mat.

  • Hi

It'd be worth contacting Royal Mail with this query, they may create a new address, I really don't know.

What address do you have listed on your electoral papers and council tax documents? (needless to day don't post your address on here!)

If you're planning on staying at your current address it's definitely something you need to sort out in preparation for any future applications.

    Regards

The council tax address is half the house - no idea what they think is going on with the other half, although they do address it to the whole house, and I think the electoral piece is to the farmyard - which is what the whole thing used to be part of.

It is quite a nonsense situation.

I think I need to get the landlord to sort it out, but I am concerned that any of my bad credit stuff might come to his attention (or that if addresses that aren't linked now then become linked and my CRA situation ostensibly could become a whole heap worse - could this confusion be a reason I got the bank account in the first place?????)

    ARGGGHHH

    Thanks for your help...

Mr P I have a question about your BOI card, I applied and got the message that a CCA form will be sent, how long did you have to wait for the forms. as not heard or received anything yet to sign.

Kiora, BOI and Ulster are not the same bank, RBS owns Ulster.
BOI send out the T&C's first for you to sign then they process your application, how did you apply for BIO card? I can't see any link on the site.

Join the gang...I tried for the PO CC on Friday and got the we will let you know. On Tuesday I got a letter requesting more info...I have to send a copy of my passport, bank statement, payslip, and CC bill. If I send copies these all have to be certified...you can take them into a post office to be certified as copies of the originals. Then they will look at the application again!!
I hope after I go to all this bother they dont say no as I will be pretty p****d off.

Good luck with your application...keep us posted;)

Got my welcome pack from Ulster Bank Visa today, just waiting for the card to drop through the letter box, I have closed my Vanquis Visa and that will leave me with Monument and Capital One Visa both with £500 limits.
The next plan is to close the card with the least ammount of History (Monument) and just have the Capital One and Ulster Visa cards open.
hopefully by August this year I could approach MBNA or AMEX and see if I can get one of their cards with a decent limit.

Mr. P, I'm thinking of closing a couple of accounts, but I don't want them to have too limited a time on my files. I've had my Vanquis since June 2008. Is it worth keeping it for 12 months and then closing it? Does it make any difference on how your credit is viewed? Ta :D

I am not sure how that would impact on your score, to some lenders it may look like you are being pro-active in managing your credit, to others it may look like you are limiting your exposure to debt.
I would say a couple of settled accounts could only help you tbh. ;)
