Sub Prime Credit Thread Part II
Comments

According to one of the men I spoke to yesterday at MBNA, they are still offering their £100 secured deposit card.
Thanks c8andice,
I see no sign of it on there website unless i'm having a man look lol.
Do you have to apply for it over the phone?
Thanks________________________________________

I'm not sure that it was ever advertised on their website, I can't remember. Maybe calling them up would help, although you might speak to 5 people first who have no idea the card even existed.
There used to be a link to apply on the first subprime credit card thread. If I remember rightly it was for this one:
https://wwwa.applyonlinenow.com/UKCC...AP-11111-15432
Alot of people then got turned down, after being given a number to call at the end of the online application, but were told they were able to have a card with a £500 limit 19.9% apr on deposit of £100.
If that is the wrong card that we all applied for to begin with, then my mistake, but it is exactly the same design (other than it's a visa not a mastercard) so maybe best not to apply from the link until someone else can verify this is the right one.
I would go over the old thread and double check but I'm already late for the school run0 -
Thanks people,
Just one final question before I apply, do you know if they accept tenants on this style card or is it designed for homeowners?
Cheers
PS I fancy a score draw for us tonight. Torres to break his bernabeau duck.________________________________________

Instant decline for me and no number to call. Just a link to Vanquis Visa website. Dont trust them as I believe they are part of the Welcome Finance group of rip off merchants... currently having fun with them regarding a forged loan agreement!
Oh well
Will wait 6 months and try again lol________________________________________

Welcome to MSE!
Well done on taking some action. You'll like this thread, it's full of good, supportive peopleI'm more of a lurker these days but feel free to ask me any questions you like, I know a bit about credit reference agencies.
With regard to your address, get the official Royal Mail version of it here:
http://postcode.royalmail.com/portal/rm/addressfinder
If various companies use different versions call them and ask them to change it to the Royal Mail version otherwise you'll possibly end up with loads of linked addresses on your credit files.
You're taking your first steps to re-building your credit rating by getting your credit files, do let us know what's on them when they turn up.
It's a good sign that you managed to get a full account with cheque guarantee, you must have something about you that lenders like!
Welcome again, and good luck.

Thank you for the welcome Underground. The problem with my address is that the house was two cottages, so Royal Mail therefore have two addresses for the previous two cottages, and the third address is the house address that the landlord leased it to us under, but that isn't registered with Royal Mail. Complicated I know.... Any advice?0 -
