  • Sky don't give much to existing customers - if you already have multi-room and one HD box you are expected to pay the full £199 plus installation charge. No good reason for this and no exceptions.

Does anyone know what happens after you apply for sky hd online? I did this 3 days ago, got an order no. and confirmation email but nothing since.

It should tell you the status of your order if you visit sky.com/track

I'm dubious anyway as I believe Sky have downgraded the quality of their standard programming to make HD look necessary.

Interesting, what are you basing this on?

Simply the fact that since they launched HD, every one of the channels that has an HD equivalent has become poorer in picture quality.
The clarity on the movie channels has made some films unwatchable (in my opinion). Sky1 is a bit up and down.....

I'm just being cynical, but it's a great marketing ploy for selling HD isn't it....

I now download more than I actually watch on Sky, mainly because I can download a much better quality.

I have also noticed that some channels are far worse on Sky than they are on normal digital TV.

I have an LG7000 Scarlet series Full HD TV and the built-in digital tuner gives better reception than my Sky + box on some channels.

Man U v Derby the other week was a prime example, terrible blocky picture on Sky, excellent via DVB-T

I seem to have been charged for the first months HD package (£9.75) even though I ordered online. Anyone else had this happen to them? I have emailed Sky, just waiting for their response...
