    Morning all

((Hugs)) Johanne what a horrible thing to happen I think that you should go to the police then at least they have a record if god forbid anything else happens.

Not much on today, got to sort out everything for the coming week again. DD is going to a new toddler group with grandma for the 2nd time this week when she went last week she came back really grubby so I'll have to make sure I send her in something dark this week. Apart from that its a roast for tea tonight and then Jacks back ie a double episode of 24.

    have a good day everyone

Posh Paws - did I read somewhere about you and "Mummy bread"? What's that all about?

    Hiya Petal!

"Mummy Bread" is what we say to distinguish between home made bread or shop-bought stuff. I do a bread machine recipe which involves 50/50 Malt Grain flour & White Flour, Oats, Linseed, Olive Oil & Honey. In fact, you can put just about any kind of seeds with it, or nuts, or fruit - whatever takes your fancy. Catowen tried it and liked it - and we've just demolished one of this morning's loaves with some ham, for lunch! :D It doesn't have any salt in it - and you can almost feel it doing you good as it goes down. :T

Just while I'm writing - I asked DS to clear his bedroom floor of dead Bionicles and a whole slew of other stuff, so that I could hoover in there. He is in a "aren't I helpful" mood today, so he set to with good grace. About five minutes later, he called out "Mummy - you never would have guessed it, but you know what?? I'm actually enjoying myself!!" :rotfl: Bet it won't last! lol

Supper-beef stew-made in oven not SC!!!(sc stews too liquidy and flavour not concentrated enough for me-sorry OS heresy I know! :o )
Sue, the advice that came with my new SC that I got at Christmas, was if the stew looked to be too liquid, leave the lid off for a while (whilst keeping an eye on it so that it doesn't dry out and stray cats, children or budgerigars don't fall in), turn it up to High and it will reduce. Works a treat on mine - I hate that "thin" thing that otherwise can happen with SC's. I guess it would work the same even if you don't have a changeable setting.

DD's bed is now up and running and she has dived straight into it :D This is good going for a 4 year old :D Trouble is it is a lot bigger than I thought and the shelf on the wall is now too low for the bed to go against the wall :D

    Hello everyone :hello:

A late start for me today, albeit I was woken at 6 by DS2. Stayed in bed and then treated myself to bacon and egg sarnies and a cup of tea (back in bed) whilst I watched the end of my dvd (was too tired last night so was fast asleep by 10.30) Feeling a lot better today, even more so as both DS's are out - DS1 at Beavers party and DS2 has just been taken to a play centre with his mate :D

Both slow cookers are on - Brisket on red onions in one and sago pud in the other. There are some lovely smells creeping upstairs right now  Have a huge pile of ironing to do and WM still needs to go on again - 1st load currently split between TD and radiators, cos it's pouring down here. Need to do a quick whip round with the vac/duster in a while too and clean bathroom while no kids running in and out.

Can't really think straight at the moment - I'm sure I have stuff I really NEED to do today, but my head's still stuffed with cotton wool. Anyway, will make another cuppa and mooch around - bet I'll end up going for DS1 cos Mr TM will say "I don't know where he is" (well, neither do I, but I guess I'll find it :D)

Hugs to Johanne and everyone else in need.

    Catch ya all later

  • Afternoon everyone,

I've been super busy this morning. I had a quick read through the posts this morning, and was really shocked by what had happened to Johanne - don't answer the door to anyone when its late unless you know that you are expecting someone. That could have been really nasty. Get that door chain on pronto, and see if the police will give you a panic alarm. It will make you feel safer - what kind of world do we live in when people aren't safe in their own home.

We had a mad clean of the kitchen for the past couple of hours. All big appliances pulled out, cleaned, hoovered behind. Oven stripped and cleaned, and i cleaned the drawer in the WM that annoys me every time i look at it. I got a cocktail stick at it in all the little holes, so i feel really clean and virtuous.

Just having a bit of a gap while we think what to have for lunch.

DH has been super busy and has put up a hanging rail in the kitchen (the ones that you hang your utensils on) and a shaving mirror in the bathroom, plus took quite a bit of cack out of the garage up to the tip, including the recylables, as its being closed for 8 weeks. Will now continue to fill garage back up as we continue to renovate the house. He also made a loaf, so i really am feeling spoiled today.

bacon butties for breakie, probably a sandwich for lunch, and sausagesand mash/beans for tea.

    Enjoy the day,
    Michelle :o

OOps forgot to add.. i have got a chain... infact when i moved in my parents fitted a chain, 2 bolts and a yale lock to the front door as it only had a mortice..... and they fitted an extra bolt on the back door so i have a mortice and 2 bolts on that door. They also sourced a window key for me as the letting agent didnt have one and said i should just leave the windows unlocked seen as they had been "all this time" anyway while the house had been empty. But thanks for the suggestions!!

The house is secure... i just didnt think to put the chain on as i THOUGHT i recognised the voice as being OHs younger bro... then when i realised it was my neighbour (this guys living room window is opposite mine) and he asked for jump cables i just thought he was a bit inconsiderate....didnt think he was going to escalate things to making me uncomfortable....!! But from now on i will be really careful which is a shame as i suffer aniexty attacks and very slight agrophobia and was JUST convincing myself (after living there 6 months on friday) that the place was safe and i didnt have to hide away cos nothing was going to harm me!!! Irony eh?!

All else fails at least he now knows that i DO have a 6ft 8 and 21 stone boyfriend...... with an evil snarl and who knows where he lives!! So he'd have to be plain thicko to try anything again or just asking for a broken limb or 4!! :p :rotfl: hehehe

    Hello everyone!

I've been up and down from bed like a yo-yo all night and all morning. Am up permanently now, having got some proper clothes on.

Johanne - I think definitely have a chat with the police. They exist for everyone's protection, you are entitled to that...remember the curse of the Council Tax...time to get a bit of payback on it. They may possibly give you some hints and tips to help you keep control of such a situation. If they come to your house then wonderful, hopefully that will put the willies up your horrible neighbours. One thing I would suggest is that if anybody comes to your door when you aren't expecting a caller, go upstairs and open a window to ask who they are.

I've got to do some homework today - reading some of the stories in Dubliners (well, I did most of that during the night), and some research for history. I didn't think I'd enjoy history but it's turning out a lot more interesting and relevant than I had anticipated.

I dug out my Walkers pedometer which I got free last year and am going to start recording how many steps I do per day. I know I don't do nearly enough, specially with college 2 nights pw and overtime at least one night a week. Sitting here staring at my lappy isn't doing me any favours either. So I'll try and get to the recommended 10,000 steps every day as a minimum.

    Eats today as follows:

B = 1st breakfast at around 6.00 am was porridge. 2nd breakfast a few mins ago was a pear & bran muffin from the GI Diet book (like slightly sweetened sawdust, but ever so healthy!)
L = some veg roll (an NI speciality, bit like a v.thick sausage made with beef and various herbs & veg, then cut into slices and grilled or fried), a couple of beef sausages, some mushrooms, and an egg. Will have this about 6.00 pm.
D = well, not really dinner, will have supper as my meals are all a few hours late today. Probably a bowl of cereal - probably some shop's own All-Bran which I bought to make the muffins.
Snacks = fruit, mainly kiwifruit and oranges, to get to the bottom of the bowl. Would love a piece of chocolate though...

    Have a nice day everyone!
