Sorry you are having a worrying time and hope things improve for you both.

DD is getting a bit better - her fever is down and she is requesting a boiled egg and soldiers!

Doing that now - big hug everyone.

    Graham,

As I have just started my 2nd wine glass-full, I can say that's it's very very nice :D Mr TM also agrees. For the price (I think under £5, but can't remember exact amount) it's well worth the money. I shall test it out on one of my BIL's next time I see him, as he is a port cony....coni.... conoi.... expert :D

Grrrr!!!!!!!!!!! Spent half an hour typing a message, then along comes Ted the big hairy kitty cat who decides I should be looking at him rather than my laptop, stands on the keyboard and wipes my message. GRRRRRRR!!!!! Naughty tiger!

So a snapshot of my day:

Got up at 6.30 am, had breakfast. Lay down with a book cos it was too dark and cold to get up properly then fell asleep again. Got up again at midday. Can't believe I am sleeping so much (apologies to those who are lacking in the kip dept, am not rubbing it in, honest).

Went to town and got some cheapo files and paper for my college course from the local cheapo shop which luckily has a v.wide range of v.cheapo goods, which aren't too bad quality. Am doing Anglo-Irish literature (ie literature written in English by Irish authors), and Irish history. The history of this little island is v.long and complicated - we're starting with the rebellion of 1798 - guess who the rebellion was against....yeah, that's right, the English. It is a long, long, long, llooooooooooong story as to why N.Ireland is the way it is. But don't worry I'm not going to go into detail, suffice to say it's no wonder the situation is so hard to understand!

Tonight, I'll finish off tidying up my "dumping ground" 2nd bedroom. The clutter seems to have been breeding. I've also got lots of reading to do for college.

MATH...please take a break from worrying; worrying just makes you go grey and wrinkly (alright, I know you've got a polished bonce, but you know what I mean ie worrying solves nothing). Nobody knows what is around the corner. Many/most of us on here have had trials and tribulations, but everyone is surviving all the same. You will cope with whatever happens....and something WILL happen as Mrs MATH is being proactive and putting her back into getting a new position.

I'm off, see you all tomorrow.

Haven't posted much recently but just popped on to send love and hugs to all who are worried/sad/in pain. It must be the time of year, this miserable grey weather seems to make problems twice as bad.
Spring will be along soon and we shall all feel better......I hope.

Snowy - the room I am sitting in is floor to ceiling in Anglo-Irish literature and Irish history :D I'm surprised Mr TM deigned to marry an English prod. However, he does try and make out my granddad was a Black and Tan!! :rotfl:

    (he wasn't, BTW )

For a little light relief, I can read to my heart's desire - about WW1 and WW2

I had jelly for lunch today. Just couldn't resist it.

Earlier in summer when making rhubarb and strawberry crumble I found that I got lots of liquid produced which made the crumble soggy. So I gently simmered the last lot and lifted the fruit out with a slotted spoon. I froze the juices intending to make a nice syrup out of it sometime, but in fact decided to experiment and got some gelatine.
Ooh,I've done this with rhubarb juice Squeaky.

It worked really well and was a stunning colour.I got a recipe from Sophie Grigson's Feasts For a Fiver. She baked the rhubarb, then strained off the juice to make the jelly(adding orange juice and cardamom). Then she used the cooked rhubarb to make a relish to serve with mackerel.Neat idea.

I've also made jellies with leftover juice from canned fruit, and just after Christmas with the juice left from making cranberry sauce. It's a very satisfying way of using up what you'd otherwise throw away.In the summer I use leftover juice for making ice lollies.

This would also be yet another way to get a portion of fruit into younglings I reckon - there aren't many who turn down jelly :)

You've found one Squeaky - I think it was the dinner lady standing over me making me eat green jelly (practically force feeding me with a spoon) that put me off it for over 30 years. I got my own back in the only way a 5 year old can - I won't elaborate

hey math, being a worrier is horrible, especially when your oh is not a worrier. i really hope it all works out especially as mrs math is trying so hard, it must be really hard to not be the big chief any more.

well boys have amazed me they have volunteered to help their dad with tiling and done what they were told without any trouble.

major neg is that our car radiator blew up today. arghhhh. this is to add to the fact part of the exhaust is blown and something is up with the brakes. we don't seem to have any luck lately.

Late one from me today :hello:

I have a yummy-smelling chicken & veg casserole bubbling away on the stove for supper and some of next week's lunches. Got a load of washing in the WM (with previous load just finished TD-ing - just realised my blue jumper wasn't supposed to be tumble dried ) and am propped up on my bed drinking a glass of red wine and listening to an opera broadcast on Radio 3. When it's finished I have to have a long-procrastinated chat with housemate about sorting out a broadband connection.

Just wrote housemate a cheque for £90.63  which is my share of the quarterly leccy bill, gas bill, plus monthly TV licence DD and my half of the new kettle he recently bought to replace the one that went kaput. Still at least no council tax this or next month :j :j

Also, should be getting a cheque for £144 tomorrow :j :j which is a month's pay for my singing job including one extra session. I should have had it last week but forgot to ask  (it's ALL MINE because the tax is declared against my main income :j :j)

WALKED into Bexleyheath earlier - a good half hour on foot - so feeling very virtuous. Especially as I picked up a price list for recently refurbished leisure centre/swimming pool on the way :A oh who am i kidding, I'll never go :o

MATH - chin up honey, I know something of what it's like to be the only one who worries in a household!! In my previous shared house I lived with two guys who didn't know the value of money even though they had a lot less of it than me! (Luckily I knew both of their sets of parents quite well, so I was able to organise all the DDs for bills etc on MY bank account in the knowledge that the parents wouldn't leave me short!) You sound like a bloke in a million and I'll pray that it works out. Just one little suggestion -and I'm not fully familiar with your circumstances so it may not be practical - I know you have two properties. Is there any way you could get any rental income out of one of them? Even just for a while?

chardonnay - I feel for you. Hope it all works out.

SnowyOwl - we have cats - well they're not ours but they do like spending time at our house! - and one of them has a tendency to sit precariously next to the cooker when I've got the hob on, and jump onto the draining board when it's full of clean dishes

Hugs to anybody else who requires them, and I might catch up with you tomorrow but more likely Monday as am out most of tomorrow - church in morning, then concert & boyfriend in evening, so might be home in between but alternatively might see if I can find a reasonably priced screening of one of the 4 films I want to see at the mo (Walk the Line, Narnia, Brokeback Mountain, A C0ck and Bull Story)....

    Rzl xxx
