Good reminder TM, unfortunately I am unable to get DH to even fit the three that are still sitting boxed in my dining room
It's been six months now without smoke detectors since he took the old ones down to paint the ceiling and decided they were too grotty to go back up
Wish I could do it myself but unfortunately it means raising my arms above my head and that's nigh on impossible for me atm.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
thanks everyone - cheered me up that people care so much.
feeling much better, had a good sleep eventually and just cooling off after a bath. had a chat with dp and feel much better.
re the footie cards - he also thinks they are a waste of money. hopefully by the time the end of the month comes they will have forgotten all about it - if not it's their pocket money.
re the old xbox we both agree that it should be a joint decision by both boys to get rid and if they do they should either sell or trade it in to get games for the new console if they get it. we already have an xbox as dp is a games nut too! he hasn't got the 360 yet either.
re the xbox 360: dp is not worried, we will just spend the usual and not be pressured into spending more. dp doesn't know how he expects to get £300+ for his birthday. if his mum has agreed then she must be willing to pay the brunt of it.
we are both in agreement that it is a bit much for a birthday present. the only good thing is ss realises he will have to use all his own money to pay for it. i am only worried that it sets a precedent for expensive birthday presents. other ss has a birthday in august and the ps3 comes out soon - will he be expecting this?
the trouble is by xmas this console will be much cheaper - but it's their mums prob if she has agreed. she is better off than us. although she has spent years telling the boys we have all the money!
going to get dressed and go to the boot sale for a look.
dw on, tumble dryer to go on.
will update later.
take care

moggins - oouch, you do sound to be in a lot of pain. Trust you are working with a healthcare "team" to alleviate these mobility problems? Take care.
chardonnay - glad to hear you're feeling a touch more cheery. Also v thankful daughter has only just hit 2!
Fantastic guilt-free lie in this morning (and yes I am missing my baby).Just about to venture into the kitchen to start the chores. Procrastinating a little as oh made some beautiful spicy parsnip soup last night. Except the clearing up after himself could have been better, and the recipe contains tumeric.... ho hum...shouldn't take long. Will do a quick whipround, put the WM on, unload the DW, plastics recycling. Want to "get ahead of myself" and wrap up all the remaining February/March birthday pressies, and make the 2 remaining cards. Looking forward to staying away at friends tonight before DD comes home tomorrow :j0 -
Hi Yall, what a misserable lot we are (moi included) I think the fairy from Misserable Castle, Misserville must have come down last night instead of the predicted Jack Frost and zapped us all as we sleep. (hugs) to all who need them:grouphug:
I started to post my gripes but I feel so low I can't put it all in print. If I did I know I would only go back and delete it cos there's too much personal stuff in there.
Feeling guilty, lonely and fed up are the lo-lights. LOL Everything seems to be crumbling about me.
By the end of the summer we will no longer be able to meet the payments on our mortgages:eek: Only I'm bothered!
Thanks for listening

MATH - How dreadful. You're usually the one that makes us all laugh. So sorry to hear about your financial problems. It's the most awful thing to worry about paying the mortgage.
I assume you've spoken to your lender & tried to get something sorted out? An extended term or a payment 'holiday'?
DH & I had dreaful financial problems about 12 years ago & worried about losing our home, we seriously considered declaring DH bankrupt. Thankfully it didn't come to that & what I found was that as long as we were honest with everyone & were seen to be making an effort to pay SOMETHING, most lenders were very understanding. We had agreements with a couple of people that we'd just pay £1.00 per month until we could afford more.
All we can really do is empathise & send you our love & listen when you need to offload.
I SO hope things turn out alright for you.

MATH, hi - just wanted to say that I hope it's just a "dip" in your energy/resourcefulness levels. I'm sure that you'll soon be back on your perch again. Take care of yourself.0

Awww, Math ... big hugs go out to you. As I'm sure we all know, worrying about money is bad enough - but worrying about the future of your home is even worse!
I've noticed that men tend to take longer to talk about stuff like this - maybe they need longer to think about it and toss it around in their heads before they're ready to be constructive. I also think they're "programmed" to immediately fix problems that us women bring to their attention - and if they can't immediately fix it, then they're left feeling a bit powerless.
Maybe your OH will show a bit more interest soon - and hopefully in time to be able to make some moves to avert disaster!:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0
