Skintmama wrote:Just read a bit from yesterday Funky Fairy. I had the pre-cancer cells too, of course it worried me but they are very easily treated. Like others have said they are not cancer, we are just so lucky that smear tests pick up these changes and therefore save us from it. After a brief treatment there will be annual cervical smears until they have been all clear for 3 or 4 years. Actually I think my first one was only 6 months after the colposcopy. Please don't frighten yourselves as there is no need.
Me too! I had my pre-cancerous cells 13 years ago when I was pregnant and have had yearly colposcopys for the last 5 or 6 years after having another scare and a small op to remove part of the cervix but luckily my last one in November was clear for the first time !!! :j Its usually easily treatable and is nothing to worry about( easier said than done I know)
Good luck FF !Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Evening all!!
Busy week this week (at work and home) so not managed to post much on here! Have kept up with thread though!
DS 1 & 2 fast asleep - don't know how long it'll last though - always seems to be one or the other waking up & needing a cuddle during the night!
Have done a load of washing - just got to take it out of machine, hang on radiator airers etc. DW has done one load this morning, but not full enough yet for another load. I've fallen behind with my ironing regime and haven't done any for about 3 days. So, that's my job for tonight - am going to empty the ironing basket!!
Not much planned for the weekend other than to clean house, do a bit of decluttering etc..
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

hi everyone, i know i'm posting just a tad too early, but i'm really down in the dumps and felt the need to tell you all about it. hope you don't mind.
anyway stepsons birthday is in a month and he mentioned tonight that he is getting an xbox 360. i asked who was getting him that and he said with my birthday money from mum, gran and grandad and dad and you! well this is news to us. we never give him money for presents. last time i looked xbox 360's were about £280. we are really skint at the moment and this will / is putting us under more pressure. we will be judged against whatever cash he gets from others, and if he doesn't get enough to buy it will he blame/ resent us? we are on a low income and usually try to get him good presents, but for the best price possible using mse etc. to be honest i think this is a bit much to expect for your birthday, but it must have been ok'd by his mum and maternal grandparents.
luckily we haven't already bought him anything else. i told him not to expect much from us (felt like the wicked stepmother). this is also not to mention that he will want / need games to go with it which range from £40 - £50. i could scream, haven't had the chance to speak to dp about it yet but i could tell he was annoyed.
next annoying factor is that a couple of years ago we bought both stepsons an xbox for a joint xmas present. their mum has now decided that if he is getting a 360 then the xbox has to go as there is no room for it. this has annoyed both dp and me as we bought it for both boys. the younger stepson wants to keep it as not all xbox games will play on the xbox 360 (although a lot do). i think they should keep it at least until they have checked all their older xbox games work on the new console (if he gets it), and the decision to get rid should be a joint decision by both boys, not by their mum. dp has told them that they have not to get rid of it as we bought it for them.
next annoying factor is the scottish premier league sticker book has come out. we give the boys £2.50 pocket money each a week. we have changed it since last month that they get the pocket money if they are good, do chores (keep their room tidy, help their dad with diy etc), at the end of the month. the reason being they would try to get advances etc. the youngest one started hinting that they only need £18 between them. i asked for what? the reply so we can buy a whole box of footie stickers (50 packs).
(what a waste of money!). when i told him he wouldn't get any pocket money till the end of feb you should have seen his face!
anyway sorry for war and peace. thought if i wrote it all down i might get some sleep.
os plans for the day
well firstly to try and sleep. lol
going to look round a car boot
no idea about dinners yet
suspect i will be doing loads of washings to try and get the washing basket emptied. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -

Awww Chardonnay, I hope you feel better in the morning. The stepson my just be pitting you and his mum against each other, I know I used to do it when I was youger, if you or OH are on good terms with the mother just have a word to see what has acctually been agreed, she may have been told the same as you. And as for the football stickers, just remind him that he has to earn his pocket moeny just like the rest of us, and that he is lucky to get any in the first place.
My day for tommorrow is the shopping, which I hate on a saturday, going to do some more reading as my course starts on monday and need to re-draft my first assignment.
I want to get a few more washloads done, tonights pots have already been washed. Did some decorating today so thats one less thing to do, I think its just going to be a general tidy up, oh and I need to clean the bathroom out, soda crystals for the bath and sink methinks.
God knows food wise will decide when I get to Asda.
Have a lovely day everyone :wave:Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Morning
Chardonnay-Sorry to hear your feeling a little low ATM. Chin up girl! My dd seems to think that money magically appears too. She receives £2.50pw (has to keep her room tidy for this) and she pushes to receive more too:rolleyes: I tend to bartar with her...LOL....she says I need this...I say why?...this normally continues till she sees she doesnt need it and I get my way:rotfl: but sometimes she goes on so much, that I realise she does want it..so she saves her money up, or if I have some extra cash (selling on ebay etc) I lend it to her (never more than £10 though) and she doesnt get pocket money for the locatad time period IYKWIM till its paid. DD is 11. There has been weeks where we havent had her pocket money, but shes normally pretty good, and there have been many weeks when she has received NO pocket money as her bedroom has been messy:D
Take care hun and it will appear easier in the morning-promise!
(((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Not alot sleep here for me, I have a stinking cold and feel awful!
WM is on, DW needs emptying, toilet cleaned. Between OH & I this weekend:
Floors need sweeping and moping. Stairs need hovering, our room needs a quick tidy. DD is cleaning her room or no pocket money this week. Need to pack up and send 6 parcels for ebay, pay cheques into bank and cash some postal orders. Buy a new mop and grab a few things from Tesco as we have some vouchers that need using;) sort out bathroom cupboard to see what needs using up in this months challenge (have so much..LOL) Also, need to make a quiche up with leftover chicken, onion, sweetcorn, bacon and cheese.
It seems alot but it shoudnt take long and as a woman (exception MATH/SQUEAKY) we are used to doing 1 million things at once!
Not much else going on here as Im going o be drugged up with cold and flu tablets today and try and sleep some of it off. The weather is making my SLE & FMS flare again and I hate it!!!!
Anyways, off to take me first load of meds.
Breakie:Egg & Bacon
Lunch:Baked Spud
Dinner:Pie & HM Chips (had HM curry last night)
Have a great day all. My post has just arrived-thats early!!

'morning everyone
Chardonnay - I hope everything feels a little better this morning. MY DDs had to learn that we simply couldn't afford to give them presents like this and that it didn't mean that we didn't love them ... just that there was a certain budget and we had to live within it. They received pocket money in return for chores and if they wanted anything in particuar they had to save up for it. The things they saved up for meant far more to them. They needed to understand that if something cost more than the budget allowed that we didn't have anyone to go ask for the extra money from (unfortunately credit cards allow this ). It's not being mean, it's being sensible. It's all part of learning.
Today it's the farmers market, so down there for some veggies, free range eggs etc. I plan to make up some meals for the freezer to save some time in the evenings next week.
Have a lovely OS day everyoneEnjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Good morning everyone.
Chardonnay - Sorry to hear you are feeling down. Hope you managed to sleep. Just to let you know but I totally agree with you (I have a nearly 10 year old stepson but there is no contact with his mother and to be honest I am thankful for this). I think an XBOX is way too much for a birthday present and I also don't agree with money as a gift either. I must be a wicked stepmother as well!! We got stepson a playstation 2 two christmases ago and then two months later he started saying he wanted a gameboy. I told him plain and straight to forget it that one games thingy was sufficient.
Just a suggestion but the XBOX that the mother is trying to get rid of why not have that in your house for when they come to you?!
Anyway, plans for today include finishing washing and a quick clean and tidy.
We are off to my mums today for a Christmas dinner! Yes I know its February. The reason behind this is at Crimbo my hubby normally gets a turkey from work but got told this year as they were getting laid off they wouldn't get one so my sister went and bought one. Lo and behold on his last day hubby walks in with a massive turkey. We ended up using that one and the other has been sitting in my sister's freezer. So we decided we would have another Crimbo dinner today. There will be nine of us there. My mum and dad, me and my brood and my sister and hers. Going to my mums early to see if I can help with anything.
Dinner menu is:
Starter - HM Tomato Soup and HM bread
Main - Turkey, stuffing, chipolatas (and with bacon), roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, sprouts, peas. Mmmm!!!
Dessert - Christmas pud
Hope everyone has a great day.0 -
Morning All,
Chardonnay - HUGS. I hope you and dp manage to have a chat today and come to an agreement.re.what to do about ss birthday.
I feel SO tired! Up with ds until 12.03am, put him to bed and got some sleep until 1.14am when dd1 starts crying. Poor soul had been sick in bed, so bath and change of bedclothes/pajamas for her. Stayed up with her till 4.20am!! Dragged myself back to bed for sleep and dd2 and ds woke up at 6.36am!! OMG! DH still in bad but will be woken any time soon as I am going to crash.
Have put BM on, WM finished its 3rd load of the day so now need to get it on the line/airer. 2 hour driving lesson today, even more reason why I need a couple of hours decent kip. Got to walk into the next village for the market today, not too far, about 2 miles each way. Got to make sure we have enough milk etc in for the next few days asdh away from early sunday to late tuesday.
Hope everyone has managed a decent night sleep.
