Let us know how the burgers turn out and whether it's worth getting a burger maker.

OH got a burger maker from Lakeland last year (a 30th birthday present from some good friends who know him far too well). He absolutely loves it, and thinks he's some sort of Jamie Oliver type man. Sadly, he hasn't used it recently - his excuse being that we haven't had a bbq! Hmmm, poor excuse as we could freeze some quite easily. It's been quite a novelty with some of our friends.

    Cheers vicky :)

We don't eat very many burgers, but when I've made HM ones, they've always fallen to bits and the kids didn't like them. I wondered if I could get them round and well compressed (as well as mincing the onion really really fine) if they would go down better. Like your OH - we'd really only eat them on a bbq - but who knows, if they are worth it and you can make some interesting ones, we may eat more.

    Happy Birthday arkonite_babe

Oh Vicky you're getting married the same day as me :j (originally picked as it's the 2nd weekend of school summer holidays and I thought I'd be teaching but can't see that now - long story - but guess it's similar to you, as both mum's are teachers it'll be good for them though) First dress fitting next week (certainly not an OS or moneysaving part of the wedding but oh well).

All quiet here at work so thought I'd catch up a bit. I woke up with really sore head and sinuses etc, think I've got your head cold PP - hope you're feeling ok - but have come into work, very glad it's quiet.

Been busy trying to keep on top of things at home, must do white washing load when I get home and then need to finish sorting out/making these skirts for the show I'm in. Bought my own lunch in again - that's 4/5 times this week :j and it's fish bits in breadcrumbs and jacket potato and peas for me tonight for dinner. Two cheap DVDs from play turned up today too so want to watch them, decided I must actually spend my Christmas money on something particular.

Have done really well with vouchers etc this week from surveys and a couple of complaints so looking forward to seeing what the post brings tonight.

Right need to check out a few more boards before I get on with my work.

Hope everyone's having a good day

I always grate my onion and a carrot or 2 in the food processor, mix with mince and an oxo, an egg to bind - leave in the fridge for an hour or so, then shape into burgers, wrap in cling film and either freeze or back in the fridge for the next day....they keep their shape really well...

OH does what Pooky does! He also puts a bit of mustard in.

Exactly the same reason for me getting married that weekend! My dad isn't best pleased as he's a farmer and harvest will have started by then. As I pointed out, he's only got one daughter who will only have one wedding.

    I can't believe it's gone 1 o'clock already!

    Happy Birthday Arkonite Babe!

P-P sorry to hear you and OH are both poorly, I know you like everything spick and span but try not to do too much! Glad you and SIL are talking again.

(((((HUGS))))) to everyone having "man trouble"! I get the "it's only money" thing too sometimes. DH is really good at keeping his finances in order, but as he's gradually becoming less mobile he wants to go on holiday as often as poss while he's still well enough. Okay, I do enjoy the holidays, it's lovely to spend time together in the sun even though we can't walk far, but on the other hand the kitchen is falling apart! We'll get it sorted eventually no doubt, in the meantime I know we're really lucky to be able to afford to go on holiday (he saves up his War Pension towards it, as he can still manage to work part-time.) so won't moan about it any more (not on here anyway! :D)

[B]Tootles[/ Have a lovely time in Paris! Hope the weather will be kind to you.

Johanne - good to see you back! Good luck with the Scouting! It's great that you're giving it a go, they are always short of volunteers as so many people now find life is too busy to do things like that.

Lilibet poor you, I hope Spud has a better night tonight! As other posters have said, have a little nap yourself when he has one, rather than trying to rush round catching up on housework.

Anyone know where Ancasta is? And if she's okay? I hope she is.

Have put rice pudding in the SC - I'm so glad I bought it!

    Breakfast - Ready Brek

Lunch - scrambled eggs on toast

Dinner - erm - well, there's rice pudding.....! have now got some chicken breasts defrosting but don't know what I'm going to do with them yet. Also, realised I bought 2 packs of them at the weekend and forgot to freeze them individually, just shoved the packs straight in the freezer, so will have to defrost four at a time and there are only three of us, what a nuisance. Still worse things happen at sea.

    Have a good day all

  • Vicky and yorkielass - i had to plan my wedding around the school holidays too.

It was a bit of a mad rush to be honest, as we got married on the 22nd of october last year, which was the first saturday of the half term. (I couldn't really have done it in summer as i suffer terribly with hayfever - not a fantastic look). It's quite hard planning it around all the school work - or i found it so as my school is in special measures and planning to get out within the year. the advantage is, i was so busy, that i didn't have chance to get nervous.

Best of luck to the two of you. You seem to be planning everything well in advance.
  • Just a quick line to say hello to everyone from somebody new to this board. :)

I love the way you're all busy catching up about stuff that I keep a "to do" list on. Hubby thinks I'm being terribly anal by doing so - but I reckon that if I keep it on my notepad instead of in my head, that leaves a bit more elbow room for everything else that's rattling around in there! :D Anyway, I get a kick out of seeing stuff get scrubbed off the "to do" list, even if it IS back on there the next day! :)

    So ... hello from me!

    Love
    PoshPaws
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:
