Morning all/Happy birthday AB!

johanne - good to see you back - I was just wondering where you'd got to!

Didn't get on the computer at all after getting home from work last night so I missed all the "our men are rubbish" rants! Hugs therefore to moggins, TM, Jo, and anybody I missed! If I stay with my BF I know I'm going to have to be careful - he's a high earner but thinks that means he doesn't have to budget! even though he's a risk-taker and is not in secure employment (he's an IT contractor). Last time he found himself without a contract he got soooo stressed because he only had a month's wages in the bank, and the only reason he's got any money in the bank now is that he's just bought a new flat, costing a lot less than previous house - but did he reduce the mortgage? Course he didn't. I need to take him firmly in hand (I've told him this and of course he treats it as a dirty joke ) to try and sort out both his financial security. He OUGHT to be in a position to have no financial worries so WHY DOES HE????

Had a delish casserole last night - one of those "everything that needs using up" concoctions! Turkey, onion, garlic, red pepper, red chilli, sweet potato, courgette, mushrooms. Seasoned with mixed herbs and paprika; cooked in chicken stock and sherry. Got the leftovers for lunch today

Mind you, you can't take me anywhere... TBH I shouldn't be allowed in the kitchen, give my TWO cooking-related injuries during preparation of the above. First of all I managed to squirt myself in the face while chopping chillies. Chapped lips and chilli juice are not a nice combination   THEN while dishing up I managed to flip a slice of boiling-hot courgette onto the inside of my left wrist. Had a dish of food in one hand and a ladle in the other, so couldn't get rid straight away - it must have stayed there burning me for a good 5-10 seconds  I spent the rest of the evening with my wrist wrapped in kitchen roll soaked in cold water :o and luckily it doesn't seem to be coming up in a blister.

Also got two loads of washing done :j :j

Lillibet - hope you manage to catch up on some sleep today.

P-P - glad you seem to have sorted it out with your SIL :j :j

I've got freebie tickets for this evening to review "The Mikado" at English National Opera, so am taking housemate out. Should be good fun. It's great when I can get freebies like this - live performances are so much better than CDs!

Catch you later

• Morning to all

:p to husbands who don't take their turns at the night time stuff :D
I reckon they need to come up with a big treat to get away with that :rotfl:

All weepy and emotional yesterday evening and carrying on today a bit. Usuallly I can put DH's cancer to the back of mind but it just gets the better of me sometimes. So I am going to try to get some things clean and straight after all the plastering in order to keep myself busy. Lots of plaster dust on everything as they mixed it indoors. I wasn't expecting that so had not got anything covered properly.

Hippo Bathday Arkonite Babe (used to say this in school for some strange reason!)

Enjoy the SC Stressedoutmumof1, not sure what we are having tonight yet. I couldn't concentrate on getting our menu done properly last week.

:grouphug: to those in need.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

If this ever happens again, run under the tap, then wrap area in cling film, keeps it clean and helps stop blisters (just renewed my first aid certificate!!!!)

not much planned for today. managed to get it all done yesterday.
friend coming round shortly, got to do a shopping list for my trip to asda later.
am looking at a house tonight when oh gets in from work, the only trouble is i live in town and this ones out in the sticks and i am used to walking or getting the bus eveywhere what do you think.
this sleep thing must be a bug, as i havent slept for about 2 weeks am really tired now, but will have a lay in tomorrow, no kids as mum as them from 9am.
i think am not sleeping because dd3 has to have 11 teeth out next wed, we have to be in london at 7.30am and am really panicking as i have a fear of going to sleep and never coming round although i know the dentists are good.
bye all, have a nice day.
• Just read a bit from yesterday Funky Fairy. I had the pre-cancer cells too, of course it worried me but they are very easily treated. Like others have said they are not cancer, we are just so lucky that smear tests pick up these changes and therefore save us from it. After a brief treatment there will be annual cervical smears until they have been all clear for 3 or 4 years. Actually I think my first one was only 6 months after the colposcopy. Please don't frighten yourselves as there is no need.

I've just cleaned out the larder....it's amazing what you forget when it's in the dark depths....

So far I've done a 23day menu plan that involves my buying nothing more than a few bits of fresh veg each week......and there'll still be a few bits left in the freezer. The perils of having such a big freezer I suppose, you think you're doing well to keep it stocked but infact you're just hording.....The larder is just as bad, although I had been stocking up on BOGOF flour, I seem to have accumulated 12 bags.......ooooops!

Hi Yall, nuther day for freezing ya assets:eek: Cleaning and paid2clicks done and first load of washing on the go. Trying to stay indoors and keep warm cos I've a shed load of running about this afto and tonight with the kids.

Scuzz Are having your eyebrows done and starting doing sit ups in any way connected. Is it a side effect or summat:confused::D

PP Hope you feel better tomorrow, just be grateful you havn't caught MANFLU that's even worse.;)

Arkonite Happy Birthday_party_

Mrs MATH had pre-cancerous cells and colposcopy(sp) treatment about 15years a go just after we were married. They keep a close eye on you for 5yrs or so before you get the all clear. Although you wouldn't put the treatment on your birthday list it's far better to get it sorted now rather than later. Best wishes to all about to go through it.

Have a good day and keep warm.

Dragged myself off to slimming world last night and dreading the scales - I lost 2 lbs!:j

Staying in for a package to be picked up and on here while I wait.

WM is on and dishwasher is loaded, Shepherds pie is in the slow cooker and once DH arrives I am going for a healthy walk.

After trying to get DH to let me set the alarm clock - he finally agreed it was a good idea this week - he is now amazed how much better he sleeps when he does not need to keep one eye on the clock. Surprise?

Hiya everyone :hello:

Arkonite-Babe..... Happy Birthday _party_ _party_ Let us know how the burgers turn out and whether it's worth getting a burger maker.

Lillibet..... It will get better - from spud, not from DH. They have an amazing ability to not hear baby crying

Jo - Lidl (or is it Aldi? - no I think Lidl) do packs of 3x pop sock thingies to wear under trousers. Cheaper than most other places - can't remember if they even were as cheap as 99p pack. Chin up about OH - remember, you don't have to put up with !!!!!!. What's it going to be like in 10 years time, and esp if you have kids? I know it's easy to say, but if you can't get him to grow up soon, you're probably better off without him - only you know what your relationship is like, but pm me if you want a chat. Been there, got a whole line in t-shirts :D:D

Anyway....I was going to be so industrious today. But DS1 was in our bed at 2.30am again  What's even worse is he's decided if he crawls in next to daddy, rather than in the middle, I won't notice. Trouble is, I do and what was worse was it meant Mr TM slept in the middle of the bed - I received a good knee in the back amongst other 'injuries' from him :) Also, even thoug hI was woken 4 or 5 times last night, he didn't realise DS1 was in bed until his alarm went off at 7, so he doesn't see a problem

Ah well :D Anyway, took DS2 to speech therapy and decided if I didn't take my bag with me, I wouldn't be tempted by town. Came home, WM on, ad then rang friend and had long chat. Listened to my DS2 on his toy piano and her DD (same age) on her toy violin, the wonders of speaker-phones :D:D That's all I've done so far :o

So, DS2 off to pre-school in a few minutes, then I can come home and get on. I was going to do liver and bacon in the SC today, but forgot to take it out of the freezer. I'll do it next week. So, I reckon it's fish pie and there's some plum crumble left too, with ice cream.

Right, to everyone and (((hugs))) to those in need. Best get DS2 to pre-school, then I can get on with some work. Catchya all later
