Morning everyone
I have to do a 3 minute talk about fume inhalation today at my first aid course, so am writing it now. I hope I pass at the end of the week. It seems the results are announced in class after the assessments! I'm not looking forward to that at all.
DW is on & nearly finished, washing is on the radiators to dry. Hade to bake a loaf for hubby's lunch today as we were out of bread.
Hugs to everyone.

Good morning,
Hope everyone is ok, took me ages to get to sleep last night, but only woke up once, so not too bad for me!!!!
Its a lovely day here too at the moment, blue sky and very sunny, have our heating on at the moment, so we are toasty warm, but it looks like it is freezing outside!!!!! We have our fingers crossed that it will snow, but normally we dont get much (if at all), it would be nice but never mind.
Housework mostly up to date at the moment, just the normal bathroom and dusting jobs today, however do need to get my road tax this morning (£170 for the year, nearly died of shock when that came through the door!!!) so will pop into town this morning, hopefully the queue wont be too big as i will have two little ones with me, but they tend to get a lot of attention of the old ladies so it shouldnt be too bad!!!!!
I dont want to do a big shop until the weekend (have a huge list, but trying to keep to the budget this month) so i will attempt to go into Waitrose and only buy milk, swede and sweet potatos (for stew later) i normally end up picking up loads of other things but hopefully i will be strong!!!!!!!
Thats about it for today, hope everyone has a good one, take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning (bleary eyed one this morning - up very late, or maybe it was very early, have a celebratory eveing with a dear friend ) either way, a tired Queenie this morning.
After my good old fashioned "lay-in" on Sunday ... this morning, I'm going to be a really lazy woman and go back to bed after the lads are safe and secure at school and the "field" coat dries on the d11yo shield:o
Oh and if anyone else has to make a Medieval Shield for their school child at any point, the linked website is great for info (plus a small, free, downloadable programme with designs to print off and a shield template)
Catch up with you all later
PP - have we been leading you astray on OS? I notice that your debt-free date is being prolonged rather than getting closer. Hope we aren't responsible for it now moving to May
scuzz - hope you're taking it easy! I tried the £2 coin challenge - but I think other MSE'ers are causing a shortage, I've only managed 8 so far :rotfl:
Prudent - couple of ideas re: your ironing pile:-
1) take out all the undies, towels, sheets and other unnecessaries that really won't notice if not ironed.
2) delegate the pile to other family members
3) Get a very large box, upturn it over the ironing pile, decorate with a pretty (unironed!) tablecloth and call it a new coffee table
Right, catch you all later. Keep warm.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi, we always used to have that shock when things like that appeared, and it took ages for me to figure out that car tax, like Christmas & other large expenses tend to arrive on an annual basis, at the same time each year. So eventually I decided to put a bit away each month so that we would be prepared for the next year. It all goes into a savings account, and I try to allow for possible increases too. It took a couple of years to get everything on track, but I am so glad we did it!0 -

Hi Chipps, yes, i do that as well, but i was sure in the budget he had said it was staying the same as last year, so i only had the £155 saved, so bit of a shock to have to find the extra £15!!!!!0 -
Morning all :hello:
It's rare for me to be able to post first thing, but I'm going to a school nearby to watch an Advanced Literacy teacher (or something like that) teach and English/Literacy lesson. Hopefully I'll get lots of tips and tricks to take back to my little dears to get them thinking properly and writing coherent sentences. They've got such good imaginations that they write everything down, but forget about the full stops  From talking to other teachers in other parts of the country, this is not just my class' problem. Phew!
I could have had a lie-in, but because I didn't make sandwiches last night I got up and did them this morning. No time for a salady thing today, but we'll be back on track tomorrow - touch wood.
My dad is having his hip replacement operation today. Apparently he's first up at 9am - can every one send him positive thoughts please? They should have a bed for him today too :undecided When my mum left him last night, he was sitting in a grotty chair in the day unit waiting for all the day patients to leave so that he could have a bed there for the night. So, if anyone happens to work in Lincoln County Hospital, just have a look out for a large man with a new hip (or dodgy one before 9am).
Taken the first load out of the WM that I put on overnight. Need to put another lot in thoughAnd the ironing pile does never go down!
breakfast - branflakes
lunch - sandwich, yoghurt and fruit.
supper - veggie lasagne - we both loved it last week, and I had an extra points voucher for some of the ingredients that ran out at the weekend so we decided to do another one!
Have a good day

Then family over for dinner tonight, so must have a good tidy up & lay a fire before they arrive.
On a good note, Spud seems to be starting to sleep through the night again sometimes......oh the relief:D:D:D:D:D He's currently in the lviing room watching yesterdays daily mail free baby dvd:p Oh, and he got his 2nd tooth yesterday:D
Have a good day everyone;)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

Not read the thread through as I'm running slightly late as I had to sew a patch on DD's school pants! J ust popped in to say I'm off shopping today for new school pants for DD as not only are her current ones now full of patches but they're starting to ride up her legs as they're getting too short. She's not 5 yet and is already outgrowning a size 22...whatever that size means!
Beds airing, washing from yesterday about to be sorted, dd almost ready for school. Going to buy a bus pass today and get off the bus a couple of stops early so I can pop to JJB sports and buy myself some new trainers as I'm sick of getting static shocks when I wear my current (and very worn out) ones. Need to get the bus again to the uniform shop, pop to the card shop and then I might pop into Tescos but I should really jump the bus into town and get more packing tape for ebay parcels so I might skip Tesco's and just go to Poundland instead and the Tesco Metro for reduced items.
See you all later.Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
