Afternoon all, hope everyone is having a good weekend
Didn't get online to post yesterday, just came on to check my emails and had a quick read on here. I did loads of cooking yesterday, made a huge pan of mushroom soup to freeze into portions for dinner this week. Then my Grandad gave me 2lbs of minced steak on Fri so i made a big pan of Chilli and one of bolognese to freeze for the days when i'm not feeling so good so that i at least feel better that DD has a decent, homemade meal.
B - Chucky egg and soldiers for DD, scrambled egg on toast for me
D - Mushroom soup and bread
T - Chilli and potato wedges
Having a bit of peace now as my parents have taken DD to see my Gran and Grandad for a couple of hours. Just going to browse on here (its amaxing how many posts you miss when you don't log on for even 1 day!) and then go and have a bath and make myself presentable for DBoyf coming over tonight.
Take care all

The roast chicken is just about ready, just leaving it to rest for a bit, the veg is on. The ham soup, with every pulse imaginable is in the SC. Made two banana loaves from bananas I was going to chuck, but came across a thread about over ripe bananas etc so made up two loaves (wanted a recipe using cups instead of measuring on scales so used Allrecipes as it's American) and they came out really good, had no walnuts so chucked in some almonds instead, for a change. Taste really nice. Here is the recipe I used...

The soup smells great, not quite ready yet though. Away to sort out the veg etc for the chicken.
Enjoy what's left of your evening. Cheers. :-)“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0 -
Smiley_mum - Brazil nuts are lovely in a banana loaf too. I often swap between walnuts and brazil nuts, in fact whatever I have in. I have a couple of over-ripe bananas too.....
I've got round to prepping and freezing that huge box of mushrooms I got from the market the other day. All floors hoovered, dusting done in living room, kitchen tidied and all big pans/stock pots washed and put away. I did manage to clean and tidy the boys' rooms, prior to putting out a large train set, but they've decided to 'make dens' so goodness knows what state they are in
Washing currently drying and as Mr TM has arrived home, I'm sure there's another load (or 2) to do. I'll leave the ironing for another day. We've just pigged out on spag bol and garlic bread. Didn't make the cobbler as I didn't put the big oven on, but will def make that next week - I have lots of eating apples to use up soon.
Right - I fear the time has come to do hair-cuts x 3. I'll just get the clippers then round the boys up with threats of cutting off of ears if they so much as move a muscle.........0 -
Can I just say how much I love this site, particularly OS!
You're all so helpful. I've been given advice by a couple of people, supporting me with my losing weight and saving money. It just makes it so worthwhile, doesn't it? OH is eternally grateful to this site too, even if he doesn't post. He's become more argumentative with insurance salesmen (to get a better deal) AND he doesn't mind eating healthy items. He's also keen on us using the slow cooker more and more.
So, thank you everyone! You're great! :beer:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
A big thanks to evryone who answered my earlier question about freezing sandwiches, I bought lods of cheap rolls in Morrisons 'reduce to clear'. also bought huge bit of red leicester (30p) and two packets sliced chicken tikka. Made up three weeks worth of lunches. It cost very little and took around 15 mins. Much more relaxing than doing it in a rush in the mornings.0

Forgot to say, that hopefully I will be able to repay the compliment very soon. Tootles,
You've given me some ideas for what's left of my roast chicken. We had same as you today, apart from the crumble and the stuffing etc.
VickyA,
Well done with the healthy eating plan etc and the goal to lose weight. I don't know about the losing weight with me, if anything since discovering OS, I've gained weight!!! Making buns/muffins/loaves etc and dinners that I wouldn't usually do. The freezer is full to bursting and I'm giving the stuff away, just been on the phone to my mam to see if she's passing to collect one of the banana loaves I've made. I just made them to use up the bananas. If I eat them myself I'll be like a bus at this rate. Anyone want to come round to empty my freezer. I love baking/cooking etc but just don't have enough mouths to feed.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. How are we all doing?
Yesterday = ace. Went wedding dress shopping with my mum to Ilkley, and saw some really nice dresses. They gave me the web address of one of their suppliers and I've found the perfect dress. Burgundy satin, strapless  (ooer, not neccesarily sensible with my boulders :rotfl: ) but with a full length organza jacket in the same shade. So that will take care of my pasty arms, and cover the expanse of chest a bit too... :T
I've had a bit of a mixed day - lazy morning, then got my ar*e into gear and prepared for my annual appraisal tomorrow. Have printed off all my evidence emails and put into a smart folder. If nothing else, it looks good!
Then after that (3 onwards) I've been lazing about online. Not really doing much apart from a half hearted tesco shop. Bad idea to do the shopping when you don't know what you need...
Just remembered I need to go and get my work trousers out of the WM and hang up in front of the fire, or else I'll be having my appraisal in my 'jamas.
See you later, and gave a good evening.
