Afternoon everyone!
Feel like I've done loads already today - but still put to shame by most of you - done a couple of loads of washing, sadly the children seem to wear it quicker than I can wash it (though have taken to shoving some things back in the drawers unwashed, specifically dd1's clothes that the puts on for 5 mins and then changes her mind, can't be bothered to refold and shoves in the laundry bin!)
Have been to Tesco - dh needed some velcro to fix his new Sat Nav system in his car! Also needed deodorant - fairly important! And got the Sunday papers, so we can relax later.
Chicken is roasting in the oven, will reheat again later when I cook the veggies and roasties, as dd1 is off at a rehearsal until 5pm.
Made some of the cinnamon rolls, from the thread about the something gazette - they are absolutely delicious. Glad that I made the potato dough up last night and bunged it in the fridge to rise, also the children loved the loaded potato skins that I did with the outside of them last night!
Have a course tomorrow and am car less on Tuesday so will probably pop out a bit later as I have four Boots vouchers that need using by the end of the month - so will need to grab my freebies now or miss out (and I couldn't bear to waste £20.00!)
Have a great day everyone!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
So far the day has gone well,
Breakfast was a bacon buttie whilst I was preparing tea.
Lunch - 2 cumberland grillsteaks with minted potato salad.
Tea - leek, bacon and potato pie and mixed veg.
Muffins baked for school lunches tomorrow, now all I have to do is iron the uniforms and bath DD ready for school tomorrowOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Afternoon all.
I've just finished a couple of hours of frantic activity in the kitchen. First of all, a bacon and leek quiche for lunch, which we've just demolished and was one of the best quiches I've ever had, never mind made myself! If I had a halo, I'd polish it. Then, while DH and DS were munching, I put together a beef and bean casserole in the SC for dinner tonight. With a bit of sweet potato mash and some broccoli, I reckon it'll be spanking.
I got fed up with the measly, manky old sheet that we'd been using as a curtain for the back door and had a rummage in my spare curtain box. Having come up with a lurid 1960's green brocade curtain (its very funky!), that brought about a great scrubbing and a-cleaning of the door's windows and woodwork. Who knew it could look quite as presentable as it does now! Need to get some putty and seal up the six little windows, as they're letting lots of draughts in - hence the need for the curtain.I'm not sure what the birdies think of it - their cage is attached to the wall next to the door - as they're currently looking at it very suspiciously.
I've fixed the toilet seat. Now, there's a man in the house - yet I'm the one who always goes looking for a screwdriver with which to tighten up the toilet seat.Maybe I'm the only one who concerns themselves about getting bucked off by it. Aha! Of course! Being the only girl in the house, I spend more time actually sitting on it!
Next stop this afternoon is to clear up the wreckage and then attend to DS's reading and homework. Maybe then I can whip everybody up into a frenzy of enthusiasm for a game of Monopoly. Ooooh, the pace we do live at.
Moggins : definitely go for the new mattress, if you can. When DH was made redundant, one of our big investments was a pillow-top mattress. It made a whole world of difference to the level of pain I experience in the course of a day. Too many years spent either wrestling with, or falling off of motorbikes and horses has left my back a bit fragile. Being pregnant then just finally did for it!
Tootles : sounds like you need lots of tlc. Tell your OH that we here on the OS list have prescribed a long course of it, and he's the delivery boy.
Better go, there's a pile of washing up in the kitchen and I fear its got my name on it. :rolleyes2:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Washing machine is on and dishwasher has just finished.
Making lemon and garlic chicken with roast potatoes, sprouts, cabbage and carrots with yorkshire pud and gravy.
Mixed fruit strudel and custard to follow. (strudel is a frozen one but it was bogof so could not resist)
Just ordered the Tightwad gazette from Amazon - the cinnamon buns were so lovely I could not resist ordering the book. At least I agonised over it for 3 days - a year ago I would just have ordered it straight away.
To anyone thinking of getting a new mattress or bed - there is a site called the Mattress Man and they do very reasonably priced stuff with good names like Silentnight and Slumberland etc. Delivery is cheap and they deliver in a couple of days.
I am delighted with the mattress I got DD a few months ago.
If you try out beds or mattresses in a showroom so you know what you like - you could then order it from the site.
Save yourself time and money. :j"This site is addictive!"

Me again
When I went shopping, I saw a lovely, simple Mothers' Day card with a cat on the front for my Mum. It cost £2  I've decided that over Easter, I will seriously try to start card making as I can't believe (well, I can) how shops can rip you off!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
HI All,
Have been a bit of a clumsy person today. Went shopping in tescos, and nearly caught hand on edge of trolley, then went to the cafe and burnt myself on the teapot, and to top it off, got covered in water when washing the car. Never mind.
Have decided to make a soup, from duck stock, carrots, mushrooms and whatever is left in the fridge / veg rack. OH and DS are playing in the garden to give me a bit of peace! Have a good day all.

Hi All,
Going to make an effort to start postng daily again.
Have had a general tidy up all over the house today before I got side tracked on the computer. Have just listed 8 items on Ebay and after I've cleaned the kitchen I'm going to list some things on Amazon too.
Boyf has been stripping the last of the wallpaper from the spare room, so we can get the wardrobes up when they get delivered in a months time.
We;ve decided to try the Rosemary Coneley (spelling) diet to try and lose a few pounds for summer, so will be cooking a lower fat spag bol that usual for tea, will see how that goes.
Also boyf bought me a book about planning your garden and all the things you need to do in which seasons so I'll be having a good read of that tonight too.Comping Challenge

We've got the Rosemary Conley low fat cookbook and it's really good. OH has made a big batch of carrot and coriander soup today and it's really yummy. Vicky A - It'e the Jeans diet book I have, but I'm sure they're all pretty much the same. Glad the carrot and corriander soup is nice, I'm going to try that later this week . . .Comping Challenge
