Hi all!
MATH Well done, nothing like that happened when I went shopping this morning! but did get an all-in-one printer for £49.99 instead of £79.99 thanks to the Grabbit board, so quite chuffed!
Tootles Glad you are starting to feel better! I think Paris would have been too cold this weekend to enjoy walking round anyway - you are in the best place and I hope you manage to get your money back!
Nicki You poor thing, how scary! Glad to hear your OH is coming home early. ((((hug))))
Moggins Good luck to your DS at the hospital - hopefully they will be able to find out what's wrong and sort it out quickly!
P-P Sorry your DD is poorly but maybe she's given you a good reason not to go out tonight.....
I MUST tell you this - DS(20 yo) has TIDIED HIS ROOM! :j :j :j We got home from shopping, expecting to find him still asleep as he went to a club last night and got home in the wee small hours, but he was already filling the 3rd black bag! By the time he finished he'd filled five black bags and partly filled a sixth. I'd been trying to get him to do it for a very long time, as you can tell by the amount of black bags. He'd chucked loads of stuff that had been sitting on the floor for at least a year (all useless stuff, nothing to recycle). Then he took the Dyson up there! I asked what had happened, had he woken up and felt unusually energetic? He said he'd just asked himself why he was living in squalor....talk about a lightbulb moment! A friend is going to skim the walls of DS's room as "payment in kind" for having his computer fixed, so better arrange that asap before his floor fills up again - though I'm really hoping it won't, as once the walls are done they can be painted and he can have a new carpet and wardrobe.
He's even put all his cufflinks in the cufflink box that was such a bargain in Next at Christmas! He found loads of small change on the floor as well
Yours, still in shock

Evening!!
Well, I survived!! Im dead proud of myself as I went by MYSELF:eek: Got out the door to go with OH and DD and DD was sick on the drive, so thought it best if she didnt go..LOL. So OH said for me to go down, so he walked me down and I was there for 1.5hrs. I have just come home and OH has gone down to show his face, DD still being sick:rolleyes: Didnt know anyone apart from family and just avoided the ones I wanted too. The main one who is horrible has just started on the booze and OH said if he gets too gobby...he;s gonna nut himmen!!
Anyways, Im off to put another film on for DD and wait for the next round of being sick...dont you just love kids...LOL.
See ya in the morning. Hugs to all.

Ivyleaf:eek: I agree with Pooky I bet there's a female woman involved somewhere. LOL Quick get him to do the whole house and garden before they split up. hehehe
PP Well done you for getting through the party. Now you know what Kate Adey feels like always having to go off to strife torn places when she just wants to slob out and have a crack at her corns. LOLLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -

There must be something in the air today as my DS (20) has also cleaned his room this afternoon!!! ... AND hoovered both his room AND the landing! ... just a shame he couldn't quite manage to extend that to the other bedrooms though, but we can't expect miracles now, can we:rotfl:
PP - sorry to hear about your DD being ill and hope she feels better soon. Just a thought, and I might be wrong here, but has she been cleaning her hands etc thoroughly every time she handles the dragon? They do carry salmonella and one or two other nasties, and I'm not saying this is the cause of her sickness, but maybe something to just bear in mind
I've had a good whizz round this afternoon and dusted/hoovered all downstairs, cleaned bathroom and kitchen, and now kicking back with a lovely glass of wine while a huge pot of veggie sauce simmers away for dinner! Plan is to make a veggie lasagne, or maybe two (one for the freezer) or maybe just portion the surplus up and freeze it. Actually scrap that as DS has just informed me he's starving and wants his dinner NOW  ... so he can have a portion with some couscous instead, but he can damn well make it himself
Not sure what to do for the rest of the evening yet, but it will be something relaxing like reading, watching tv or just hanging around here
Enjoy your evenings!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

I was going to say the same!!! He he, boys are so funny. My brother was never tidy until he was about 16yrs old, he wouldnt let anyone into his bedroom, then demanded to have it redecorated (which sparked off a whole house redecoration) so he could have 'somewhere to chill out with me mates'. There was a bit of clutter until he got his first girlfriend at college, ever since, spick and span! He even asked me to drive him to a charity shop to offload a load of toys he still kept
I got home from work early this afternoon as I was feeling rather ill, and when I got home I crashed out until now on the sofa (I still dont know what time it is!!) and have woken up not feeling too hot at all, I think ive caught 'the bug' that has been gradually taking us all out with nasty chest infection style flu. Id rather be healthy and at work than not at the moment, its just getting interesting, what with the 'sort of' promotion and being asked out by lots of younger men!! Its not fair - I need to be healthy!!
My plan of attack is the rest of the weekend on the sofa drinking lots of warm drinks and taking painkillers to see if I can kill it before it takes hold. Here's hoping anyway.

Well I've been doing alright today, little bit jumpy but mainly fine. BUT it's now dark and I'm starting to get very jumpy and edgy  DD has said that she's going to sit up and watch Time Team with me on More4+1 until OH gets in
Unfortunatly OH got stuck in traffic at J1 of the M6 so he's going to come the rest of the way home in one go without stopping so he can get back. It's still going to take the best part of 2 hours if not longer and I'm shaking a bit at the thought of being in the house on my "own" (dd can't exactly do much since she's only 4!) in the dark but I'm going to try and keep my mind occupied so the time will hopefully fly. Good thing though is that I've managed to do all the clothes washing I had so tomorrow I only need to do 2 lots of bedding :j MOst of it was also dried on the line so the heaters won't have to be up so high to finish them off
Right, Time Team here I come

Well I don't think there is YET, but maybe he's suddenly realised there's never going to be while he sleeps on a rubbish dump! His best friend is a girl, and I'm quite fond of her, but sadly she's engaged to his second-best friend... :rolleyes:0 -
Hi all,
I've been finding it really hard to OS since I started back at work full time. I still lurk though to keep an eye on you all.I've had a good catch up week this week but I really miss being at home and having time to bake etc. I do live out of the BM and SC though - Lots of sausage casseroles with HM bread. I think the DDs will go on strike if I serve it up too often!

Evening all
Nikki how frightening for youI bet the person was just an opportunist who thought there were lights on but nobody in so he tried to have a go...how chuffin rude of him though. I hope your OH is now home and you can get a better nights sleep.
PP Sorry to hear you DD is poorlyGlad the party went well...your OH family sounds like my dads family (although they tend to stop talking to each other for years rather than resorting to voilence...well sometimes unless of course they've changed since then as I've haven't spoken to my dad for 8 years :undecided ) perhaps they're related lol. :rolleyes2
Not done much since this morning, managed to get 1 1/2 loads of washing dry but it rained while I was out so the rest is still on the line.Went to see my mum this arvo and she popped out to do something and took munch with her so I popped across the road from hers and wandered around the shops didn't spend too much though, its so much easier to go shopping without a child in tow..managed to pop to lidls and get a couple of tins of tuna...didn't think I'd ever hear myself type that. :rotfl:
I've got a couple of cereal bar recipes to try out next week and will spend tomorrow evening going through a few cookbooks to see if I find anything interesting to cook...there was a nice veg soup in Nigellas how to eat so will have to find that and write my shopping list for Monday.
Currently watching nigella on uk food, I'm going to do the rest of my clicks then go to bed. House is all locked up and DH should be home some time around 1-2am ish.
Right as you may remember I don't turn on the putta on a Sunday so I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow and I'll see you all on Monday.Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0
