Morning
Happy Birthday RCHDDAP1!!
Not alot sleep here and in alot of pain. OH is just doing me a hot chocolate and bacon sarnie in abit:D
WM is on and DW will need going on later. House is still all clean and tidy from thursday. Bedding is airing for an hr. Toilet has been cleaned and the floors will get a quick sweep and mop later.
DD has a mountain of stuff that she is sorting/putting away in her room this morning and told her she needs to become more organised for secondary in september:rolleyes:
Quiches and pizzas will be done this morning and will ice the carrot cake too. Party starts at 4pm, so we will be down there for then and just stay an hr. This way hopefully no one will be too drunk to start any arguments etc and we will be well out the way when, if any do:eek:
Breakie:bacon sarnie
Lunch:Roast dinner frozen a few days ago
Dinner:Party food, or will just have beans on toast when we get back
Resting up today otherwise. OH is awaiting his exam results and doing some bits around the home, and DD has her room, homework and some other bits to do.
Will catch up later.

Morning SnowyOwl & everyone else when you arrive.
I'm posting whilst eating my breakfast 'cos I have to go to work in a few minutes.
***!!HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU RCHDDAP1!!***
Sorry for copying Snowy but I thought it looked great.
I had a sucessful afternoon yesterday. She did a good job of cutting my hair so I'm pleased with that & I found a good quality dress & top for work & a 'faux' (doesn't that make you howl) sheepskin, casual handbag in the charity shop for a grand total of £14.50. Everything looks brand new & fits well so I'm feeling smug this morning.
I hope everyone who has been feeling poorly is a little better this morning. I'll have to wait 'til tomorrow to catch up with your news 'cos I'm not allowed at work & we're going out tonight, dinner & live music to celebrate a mate's birthday.
Have a brilliant day everyone.

Morning!
Ive stopped posting on the daily threads for the moment as ive been really busy, and my posts are boring anyway so ill post when I have something to say I think.
Ive got to go to work today (ive got three Saturdays in a row, then 10 days off!!! Yey!) and finish at 3pm, im hoping I have a good day as two of colleagues seriously annoyed me yesterday by doing no work when the bosses were off. I will be bringing that up in my next meeting as they left me on my own when security means they shouldnt and proceeded to chat while I did all the grafting.
Boyf went to london yesterday so I had a night by myself which was quite nice, he's back today though. Got asked out by TWO customers this week (making my total 3 in two weeks - what the hell is going on??) and one was actually quite nice - but didnt mention that bit to boyf!! Quite flattering really.
Plans for after work involve going food shopping and trying to limiting spends to the bare essentials so ill make a list at work, ive decided to drive in today to make it easier, and I opened myself an equity ISA this week as ive decided that alongside paying off debt quickly (savings in my cash ISA so im earning interest on a 0% interest o/d) I want some actual long term savings, its just £20 a month until my debts are paid off, so ill increase it a bit then. Ive also sorted out my pension plans (I have a pension!!) and ive realised im working for a really good company, they are sending out nurses etc to give everybody health checks which is of course optional, and are there to help us make small changes that will benefit us.
Anyway, id better get ready as ive gotta go to the petrol station and the post office too!

Good morning everyone,
Happy birthday RCHDDAP1!!!!
I had a lovely day at a very good friends house yesterday, her mum (up near Luton) had been to Cosco, and bought her a load of cleaning stuff, and my friend gave me a load of it, as she had so much!!!! So now my cupboards are bursting with loo rolls, cleaning stuff (including DW tablets and washing powder!!!) She also treated us to a chinese take away and some wine, so i was thourghly spoilt!!!! All the children played lovely together as well, so a good time had by all.
So, today, taking DS to football (early kick off today, hence the fact im up, washed and dressed before 8am on a Saturday!!!) so what a morning i have in store, had a really bad night last night, so couldve done without that really, but he loves it so a very cold muddy field, here we come!!!! Hopefully we will be home nice and early tho, so bacon sarnies all round, and prob a bath for me, to help me warm up!!!! Then lovely friend from yesterday is coming around to us, im cooking curry queens chicken korma so hoping she will be impressed!!!!! So hopefully, we will have a nice afternoon/evening and the children will play well like they did yesterday, makes our job a lot easier!!!! Must whip the hoover around before they get here tho, but will do that while lunch is cooking. The rest of the house is ok, so will have a proper blitz tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Haven't been around much - been reading the "M**** Diet" and with half term and other commitments as well, needed to "lead by example"
(shock, horror) this Diet book isn't about Money  but makes fascinating reading. If you are a parent and your child/ren spent more time that you think is healthy on a computer or in front of a TV; or if you're not sure how much time is deemed "healthy", you may well want to read it (got my copy from the library - first one to borrow it too, which was a nice change
) or you could check out the website for an overview: The Media Diet
Library this morning, swimming this afternoon and ... not sure what tonightNeed to get the washing done inbetween too, but that's no big deal.
B: Boiled eggs and marmite soldiers
L: Potage (d11yo has made it, all part of his "medieval" theme), with rollsBolognaise Sauce with pasta and salad
Posted the March PMS Challenge Thread for those who use it. It's amazing to think that this is the final month for our first year of pin money savings - time certainly does fly by!!

Morning all
Queenie it's lovely to see you here. I only asked where you were about a week ago
Happy Birthday RCHDDAP1!!
Not much old style going on for me today either I thinkI've woken up in tremendous pain this morning but I have taken some painkillers and I'm hoping I might be able to move when they finally kick in. DH took over the computer again yesterday afternoon and evening but he's working tonight so is going to be in bed all day so I can stay here as long as I like
DS's hospital appointment has finally come through for Tuesday so I'm hoping we can find out what is wrong with him, get it sorted and he can get back to normal again. He's really missing riding his bike and stuff.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Good morning all
Yesterday was a bit full on, 7 kids for tea was fun though - they all mucked in to help and all declared my mash to be better than anything they'd ever tasted..........kids are easily pleased sometimes. DD's had a lovely time at their disco and DD1 has fallen head over heels in love and had her first slow dance and kiss..bless.....wouldn't you love to be 10 again!
Popped to the local "outlet" village yesterday. Got both DD's new tracksuit bottoms and nice T-shirts to match, reduced to £1.07 for the T's and £2.59 for the bottoms.....good sporty make too so they're more than happy. Got DD2 a pair of those awful fluffy pink yeti boots, she's wanted them for ages but I refused to pay for something that was going to be ruined the first time she wore them...found them £49.99, reduced and reduced to £3.99 with 20% off....£3.20ish wasn't bad, made her day. Popped into M&S too, got DD2 a pair of jeans, a top and a lovely cardi, came to £26 and I had £25 worth of vouchers left from Xmas.....I was pleased with my haul.
Went to tescos whilst DD's were at their disco - got chicken breasts and thighs on offer and stocked up on more BOGOF flour. Treated ourselves to half a crispy duck for last night, it was awful though - DH is taking it back this morning on his way back from work.
Loads to do this morning - it's quite sunny so will get in the shed for a bit of a sort later, must get some washing on too..
Brekkie - Toast and cereal
Lunch - Errmmmm - raid the fridge time
Dinner - DH is doing a curry.
Hugs to all those who need them."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning to all! Happy birthday RCHDDAP1, hope its a great day with lots of good things.
Big soothing hugs go out to everybody in pain or poorly. Keep warm, drink lots, look after yourselves.
La Casa PoshPaws is today immersed in efforts to keep DS and DH amused in the hope that they don't drive each other crazy. I'm not too sure what form that amusement is going to take .. but one is currently drinking tea and watching the Olympics and the other is in the bath, enveloped in Darth Vader bubblebath. I leave it to you to guess which is which. :rotfl:
DS and I had a moment of high drama, this morning, when it became apparent that there was a mouse trapped in the bottom of the dog food bin. Jonty (he of the avatar) was transfixed, staring at the bin and trying to work out how to get at the little monster. I took the bags out and there it was, stuck at the bottom of the bin. DS was, by this time, shut in the bathroom and standing on the bathroom chair. :rotfl: I managed to convince him that the boy-eating mouse was safely contained and it was okay to come out, by taking the bin (with mouse) and the dog outside to the garden (which was a bit parky taters, when dressed in just a nightshirt!). Having tipped the bin over, the mouse shot out inbetween the fearless hunter's front paws and disappeared behind the barbecue. The fearless hunter, meanwhile, was wondering which way his quarry had gone. ~sigh~ Ah well, at least the little blighter is outside!
I can see that, now next door have moved out and taken their four cats with them, I'm going to have to get the mouse bait back out again.
So, aside from that, I've resolved to spend some time sorting out the several disaster zones that are in this house. I started with the underside of the coffee table last night - and several bags of boxed games and Action Man magazines have found their way back to DS's bedroom.Today's target is "History Corner" in our dining room .. which is currently choc-a-block with kites and books that wouldn't fit into the bookcase. The kites can move upstairs to DS's wardrobe, which has lots of low-level space and the books can get organised into "Ebay" or "Non-Ebay", in which case they can go back into the bookcase. Well, that's the plan.
Yesterday's lemon curd is a revelation of gorgeousness. Had it for brekkie on two slices of h/m chocolate bread - totally divine.

L : Couscous salad with mackerel
D : Tuna pasta bake:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Im making rice puddin gin my sc for the first time today, Im really excited about it and obviously easily pleased
After that we are going to 'live off the land' as I like to call it, which is basically using what we have left at the back of the cupboards etc, only 4 days until payday, then my os really kicks in as Ive planned my meals down to the last mouthful. I actaully cant wait to be more organised and cook more.
Thanks everyone for your help and have a fantastic weekend.

Morning all!!
Up early this morning due to DS2 insisting it was time to go downstairs!!
Have beef stew (courtesy of CQ's recipie) in SC - this is only my 2nd attempt at using it, so don't know how it'll turn out!! My first attempt was not successful! Only thing is that DS1 is now going to the cinema then Franki & Benny's with my sister for my nephew's birthday and I'll have my 3 year old niece to look after and feed (aswell as my 3 year old!) - don't know if she'll appreciate the stew - but will give it a try!! DH is off to the footy later!
DW has just finished, have put all ironing away (that I did last night) and need to put WM on before we go out to the shops - it's DH's birthday tomorrow, so I need to get him something from the children - don't know what though
No other major plans for today - need to do some housework, when I get the chance!
Nice to see you back Queenie!!!!!!
