Sorry to hear about your trip TOOTLES , hope you get things sorted out with your doctor so you don't lose the money too
Hope everyone who is unwell today starts to feel a bit better over the weekend. I've got a really sore throat myself today, which is a bummer because I am only back to work this week after being off for 3 weeks with tonsillitis - I hope it isn't coming back!
At work today, heading home after 1pm to collect DS and DD from my mum, they are on half days this week so childminding arrangements are all over the place. Why do schools do these things!!
WM on and another waiting to be hung out/put in dryer - was too rushed this morning. Will buzz around house with me hoover and me duster and give the place a once over, clean bathroom also. Then to make a bday cake for a friend and promised kids they could make fairy cakes - so I imagine additional cleaning required after that :rotfl: I suppose the sensible thing would be to bake then clean while they were cooking - maybe I will change the plans!
OH will be on Nightshift so quiet night with control of the remote ! Think I will watch the kids Charlie and the choc factory DVD, havent had a chance to watch it yet.
B: oats so simple (no "proper" porridge left)
L: left over bean casserole and brown rice from last night & yogurtSW chips, egg and beans
Have a good day folks, and enjoy the weekend!0 -
Hello to everyone, I can't believe how nice everyone is on the OS board :j
Sorry to hear about your trip tootles, bet it's making you feel even worse to miss it than you did already - hopefully the doctor will come up trumps with a note.
Pretty much the same here as everywhere else - some snow that began to settle but has now disappeared, I knew it was snowing when the dog started to go mad - he just couldn't understand why white flakes kept landing in his garden and on him!
I seem to have caught the sore throat that has been doing the rounds - is it possible that you can catch stuff over the internet!
Day started well as I thought I was running late and then found out my watch was fast, so had half an hour more than I though to get children ready! Postie bought lots of goodies, well Boots vouchers for some free stuff, and some stuff I'm testing - Catowen you won't be the only one with a thoroughly "wiped" kitchen. Also received a book about where to park in central London - may make it cheaper, will have to have a read later. And the veggie box man delivery included some avocados, so a nice salad with a garlicky mayonnaise dressing for lunch!
Anyway children all gone, mum has phoned to say that she received the freebie I applied for on her behalf, so I'm definitely in her good books today, dh is off out and about, and I've got the day to myself. Have done WM, TD and DW - all whirring happily/waiting to be put away (feel that I couldn't post on here before getting jobs done) Considered tidying dds' room, but that is on their list of chores, so will help them when they get home!
So will play about here for a bit, along with listening to some stuff on Radio 7 that I missed, and will hopefully catch up with emailing all the friends that I haven't seen recently from my "real" life!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

:rotfl: I know what you mean - sometimes the people on here put me to shame when they have acheived so much by 9am!!
I'm ok when I am off work but when I'm in work it all goes pear shaped - I haven't managed to co-ordinate the 2 yet!0 -

It doesn't seem to matter whether it's a work day or not (actually that should be evening/night, which is when I work part time!), I think I'm probably just missing the housework gene! But posting here means that more seems to be getting done - I can just see me explained to dh that if I spend more time on the pooter then more housework will get done :rotfl:GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

I'm exactly the opposite - when I'm at work I KNOW I have limited time so even though I leave at 7am I usually prepare the evening meal before I go & I ALWAYS make my packed lunch. I then get one room done each day when I get home. I do that so I don't have to spend my precious weekend cleaning.
When I'm at home, like today, I get into 'all the time in the world' mode & all of a sudden it's lunchtime & I've hardly started. I've done OK today & got the cleaning done this morning but only because I'm off to have my hair cut this afternoon so I have a deadline.
I'm obviously just one of those people who needs a bit of pressure to motivate them (must make sure I don't tell my boss that)!0 -
Hi Yall,
No snow here in the emids this morning just cold and grey! Beds are all stripped an remade and the last load of washing for the day has just started its spin. Vaccing and dusting done and bathroom bleached down (kitchen done yesterday) I'm with you Mummysaver I don't allow myself to come on Ol'Style until I've broke the back of most of my jobs. I usually combine a little Ol'Style with lunch and then crack on again.
Mrs MATH cooks on a Firday night so I don't have to bother too much in the kitchen today which is just as well cos I've got a run-around evening with the MATHLETTS various clubs, activities and rehearsals. Bang goes another Friday night in my jimjams and bedsocks by 7. I'll pobably miss most of American Idol as well.
Counting the hours to next Friday when I shall flee this coop and head for the coast for the first stay of 2006(YAY) Mrs MATH has decided it's going to be too cold so she's staying here while I take the MATHLETTS for the weekend. They're chuffed cos they get Friday off school so we can get there in plenty of time to turn water, gas, leccy, heat back on, get beds made up and get the place back out of winter storage while it is still light. Hopefully all will be sorted in time for the chippy on the seafront opening
Moggins Hope you feel better as the day wears on and thta you find some time to relax.
Poshpaws Will PM you chicken.
PP One of the downsides of being such a good cook LOL I've got a list as long as my arm of things needing cooking for our Church lunch on Sunday. Hope you get through the party unscathed.
Tootles Hope you feel better soon. Maybe you could have a holiday in the UK this year and even if not able to bask in the sun you could warm yourslef by the glow of all the money yopu will save. Having said that teh MATHLETTS and me had loads of great hot beach days last year.
Skintmama Paid2click ain't difficult - I can do it and I have to ask my 5 year old to get the DVD working for me LOL
Freyaluck IKWYM If the MATHLETTS are too ill for school I like them to be ill enough not to want to move about or make any noise. Snoring is allowed tho LOL. That not quite well enough for school phase drives me bonkers too.
Cha97michelle I will PM you 2 chicken
TM Though of you last night, no I wasn't watching Grumpy Old Women LOL;)
I got a book from the library yesterday "Child of the north" Memories of a northern childhood by Piers Dudgeon and Josephine Cox. Josephine Cox was born and lived in Blackburn and it's all about your neck of the woods. Maybe you library will have it if you're interested.
Have a good day
MATHxLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
hope every starts to feel better soon (especailly tootles - so sorry about the paris trip!).
i'm off down to london for the weekend, but in true money saving style have booked a £1 each way coach for the journey. With all the reports of snow, I'm not looking forward to that at all!!
left everything in a mess this morning after taking weekend bag to work. i didn't have time to sort things out so will have to deal with it all on sunday nighti should try and be as organised as everyone else on here and plan in advance better!
hope everyone has a lovely weekend, and the rest of today in fact.:happyhear0 -
I'm so glad it's not snowing today. I'm working from home with several quick trips over to the new house to meet tradesmen for quotes. It may be only a 10min walk, but it's very exposed and freezing in the wind.
So far have had a roofing bloke over who says my small rotten facia & detached flashing job actually needs to be blown up into replacing the whole flat roof. I think i'll get 2 or 3 more opinions on that one.
Meeting electrician at 2pm & locksmiths coming over at the same time. I went into the cupboard under the stairs to check out funny appliance on the wall & it seems there is an alarm system in the house, just not working properly. The lock people are supposed to do a free security check so maybe i'll get them to look at it.
Found a nasty surprise in that cupboard as well, pulled up a loose end of the carpet to get at some unk to find myself looking into the foundations of the house & a pile of rubbish that has gone down the hole. Another  Maybe that's where the damp problems are from though.
Anyway enough wibbling on the new house saga - I will probably be posting on the 'In my Home' & 'Is it fair' boarda all next week when the written quotes come through.
:grouphug: everyone feeling unwell, especially tootles. i had something similar a couple of years back and got my refund when i offered to go and throw up all over the lady's desk at the travel office to prove i was sick.Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0 -
I'm now home and chilling
The morning didn't go too badly. I prewarned the parents that I did not have time to stop for them to have a meal out today so I was back by 1pm and DH was home before me so he helped me unload the car and put the shopping away.
For all you sewers out there Lidl are selling a sewing kit thingy for £1.99. It's got all sorts of fasteners , seam rippers, scissors, tape measure etc. It was worth far more than the £1.99 I paid for it.
Don't forget next week they are having all the gardening stuff in on Thursday. I'm after a couple of the £3.49 cloches.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
