Morning all.
Tootles - so sorry about the trip.
Off to the PO this morning to post some Tesco clubcard vouchers to turn into Ferry vouchers for a trip to see family at Easter. Have some old ones so I can't do it online. Other than that it's just me, the WM and the Dyson - I have such an exciting life!! - On the other hand I could be at work......
I was going to take the wally trolley out for a trip but most of thre schools here are still on half term - I'm not up to that kind of exposure yet!
Won't be repeating yesterday's lunch. When I was in Tesco they were selling off frozen HE ready meals for 20p so I got a couple of Thai curry and rice for a handy lunch. Is it really food? It was disgusting - the other one will feed the dog - still quite a cheap meal for hiim at 20p. Urrrrgh! Now I know why I don't buy ready meals - there would be a riot in this house if I fed the family that.
Dinner is chicken fajitas - favourite with the kids as they like the self assembly bit and the chicken, peppers and tortillas were all on offer.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Mornin' all,
Tootles - So sorry to hear that you've not managed to go on your trip to Paris. However, if you're feeling that rough, the best thing to do is to be wrapped up warm and given plenty of TLC from your DH ((((hugs))))
DH came back last night from France, so house is back to normal
Very grey here this morning, I did think it was snowing for a couple of mins, then realised it was sawdust swirling around!
Slept from 22:00 until 06:00 fairly erratically, cat kept coming in. Woke up with nasty tonsils again, but painkillers have now kicked in, so we're getting there!
Well, we shall be visiting Worcester tomorrow, so I shall wave at Thriftlady and TapLady. DD has her mumps vaccine tomorrow, so it shall be out for pizza afterwards to cheer her up!
B - Herbal tea
S - Blueberry muffins (I'm sure there's at least 1 left!)
L - Leftover pork / butterbean casserole
D - Dunno, mealplanner is on wall .. but DH is cooking.
.... out of curiousity, DH put washing in WM last night .... do you think he will ever manage to remember it is in there all by himself and then do something with it?? Or will I be the normal an** retentive person, and not manage to last longer than an hour before I go and hang it out??!?!?GC - March 2024 -0 -
Tootles big (((((Hugs)))) hope you feel better soon.
THriftmonster I was think of getting a wally trolly as I have to factor in to my shopping buget the cost of taxi's, though it was my kids who ridiculed me.
Well todays a busy day that will acheive very little, got to go into town to pick up my transcripts ( fingers crossed that I passed all last terms work). Then off to work to hand in my notice as have been offered a job closer to home. Though need to try and pick some curtains up for DS room, though as we have just moved into the house and he has no idea what colour he would like his room, I may well come back empty handed.
Have a good day all
Breakfast Toast and jam
Lunch Something on the go
Dinner Not sure yetGC: £400/ £00 -
Moggins Sorry to hear your arthritis is playing you up, hope the cold is not making it worse. My husband's computer is trashed because he did not look after it properly so now comandeers my own special christmas present laptop, so know how you feel. Fortunately he has not got into playing games as I have very meanly banned everyone from playing games on here
tootles That is rough, feeling too ill to go on holiday but probably a wise decision. Hope all gets sorted for you soon.
Hugs to all other poorly and sleep deprived folk, roll on the Spring so it can warm up and make everyone feel better.
pp It sounds like you are contributing the buffet single handed. That's the trouble with being OS, people know you can cook!
Math Thanks for the paid2click info. After the half term finishes here I will see how I get on. Hope it is not too complicated as it takes me a while to get the hang of things
No visible snow here so may end up having kids force me to drive off in search of it on the high moor. Not keen, as once ended up sliding off the road  although no harm done fortunately.
DD and DH shopped last night and only came home with a few things extra to the list; 1 litre smoothie (on special offer), plums and Value chocolate spread. Think I might give them a gold star
Hope you all manage to have a happy and safe day.0 -

DD 6 yo still at home she has the flu which is going round  , but still well enough to drive me potty.
still lots of cleaning to do, changed the lounge round last night and sorted through the kids toys.
I will pop back later
hug to all

Morning All!
Tootles - so sorry to hear that your trip is off! Get yourself to the doctor to see if you can claim back the cost of the trip on your insurance. Then you can re-book for a later date when, hopefully, you will be feeling much more like taking a holiday!
Work again for me today. DS is back at the leisure centre playscheme.
B - Cereals/Toast
D - Cheese & chutney sanwiches (HM bread -yum!)
T - Possibly HM lasagne if I get home early, otherwise 'freezer surprise"!
I'm looking forward to the weekend and I am feeling quite pleased with myself as I haven't spent much this week at all. I have some items listed on ebay but only one is selling at the moment. I will wait for the last-minute rush on bids for my items (hopefully). I plan to list some more on there this weekend too. I plan to have a regular ebay session where I list all the junk I currently have in my loft taking up space. I would like to have a trot round some of my local charity shops this weekend too. I bought some books there last week that I was very pleased with.
Oh well, must go and get some work done!
Have a good day all!

Good morning OSers :hello:
tootles - :grouphug: - what a bummer. I hope there's something you can do about getting a doctor's note so you can claim on insurance. Also obviously hope you feel better soon! Same goes for moggins, PP and anybody else currently not feeling 100%.
I've got a streaming nose but nothing else wrong, so with luck it won't develop into a full-blown head cold - not before choir on Sunday anyway. Trying to remember what we're singing - Brahms and something else I think.
Well my pay went in this morning complete with my bonus, and after tax and NI the value of my bonus was just a few pence short of £350 :T :T :T which is actually slightly better than my rough calculation of the "best case scenario"! My monthly budget has 48p slack in it anyway (which normally goes straight into the "pin money" pot) so I made it up to a round £350, topped up my savings (I now "own" all the money in my ISA rather than some of it being "stoozed"!) and budgeted for my opera trip to Cardiff in December which I'll need to book the tickets for in about a month. Combined with the two months' "spare" council tax money, I even managed to squeeze an extra £10 for this week's spending money, which is good cos I'm running low on my grocery budget and the heel caps on the shoes I'm wearing are in urgent need of replacement.
Cooked a chicken pasta bake last night, got my dinner + 4 portions out of it so that's what I've got for my lunch today. It's slightly different from my usual recipe as I had a red chilli pepper to use up and some (reduced MONTHS ago) tomato and mascarpone sauce in the freezer, so it's slightly cheesier and with more of a kick than my usual.
I am now debating whether it's practical to spend tomorrow slow-cooking that ham hock I got from Blackheath farmers' market last week. Being cured and vacuum-packed, it'll keep - there was a use-by date on the pack but it was almost a month away. The problem is that I have very limited fridge and freezer space, especially since stocking up on all that reduced fish and chicken the other day! But it looks sooooo yummy and I'm really looking forward to it, so I'm sure I'll manage
Off to the opera tonight - not the same one as Katgoddess is going to - I've got a £9 standing ticket to see Macbeth (the opera) at the Royal Opera House. Saw the same production when it was last on in 2002, so can't justify splashing out another £6 on a programme which will have all the same articles as last time. They do freebie mini-programmes which just tells you the cast and how long each act is. I might be able to get a proper programme for free at some point anyway cos I have a friend in the show who might blag one for me
I started writing this message at 9:30am but was pulled into a meeting with my boss so have only just come back to it - so I'll have cross-posted with loads of people by now. Sorry therefore if I haven't said anything I should have to anyone
More later

Morning everyone,
Sorry to hear you have had to cancel your trip tootles. it's not fair is it. I know that you were looking forward to it.
i have had an eventful morning. I woke up early, luckily as DH was sleeping in for work.
I then had a lovely bubble bath (as in feb is use up month), but then managed to fall down the stairs. I don't know how, my feet just seemed to disappear from under me. I can be so clumsy at times. I've hurt the bottom of my back, an my elbow, luckily on my left arm so i can still get on.
i don't know how much i will get through one armed though. Luckily the cats are being very affectionate, and made me feel better.
Math - can i be a pain and ask for the paid2clicks stuff too. i've been inspired by kiwichicks post yesteray as i already do some of them, and would be interested in the ones that you do. Might as well make some of the time i spend on the computer more productive.
anyway, i'm going to have to walk around a bit as my back is stiff. the snowdrops are out here in my garden too, an have been for a few weeks, so i guess spring might be somewhere close.
enjoy your day
