Thanks Math, we did do the pocket money thing, we each had £100 a month to spend on 'non-essentials'. Trouble was this only worked when his credit card was maxed out because it meant he could only spend what I had paid off it, and then I found my £100 was being eaten up by stuff the kids needed and buying birthday presents etc so I never ended up with anything for myself anyway.

Don't get me wrong, I am proud of my charity shop bargains, I just feel a little hard done by when he goes out and comes back with another 4 DVD's (Saturday) and is now talking about needing a new suit (he has 2 and goes to work in jeans and sweatshirts).

I know exactly where you are coming from. One minute you can be really proud of what you achieve and the next think "why bother":o It doesn't sound as though he is mature enough to have credit cards of his own - can't you get em off him?

I've already told him one is going in the freezer :D If I hadn't applied for a Marbles 0% card for him he would still be paying 26% interest on his Citicard :(

Just glad that my husband is not like that.

When I say that it is cold and I don't want to turn the heating on he goes. Put it on if you are cold and don't worry about the bill and I am like

I am the one that goes around turning everything off. And turning the thermostat down etc.

But he is a goodie and if I say you need to take this back to a shop he goes ok and takes it back for refunds etc. As I a little mouse.

Anyway had a good and bad day. Postie was kind to me. £50 amazon voucher from Ipoints :j But I am struggling to spend it :o . Bought a new mobile as the old one is as old as the hills well 5 years old and has seen better days. And Martins Moeny Diet book. I could have borrowed from the library but the speed my husband reads at we might need it for sometime. And £10 in boots vouchers from pigsback :j will put those away for birthday pressie later on in the year.

Then tonight husband told me that he might have to take some unpaid leave as work is rather light at work at the moment

Not sure how much and how long for. But next month is going to be blinking tight. As he needs to tax the car at the end of this month. And in March he has to pay his archery subs so. looks like bread and water next month. needed to loose weight anway way :rotfl:

Need to get off my lardy backside and get a job that might help.

    Yours

    Calley

Msybe we could all join a club - I could name it - but not on an open site :rotfl:

Anyway, for those who are interested, Lidl are doing Wally-trolleys as one of their specials on 9th Feb (that's those wheeled shopping trolleys, used by old ladies and now re-invented as "the" thing to be seen with, by OSers) Assorted colours - maybe we could get one of Martin's car stickers on them :rotfl: £7.99. They do appear throughout the year as well.

Do say if you get one - I'm seriously tempted 1) to annoy the pants off Mr TM and 2) so I don't break my arms any more carting all my fruit/veg and meat back from the market :D

(Do ya think they'll do one to match old trackies and moon boots :D:D)

Why are they so laid back
I thought mine was making an effort last month when we went shopping and picked the Smart Price items instead of the normal ones (I would have picked SP but picked the slightly dearer ones thinking he would say get the SP as we are trying to save money) - he knows what we have to do !!

i must say that he is otherwise the most laid back loving man you could meet - he would do anything for me if and when asked - but I dont want to ask all the time as it feels like nagging

I can say "can you do X tomorrow when I am at work" - yes - get home job not done - leave him a very long list - it is all done

Sorry for moaning - my problems are v trivial compared to others. I love this board as I feel you are all like my mum - My mother left us when I was 13 - I had a Stepmum who was great but she died 8 yrs ago and my MIL died 2 yrs ago - I dont have anyone to bounce off except the lady who I get a run to work with and she is just lovely.

    Thanks for listening

Hope you all have a lovely sleep

    Love

Very late addition to this thread for me.. havent been on for days properly. Just thought id post to give hugs to everyone who needs them (((((hugs))))) :grouphug:

Been busy last few days as been sorting stuff out in personal life. Have decided after much soul searching and careful consideration to start speaking to my ex boyfriend again. Split about 2 months ago after some trouble involving him getting into trouble with the police which i was clueless about until he had to be in court so was really hurt by angry/dissapointed with him .... then his "friends" telling me lies about him and the situation and making me feel so dissapointed/upset/hurt/angry and sad that i walked out of his life "for good". By a twist of fate maybe.. he rang my number by accident the other day.. and we got talking... have now sorted the lies from the truthes... i think.... and after lots of talking/crying/thinking/debating have decided to talk again and try and be friends and then see what happens. Just hope by following my heart instead of my head... im not being foolish?! :o

One thing that has come from it is hes a Scouts leader... before we broke up he mentioned maybe me getting involved and i really liked the idea as id love to work with kids n stuff...... Hes recently just took over a new group though and its got 6 kids... 5 of which are girls :rotfl: So they really need a female leader to help out and cant find anyone to take the role..... Guess whos been roped into it? YUP! Me... i start my training to be a scouts leader on Monday..... never done anything like it before... i lasted only ONE night at brownies when i was younger!! :o So could be a bit of an adventure....for me more than the kids i'll be leading!!! :rotfl: Sure i'll be ok though (she says now but is secretly panic striken)...And anyway how more old style could you get building your own shelters and cooking on a camp fire? :D

    Morning All

At last I get to be the one to start one of these threads:rotfl: Am having a terrible night with Spud who just WON'T sleep, been up since 1.20am so I give up. I'll survive on 4 hours sleep, I've done it before:eek::p:rolleyes::eek: Had a bit of a flip out at hubby who has a habit of completey ignoring his cries & staying in bed night after night after night after night...just once in a while he could get up couldn't he?

Have cleaned the kitchen, sorted out 2 drawers, put the yogurt maker on & now I'm drinking warm milk (think the hot water & lemon might be a bit pointless this morning). Later I'm taking Spud to his baby signs & music session, if he's awake for it:rotfl:, then I'm deep cleaning the living room then collapsing on the sofa. Well, at least thats the plan!

B : Humm...might get something nice as I'm awake & not in a rush. Maybe pancakes?
    L : Quiche
D : supposed to be Salmon & cous-cous but might have turkey escllopes as we didn't get round to having them last night due to massive left over sausage casserole!

    Have a good day everyone;)

    'Morning Lillibet :hello:

Oh dear, what a night you have had! I know from past experience that it does get better, but that's not much help now. Try to get a nap yourself when Spud takes his during the day. If something else doesn't get done, then it can wait. You need to get enough sleep.

When mine were little, OH and I had an agreement that as he was working he would take the Friday and Saturday night crying sessions and leave me to sleep. I also found that the eldest was soothed by the sound of music with a bit of a beat to it ... so baby apple_mint was soothed by the lullaby sounds of Black Sabbath, early Fleetwood Mac etc :rotfl:

All I can say about this week is 'thank goodness it's Friday'. I'm going to come home tonight, shut out the world and be completely OS. Will surface on Saturday to go the Farmers Market - but I plan to be away from stress, awkward people and traffic queues :wall:

I'm going to peruse my recipe books and make some nice meals for my freezer.

Have a lovely OS day everyone
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D
