Moggins - you've chosen the right place to have your moan. It must be so difficult when you're doing everything you possibly can to save money so your family can have a nice life & then your DH ruins it all by being so careless.
Partners can be so thoughtless but I think you'll only feel worse if you hit the credit card. Are you able to discuss it with him when you're feeling calmer? If not, maybe you could write down how you feel & ask for his support that way.
I hope the situation gets better for you soon. :grouphug:0 -

Sorry you are having such a rotten time.
Does DH realise that you are scrabbling for every penny while he is chucking cash around like a drunken sailor?
Would he notice if some of the older dvds were to be sold on Amazon?
Big hug."This site is addictive!"

I'd think your dh and my dh were brothers - only Mr TM doesn't have any brothers. I keep getting the 'it's only money' routine - but they don't realise that we become obsessed with money - not because we are loaded and selfish, but because we aren't and we begrudge giving away our (even if HE did earn most of it) hard earned cash.
Mr TM is now so bad - that he doesn't have to think about anything - other than his job and his hobbies. I was pondering this today. I sorted out getting his car and the insurance, and will no doubt have to sort our repairing his old car so we can flog it. The trouble with this, is that as it's in my name, I can't drive it on my insurance - you should have seen his face when I suggested HE MAY have to take the car to a garage. He doesn't think about ANY of the household expenses, how much our grocery bill is, clothing, kids shoes, trips etc. I pay his CC's online, I sort out repairs and improvements to the house, cars, garden, arrange holidays, Xmas, birthdays, what to eat and when, what the kids wear (unless I want them looking like rag and bone men) - the list goes on.
My only saving grace is that after many years, I've got him to open a joint account - into which only his money goesI can then scarf off any larger amounts into e-savings until needed and anything spare goes into a multitude of savings accounts - whoops - all in my name  (my excuse - I don't pay tax
)
However, it's bl00dy hard work!! We have very little spare cash and I spend hours robbing Peter to pay Paul. Just before Xmas he used 118866 - £1.50  When I asked him yesterday, I got the rolled eyes and 'whatever'.
However, we need a new oven and hob so I have started looking for what I want, then when I have the money - off I go and buy itAnd it won't be cheap!
Whoops - wasn't going to have a rant, but there again, we all get on here to blow off some steam, don't we ?Anyway, for what it's worth, you're not on your own

Thanks TM and Omega for the PM and everyone else. It's good to know we're not alone, perhaps we should band together and work out ways to beat them at their own game.
I've managed to cut his trips into town to 'buy his magazine' (which usually meant a trip to the DVD shops) by buying a subscription for his magSaved 35% on the cover price too
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

(((( Moggins & TM )))))) Can I join the awful men club too? Mine just went to Tesco to stock up on beer when I told him his half of the rent is due on Monday. Just had an argument with some stupid fool from 3 who thinks he could sell a mobile to my 'partner'. His whole manner annoyed me so I gave him an earful. His opening line was 'I want to speak to the man of the house', and then said, 'Listen, Lady, Im not asking for your information, I want to speak to your partner'. Grrrrr...... dont ever call me a lady as if im some victorian mouse of a wife, because this woman will take your head off if you cross her!!!. Felt good to put him in his place anyway!
Jo xx
Edit - Forgot to mention that me lemon curd is lovely and tangy, and ive finally cracked the whole soft bread in the BM thing! Woohoo!!!#KiamaHouse0 -
(((moggins))) Words fail me - you must be a :A .
I know it's little comfort but imagine what a mess you'd be in if you wern't so savvy. Mrs MATH isn't as MSE (she would say tight) as I am but I have to put up with nothing compaired to you hun. The other real benefit is she realises I'm the money brains and is quite happy to be treated like a child. All money is in my account and she has £60 pocket money a week for all her bits 'n' bobs and petrol. I don't know if this would work in your case tho.
I really don't know what elese to suggest that wouldn't end you up in jail;)
((HUGS))
TM. I'm sure you can wind Mr TM around your little finger. A sugestive hitch up of ya bobbly track pant to reveal a saucy moon boot and he's putty in ya hands:p You just can't see it with ya fringe sticking over one eye like a yard of pump water.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0
