Evening everyone.
At work again today, whilst DS is on half term hols. I have no more holidays left and need my flexi to take mum to eye hospital next week. He was at a football course today at the local leisure centre. At £10.50 it is half the price his school charge for holiday care! He is on a split of 3 days playscheme/football and 2 days mum's.
That means I had to make two packed lunches this morning and DS eats like a horse. STill, I didn't spend any money today, on anything! Yay.
I want to curl up now on the sofa with my Dan Brown book and a mug of chocolate. I don't think I will last long either. I'll be asleep by 9pm I think, dog-tired tonight.
PP - Hope you are soon feeling better.
Frugglewump - Congrats on getting your keys. Great that there is so much stuff in there too. I still have a chest of drawers that someone gave me when I first moved into my very first flat 17 years ago. It has had a facelift (rubbed down and re-varnished) but it is still going strong.
Math - What are Paid2Clicks? Can anyone join in? Good luck to Mrs Math in the next stage of the job process. Fingers crossed!
RZL - great news about the bonus. Unexpected cash is always fantastic!
Has anyone heard from Jo? She's normally such a regular on this thread. I love hearing about the 'boyf', he makes me smile!
Right then, off to find a blanket to snuggle up in

Er... yes... nice meal with fresh salmon, DH & DS had some lovely meatballs & chips...
And we bought a couple of things, too. Batteries (10 AAs for just over £1) some light bulbs, 2 £1 candles and a set of 2 washing up brushes for 39p!
Last of the big spenders!
Actually, I just like going there - keep looking at the kitchens, ours needs doing but we haven't saved up enough yet.0 -
I've been looking at the online catalouge for food storage ideas since reading your thread. Like the look of the glass ones. Now if only there was a way to get throught the store without following their little footpath system..............................i got lost last time:oWW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0

I don't mind the footpaths at all. I just happily follow the little arrows on the floor, enjoying looking at all the nice displays! There's not much I miss as I go my merry little way round Ikea!
Oh, I'm easily pleased!!!!!!!0 -
Hello everyone, late one for me today....no particular reason, just late...
Frugglewump, I love your new house. That fireplace in the bedroom looks especially interesting - I bet if you take some paint remover and a toothbrush to it you'll reveal an absolutely gorgeous cast iron original gem. You've defintely got lots of scope in the garden for a veg patch, hens, two or even three washing lines, and still have space for some doggies. Oh I wish I had a big garden....
I am rather wrecked tonight, awoke at around 4.00 am, it did cross my mind to start today's thread, but I it was a bit too chilly so I read for a while instead. I nodded off again during Sarah Kennedy - some time around 7.00 am, and came too at 8.30 am, which is the very latest time I need to be in the car to stand half a chance of getting to work on time. I was late of course - third time this week:o
Bargain Rzl, well done on your bonus. I'm v.impressed with your savings too, you make it sound so easy! It's a reminder to me to get my !!!!!! in gear and get my budget, credit cards and so on sorted out, especially since I will with some luck be moving back to England over the next year or two. Ha! I bought this house in June 2004 and have only just received my solicitor's bill!! During the interim I phoned her up and was told "she's on maternity leave". I nearly hit the floor - she's had her baby, and now is getting caught up with her outstanding cases...but you'd think someone would have told me. Sorry, am waffling as I am sooooo tired. I nodded off in a sitting upright position today at work. Like the Japanese I have mastered the art of "power napping" ie sitting there looking like I am looking at my computer but actually have my eyes closed. Sorrry...more waffle still tired!
Eats today were a bit confused:
Breakfast was a kit-kat and a coffee at work as I didn't have time to eat before leaving the house, and I was practically passing out with tiredness.
Lunch - came home and had a lovely feed of rice, home made tomato sauce out of Delia's book, and some sardines, followed by a yoghurt. Also had about a pint of Diet Pepsi - desperately needed the caffeine to get through the avro.
Dinner - was breakfast...porridge, raisins, sunflower seeds, skimmed, cuppa tea. Yum.
Snacks - chocolate from a colleague - she got the urge today, and bought a great big bar. However her daughter is diabetic therefore no chocolate ever passes the threshold of her home. So she gave the "spare" to me. Nice! Should have said no as the spare chocolate just gets converted to spare tyres around my middle.
Smokey112 - I love your new avatar, Becky is gorgeous...I'm a definite cat lover too. My avatar is Henry - the most special cat I have ever known, and who came to me as a starving stray. He broke my heart in Sept as he contracted kidney disease and died. It was awful, I was so upset. All three of my beautiful cats died last year, Henry from kidney disease, Tabitha in December from old age/kidney disease but I had her put to sleep before she got too bad (that was so hard), then Baba who died in March on the road. Now I've got Ted who's a big big ginger and white tiger, and Dylan (or Dyddles) who is white with a few black blobs and who is now about four months old and still very cheeky (and he's had The Op!). I can't imagine living without cats, they are so lovely.
MATH - that is fantastic news about Mrs MATH. I really, really hope this works out for her.
Tiddles...£14 to clean a duvet is totally and utterly outrageous! TBH I think they are taking the p!ss - go in with a lovely feather one and it's £14, and it's the same price for a cheapo synthetic one. They quite obviously don't get cleaned in the same way, so they are cashing in by charging the bigger price for all, don't you think? The £4 in a laundrette still gives the laundrette a profit, so they are making at least a tenner extra for nowt!
Elona...put the soup saucepan on hubbie's head then get two wooden spoons and play the drums on him!! He'll definitely remember not to empty the soup saucepan again after that.
Good night everyone, I'm going to bed as I am frazzled. I hope somebody reads this cos it took ages to type, but as I am so tired I can't be bothered to get up. Right that's it, I'm off to blow some ZZZZZZs...
Nighty night.
