Congrats Mrs Math - everything crossed for the next round.

All is peaceful in the house of Pooky, it won't last. Rather than getting dinner ready or tidying up, I'm sitting here with a coffee whilst 2 little angels sleep........

Got some banking to sort, so paid to clicks to do - and so on and such like.

Smokey - :rotfl: - why are men so completely dappy when it comes to bed making (squeeks and math excluded of course) Mine would happily sleep on a bare mattress, bare pillows and with a duvet cover thrown over him than make the require effort.

CQ - I'm just wondering if food colouring would have the same effect on my cats - both are/have white fur - I could do with them being black or navy so their hairs don't show so much on clothes......you could have started something there :rotfl:
"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.
  • Pooky - it got worse - when I asked him this morning -why hadnt he put a sheet on the bed he said "I dont know where they are kept !!" - ddooohhh - the clean one was over the banister - and the others are kept in the wardrobe about 2 foot away from his hand

Just changed me avatar (after trying to work it out how to make it smaller) - this is my baby Becky who is 6years old - will put the others on later - will rotate them so they dont feel left out

Afternoon all, Phew when you are late getting here there's an awful lot to read and catch up on! Am in work today so very little done at home. Will be home around 3pm, will have a quick tidy and then have to take DS swimming.
Zed - my DD (3yo) sounds like yours, she is in "little madam" mood today - I pity anyone who got in her path in nursery today.
Math - good news about the interview - fingers crossed

B - was toast and banana
    L - beans and toast
    D - to be decided.....

Hugs to all who need them, will catch up later when have more time (am sneakily on internet in work  )

    yawn...
have had a practical this morning, so was standing around in the freezing cold wind for 2 and a half hours from 9am. So, can now do levelling and long profiles and stuff in my sleep, done so many transects today! Got back to the flat and went straight back to bed with a brew to warm up.

    So..this afternoon...work.
Dissertation stuff is looming..by easter I need have decided diss title, have written 2 essays on the subject, done a 15 min oral presentation, booked equipment use over summer for the fieldwork, booked lab time for over summer to analyse the samples i collect, etc etc..ARGH! And i dont even really know what I want to do! "something with rivers" is as far as I have got
So, yes, today Im going to start doing a trawl of literature on all things river-like, get some more ideas of what to do for diss.

Shower also needs a damn good clean, went in there with my glasses on today, and got such a shock! Shouldnt take too long, its ust that I had no idea it was that bad!
Food...dont know: summat on toast for lunch, and I have blackmailed a flatmate into cooking my tea today :D ..yay for embarassing pics of him naked and drunk! :rotfl:

Hope everyone starts feeling better...seems to be a lot of illness around atm
    Good luck to Mrs Math
    Hugs to all

  • Woohoo!! Way to go, Mrs Math!! :j Fingers crossed for the next bit!

Oh dear, Curry Queen, well there just aren't enough auburn speckled cats in the world, so you've evened up the balance. :rotfl: Reds and auburns are very "in", right now - after the release of the "Frosty Browns" collection and thanks to Davina McCall popularising the look - so don't feel old, feel "in the moment". :D

Elona, you're not the only one - because both DH and I cook, we now have an unwritten rule that before we use the last or only of something, we check whether the other one "has any plans" for whatever it is! ;) If there's a clash of interest, we then negotiate to see who should use it. :D

Smokey - Becky is gorgeous! :D Love the gleaming eyes!

I've had quite a productive morning. Made the butternut squash soup and, in my opinion, its by far the best soup I've had in a long time. I shall have to write the recipe down, so that I remember what I did! Just had a bowl of it with a slice of this morning's Mummy Bread for lunch. DH reckons its way better than the best New Covent Garden soups, so it can't be all bad! Plus, of course, we know exactly what went into it - low fat, no sweeteners, preservatives, additives or colours. Just good honest ingredients.

I'm about to round it all off with some of a smoothie DH made - with some frozen berries (£2 for a bag from Iceland, with no sweeteners or additives) - and a leftover half of Papaya, a Banana and some apple juice to wet it all down a bit. Reckon that's our ration of fruits and veggies done, all in one hit! :rotfl: Gorgeous.

DH takes over in the kitchen this afternoon - he's got a vat of chilli to make for tonight's dinner, the other half will be frozen for later on this week.

WM is on its second load and nothing seems to have disintegrated for the addition of soda crystals. There's a relief! :rotfl: I'm hoping I'll now be able to get the paw prints out of our pale coloured duvet covers. Why Jonty decides to go wipe his paws on it, I'll never know. DH reckons Jonty has a "clean duvet gland" which becomes uncomfortable when there's a clean duvet about, so can only be relieved by going and leaving his mark on it. I think he may be onto something there. ;)
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

Well, that's DH packed off to work for the day & me left in peace! Another working from home day today, so I shall spend the rest of the day doing a mixture of paid & unpaid (house) work.
There's a mountain of ironing to get through, our bathroom is manky & I need to start getting organised for our ski trip cos it's less than 2 weeks away.
Am determined not to spend any money today; it was OH's 40th birthday yesterday & we went to Nutters restaurant last night & spent £100  It was budgetted for out of this month's "spare" council tax money (don't pay it in Feb & March) but still! Plus am still waiting for my expenses to be paid in (claim form found yesterday gathering dust on the Finance Director's desk) so feeling "poor" today. On the upside this morning I found out how much my bonus for last year is going to be, so it's not all bad!

Tea will be whatever I can cobble together - was going to be HM pizza, but have now read the loaded potato skins thread.....

Good luck to Mrs MATH for the next interview. New jobs are so exciting!

It's grey and ugh today here but I'm working late so OH can get wet on the playground instead for a change!!!!
Have washed all the floors today using vinegar and washing up liquid with the small person following behind me voicing his complaints about the vinegar smell!!
Good news here- OH has rung to say he's had another 2 orders for his furniture so I am really proud of him.
Looks like I shall really have to tackle the ironing tonight- shall soften the blow by watching the Olympics at the same time me thinks.
Tea is a very un OS affair- breaded fish & oven chips and might even manage to open a pack of frozen peas. We tried the marinated turkey in brown sauce last night....yum, yum. Think I shall have a go at HM chicken nuggets next week.

  • Afternoon all :)

PP - hope you feel better soon, i don't feel too good today either, i think its the cold weather, makes all my joints stiff and sore (((hugs))) to you.

    Good luck Mrs Math! :)

Having a quiet day in today, trying to catch up on things in the house like cleaning the bathroom and hoovering the bedrooms etc as when i'm ill i only do the minimum of housework like washing up and making sure DD has clean clothes etc so i've a bit to catch up on after 2 weeks!

B - spotty porridge for DD (porridge with raisins in!), porridge and honey for me, orange juice and tea.

D - Toasted sandwiches with beans and cheese inside, yoghurt

T - Homemade chicken curry and rice for DD followed by banana and custard. I'm going out again tonight with DBoyf so will probably be eating out again.

Aww he bought me some lovely Coco Chanel perfume back from the airport :) bless him!

    Have a good day everyone
