    Morning all :)

P-P Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad today, I hope you improve as the day goes on.

Zed & Moggins lol munch is exactly the same they are so funny aren't they, she has just started saying 'of course' after everything...would you like an apple "of course" *whilst pulling a rather amusing face lol* :p

This is my third attempt with the computer this morning, server kept crashing again!! :(

DW is on, BM was set on a timer last night so a lovely fresh loaf of wholemeal bread was awaiting me when munch woke me up at 6am this morning. Kitchen worktops cleaned and tidied, and bath is half run and I've put out the bin bag and recyling for the bin men. Thanks for tips from yesterday, bread is perfic this morning.

Managed to decide what to have for tea last night and had chicken and bacon salad with green beans and balsamic dressing. Got home from Church went to see DH ;) who had gone to bed and then got back up put on BM and stayed up till 1am this morning sorting out some more ebay parcels to post today if the cheques arrive.

Things to do today: Go into town and drop off something for mum then depending on how horrific the weather is may pop to Clarks and get munch some new shoes (fingers crossed its not to busy due to the weather). Post ebay parcels, check through budget and do banking and moving money about as DH was paid this week. Need to buy new car tyres but might do that tomorrow instead as I can't face much bartering (sp?) today. Need to sort out two loads of damp washing  and maybe just maybe tidy up a bit.

Have a great day everyone. :j

  • Morning folks, sorry so many seem to be feeling ill this morning :grouphug:

It's a grey, dreary and damp day here in the south-eastern corner of Central London, where I work. And just that bit to windy to get any productive use out of an umbrella

Leftovers and some fresh baby-leaf spinach for dinner last night, takeaway coffee and bacon roll for brekkie this morning (the cafe near my office does bacon or sausage roll with a large coffee or tea for £1.80 which I think is an excellent deal for a hot breakfast with no washing up - but I do wish they'd offer a wholemeal roll alternative cos the unrefined carbs would keep me feeling full for longer!) Lunch will be cheese & tomato ravioli with pesto, pre-cooked at the weekend.

Don't have to plan dinner this evening because my dad is taking me out :j :j Last time he bought me dinner I didn't eat any of it, which must have seemed most ungrateful! He was coming to a concert I was singing in and we met for dinner, and having ordered my food I suddenly got an attack of stage fright and realised I couldn't eat a thing  :o This time he's taking me out because he wants me to be named as a director & compny secretary of his limited company (which is basically just him and his IT skills!) and although he's assured me that it's basically a nominal function only, I've told him I'm not signing anything until I've seen the small print and know what I'd be responsible for if he got run over by a bus or went bankrupt!

PoshPaws - re Butternut Squash - have you seen the current issue of Asda's instore magazine? There's a whole feature with loads of BS recipes - I think one of them was a soup. Haven't tried any of them yet but they all look absolutely gorgeous! Of course I probably wouldn't get my BS from Asda though - Lidl is usually cheaper I think :D

Am going to start eating a lot more fresh stuff over the next few weeks - it inspired me last night when watching You Are What You Eat, cos that woman lost 2st 7lbs in 8 weeks! Now, I don't have that much to lose but I could do with losing at least a stone, probably a stone and a half, and it occurred to me that 6 weeks isn't too far off 8 so it might be useful to combine a healthy eating regime with giving up some of my vices for Lent. Am sick of wobbly chafing thighs and spare tyre.

Anyway, back later, have a lovely day everybody xxx

OMG it is freezing out there! I have just done the school run and now I'm so cold I'm moving around like an old woman :( I've retreated to the computer instead of venturing into my freezing cold kitchen.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Yes its definately freezing this morning I cant seem to get warm at all, got to go out in a bit again to pick up my car as its having an mot and Im not looking forward to it at all.

Had slow start today as dropper car off. DW emptied & kitchen tidied and thats about it.

In a minute gonna put 1st of 2 loads in washing machine, quickly clean sinks and toilets then sweep downstairs. Then at least 1 hour in office, then ironing in front of the telly. Lunch is left over lamb stew and dinner is bangers and mash followed by fruit salad. Think will just have 1 more coffee before I start - see if I can warm myself up!
  • Brrrr! cold here too, fingers being frozen by draught from window as I type. I have already lit the sitting room fire to try to warm the place up a bit, determined not to use the heating as it is oil fired.

Nice to be back here after mum's visit, I have missed MSE :D

Sorry to here you have had a painful time PP, I have a friend with this condition too, not as severe for her from what she says but gets very miserable with it as there is no getting away from it. I do hope that one day soon a cure can be found and sufferers can get back to normal lives.

The pink curtains incident made me laugh Zed, it is so funny how their minds work! Good luck with the making of them, I am sure she will love them.

Mrs MATH is through to the next round of interviews with the well known chemist based in Nottingham (YAY). Thnaks to all the Ol'Stylers who spare a thought for us. Don't know the dates for interview yet.

Hi Yall, dark, cold and damp today in the emids. I'm having one of those mornings where I've started a dozen jobs and not actually finished any of them. The beds are made tho so I'm not completely useless. LOL

    Started but not finished:

Ironing (done but non-irons not taken off the airer yet)
    DW (done but not emptied)
Lounge (tidied but sofas/floors not vacced)
    Sitting room (same as lounge)

    Not even started:

    Online accounts
List of phone calls about church stuff
Lunch for me and tomorrow for kidz
    Bathroom de-fug
I need to clean the keys on the *piano cos I notice someone has been plonking while eating a jammy dodger. LOL

*actually my piano is at my mum's cos I only have room for an organ here but I don't like typing organ cos it makes every sentence sound rude. LOL from now on I shall refer to it as a piano. PMSL

    Finished:
    Bedrooms

I'd better get on now I've posted my news. Hugs to everyone who has had a poor night sleep.

    B Fruit and Nut
    L Ham Roll

  • Morning everyone :hello:

What a miserable, grey and damp day it is out there today :( ... WM is on it's second load but no hope of getting anything dry outside today! I'm loathe to put the heating on just to dry it though as we've managed with no heating on for the last few days, which has slashed my gas usage by half this week already, so was hoping for a dry, windy day today

Yesterday I dyed my hair for the first time in absolute ages, but rather than my usual wacky reds/purples/blue-blacks I've gone for a sensible deep auburn colour (to cover a few grey bits :shhh: ) but I feel old now!!! _pale_ ... and I also managed to dye the cat too! :rotfl: ... silly thing was buzzing round my ankles while I was doing it and must have got splashed

Anyway, she had to have a bath too to wash off the dye, which she was NOT impressed about, and is now sporting a speckled auburn look on her lovely long white coat :rotfl:

Not sure what today's plans are yet, although I had hoped to get into the garden at some point as I'm expecting delivery of my garden shredder today so wanted to make a start on uprooting some horrible hedging plants all down one side of the garden. I know it's not very OS buying something like that, but the alternatives of hiring one, or hiring a skip to remove the garden waste, were going to cost a lot more so it will more than pay for itself in the long run, and I get to keep the mulch for my compost :j

I've been in touch with the HA about the horrible bodged plasterwork in the bedrooms and they're sending round a surveyor to have a look, so fingers crossed they will also repair or re-plaster the tops of the walls so I can get on and finish the decorating up there. I've got so much I should be getting on with but I'm being held up with everything trying to put right all the dodgy work that's been done here before and I can't afford to have someone come in and re-skim all the walls. It's bad enough that I've got to put up with unsightly pipework and electric cable covers where they've done cheap bodge jobs when installing the CH and presumably re-wiring the house  ... guess I should just be grateful I've got a roof over my head though :o

That's my whinge over for the day, but it is all starting to get me down a bit :o

Think I might spend the afternoon doing some baking as I did most of my cleaning yesterday so not much else to do really. Still waiting for my shed to be put up (was meant to be last week  ... men!!! ) so can't get on with sorting out my bedroom and moving boxes out either! Or on the otherhand, I might just go back to bed and read my book :D

Hope everyone else is having a good day and *hugs* to those feeling poorly or a bit under the weather :A
