    Hello to the newbies :T

    Happy birthday Jenny _party_

Suzie, hope your boss appreciates what you do, and uses his common sense and gives you a pay rise!!!!

Well, im well chuffed after my shopping trip. First, i found my missing pedometer in my car, so thats good, then at Tescos, found some reduced filo pastry, ive never used it before, so looking forward to seeing what i can make using it!!!! I also found some valentine picture frames, reduced to 51p, so picked up 2 , but have only been charged for 1!!! I know its not much, but it made me happy!!!!
Not only that, but went to Woolworths, to buy a white board for my kitchen, so that i can write my shopping list on it, and thought i would also get a new cork board while i was there. The cork board was £2.99, the white board £5.99, but the girl rang them both through as if they were cork boards so saved something there as well!!!! Im not normally lucky like that!!!!!!
Ive fed all the children, going to put the little one to bed and then have a look in my cupboards to see what i fancy for my lunch, so take care everyone, have a good rest of your day!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Morning all, got up at 6.30 to get some washing done before I had to get DD ready for school, as soon as she was in school I had to run back and get the car to drive 9 miles to pick Mum up and 9 miles back to get her to her hospital appointment for 10.30. Then had to drive 9 miles back again stopping on the way to pick up a replacement for the fish that died yesterday. Finally drove back home thinking I could actually get out in the garden and move my raspberry canes and the heavens opened :( It seems that whenever there is good weather I am using it to chauffeur someone around :(

    Hiya again :hello:

    Happy birthday Jenny_party_

Hugs to suzy too:grouphug: (I wish they'd get a better hug smilie :D)

Well, my day has changed. Going to mum's tomorrow as I'll have to ferry her to Dr's. Mr TM has been roped in so he can clear her garden of leaves - when I phoned this morning she was thinking about getting out there to do them herself

So, I sent Mr TM and boys off to the park and to feed the ducks and I nipped into town - had something to take back and library books needed returning. Managed to find some 'how to crochet' books in the library, so have snaffled those and got a Star wars 1-3 out on dvd (Library was doing a 3 for 2) DS1 has been asking to see them for ages. Went to the market and bought a crochet hook and some cheap wool and am going to have a practice later. I'm really looking forward to it - is that sad? :D

Just need to put WM and BM on and vac living room then I shall sit with my wool for an hour or too, before I make the corned beef hash.

    Later folks

    Just got in from Hospital.
DS#1 admitted overnight with suss rash and headache (temp 103!!), but now 'they' think it's a viral rash and 'nothing to worry about'. I coulda told them that at 10:30pm last night when we were waiting for a bolshy porter to move us from A&E to the kids ward.
Still, only managed 3 hours sleep last night after getting back from ward, but sprung DS#1 from Hospital (£2 to park OUCH) and DS#1 installed on sofa infront of Warner Bros cartoons.
So far things are going great!
Back to work tomorrow - Thanks grandma!

    Hi all

My class are in a magic show, and I've forgotten some important bits and pieces that I could be getting on with at home, so I thought that I'd catch up here.

    Jenny - Happy Birthday!

OH is staying at a friend's house tonight. One of his oldest friends is over here for a week from South Africa, cos his mum has just had tumours removed from her stomach. Anyway, it's a chance for that group of friends to catch up. As I work 1.5hrs away from where these friends live, and OH works 5mins away it's just easier if he goes on his own.

That means that I'm home alone tonight and I'm trying to decide what I can have for supper tonight that's filling and healthy. Normally I'd go for fish and chips, but I really need to resist them! All the other stuff in the freezer is split into portions for two. Hmmm. I do have some small tins of soup, but I had a small lunch (sarnies and a yoghurt) so I want something more substantial.

Anyway, I'll continue pondering my stomach's fate!

  • afternoon everyone.

i've had a not so exciting morning looking through a years worth of old bank statements to see where the money goes. I have found it so inconclusive apart from the obscene amount my DH takes out of the cash machine most months. i suppose last year was an exceptional spending year with the wedding costing an absolute fortune, and money coming in and out at a stupid rate. Otherwise, we have got into the habit of sticking things on the CC, and i can not be bothered to go back through that lot as well. i think i need to do a spending diary but DH will not remember what he has spent. I'm going to have to do some subtle nagging.

welcome to new people. there are some delicious sounding meals being planned - i quite fancy some gammon or something along those lines, and i must keep hinting that i want a slow cooker for my birthday ;)

i've just been pottering otherwise. clothes in wm but i haven't turned it on yet. i also need to hoover downstairs so i suppose i should get on with it. chicken with a pasta sauce is planned for tea.

hope you all have an enjoyable afternoon - the sun is bright here, although it is still freezing.

    Michelle, x

TM - crochet!! Yayyy!!! Not sad at all - I'm on my 3rd blanket - everyone seems to want one! Ok they're bog standard squares crocheted together but it's nice to achieve something.

I found the books from the library a bit confusing - if you google for "learning to crochet" you'll find some decent helpful sites.....

I found it very difficult to get out of bed this morning as it was the first day back to school after the half term But I did make it in time in the end.

Entering 16 postal competitions today and 3 which has to be dropped into a local shop. I've bought my children battery operated toothbrushes each as they have been begging for them for ages.

Tonight I'm making pork curry and onion bagee (?sp) with the left over pork from yesterdays roast dinner and I've made a malt loaf for pudding.

  • JennyW - DH's Dad was a Submariner with the RN. It must be very difficult for you at times, with him being away on duty. Great when he gets back though! :D

Bargain Rzl - The only comment I have with regard to your ham hock and its flavourings, is to go easy on the cloves. I overdid them one time and although it was flavourful, having your tongue go slightly numb was a bit of a drawback! :rotfl: Otherwise, I say go for it - should be delish! :)

Way to go on the bargains, Catowen. Can you come shopping with me tomorrow? I could do with some of your kind of luck! :D

Moggins, I sympathise. I've been trying to get out in the garden for the last week or so. If its not the weather stopping me, its other people's plans. Grrr!! We'll get there eventually.

FannyAdams - Yikes, what a fright! So glad nothing came of it other than a sleepless night and the loss of £2. Hope he's feeling better soon. Seems like hospital parking fees are a popular source of achieving revenue, at the moment. My parents had to spend £3 to park at Kingston Hosp. a couple of days ago. Soon, its going to be cheaper to get clamped. ;)

Well, we had the quiche for lunch and it was just as good as it looked. So now we're getting carried away with Quiche plans. Still, its solved the problem of what to feed my parents with, when they come to visit in a couple of weeks' time. :T

Right, enough of this ... I must go to clean out the birdies (who seem to have had friends round, last night. I'm sure there's a couple of lager cans in the bottom of their cage .. probably pizza boxes, too ..) and get the WM on. Next stop the bedrooms for new bedclothes. Ooooh, the fun, can I cope? ;)
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:
