Seems like a lot of people missed that the OP did return to the thread on ce he had calmed down. Kudos to him for that.
M y local Aldi certainly has all "classes" of people. The staff are all very pleasent and friendly.
If you don't like the "speed checkout" then don't shop there-plenty of other alternatives -if you don't mind paying for a slower service. One thing that did make me smile in this thread was the comments about having to stand in a queue-but still been taken unawares when reaching the front of the queue-I guess some people really are oblivious to their surroundings.

M&S are the worst store for having understaffed checkouts and hurling the food through. Now they don't give out bags it's become much worse.

When I went into M&S the other day, just to buy some cheese, the till operator asked if I was interested in an M&S credit card. It's annoying when the banks try and flog me a credit card, at least Aldi don't do that.

I haven't come across any rude staff at Northampton Aldi. I haven't seen any signs there telling you to pack items on the shelf either. I tend to grab one of their cardboard boxes they have lying around and load stuff into it at the till. Because I tend to buy only a few things there I don't need a trolley. The mad rush of trying to get everything into it is a bit annoying but I accept that's the way things are at Aldi - to keep costs down they don't have baskets etc. They're never going to change because this is the business model they've become successful with - not just in this country but all over Europe.
