Aussie most of that was spent on security TBH.AussieLass wrote: »Morning everyone,
Didn't see the inauguaration yesterday. What a ridiculous amount of money to spend on it though. :rolleyes:What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Elona - I can't find the Daz round here either, don't know anyone who has found it yet! Either supplies were very limited or they didn't send it to all stores! Don't know if you use quorn pieces at all, but they're £1 a pack in Mr M's at the mo. Happy birthday to your DH, lol at you scaring him by copying Hester!
Taplady - you must be missing Lesley dreadfully, it's so hard when someone is such a big part of your life, it's always the little things that seem to remind me of people and sort of send a wave of sadness over me, big hugs to you xx
Kathy - take care of your back! Don't spend too long bending over the ironing board.
Sybil - ooh, that's a lot of medicine to take every day, yuck! Hope that whatever is wrong gets better soon hun, and good luck with the estate agent xx When dd3 was little she went from napping every day to a nap every other day, hard work on the ones she didn't sleep, but somehow it stopped me getting irritated that she wasn't sleeping when she needed it as I didn't expect it IYKWIM?! Tips on housecleaning, one surface at a time! Do the mantelpiece before you make your next cup of tea, then wipe down some bits in the kitchen whilst you're at the sink washing your cup, little bits and routines are the only things that work for me, my kitchen cupboards are finally mark free as I now wipe them whilst waiting for my porridge to ping in the mornings (thanks again Dobie for the idea!), it's getting the routine that's hard, and even harder with a tiny around!
Purple - Asda bread flour is 48p and Mr T's have put their's back down to 48p now!
All caught up for today, just yesterday's thread to read! lol!
Lasagne is cooked and smells lovely, shame it's a meat one so I won't be tasting it! Caught up on some paperwork, how I hate doing it! I am trying to get better at it though, must remember to put some money in an envelope with ds's letter about photography - we have to pay a studio fee for his GCSE course, whatever happened to free education? This damned GCSE malarky is costing me a fortune, good job that his dad is always happy to contribute, paying for studio time is outrageous I think, and I have asked for an explanation of exactly why and for what we are paying, as we are also expected to pay for equipment, chemicals and paper - and probably heating and lighting as well! Moan, rant!
Hockeyduo - fab news about the mortgage approval, excellent news!
Edit:
Purple - B's beans were also on offer in Somerfield, £1 for 4 cans, don't know if it's still on, was last week when I went in there!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Morning all!
Just sitting here seething while waiting for the post to decide to arrive. I need to go out to get milk and wanted some papers about Obama to save but I have had a parcel posted to me on Saturday that has not yet arrived and also we are expecting tickets for the FA cup match V Kettering to arrive. We are getting very worried about this as the match is on Saturday and we were told we would get them so we booked about £45 travel for all our gang on the club coaches. My flatmate keeps ringing every 30 mins to ask if the postie has been yet. I keep telling him they turn up when they feel like it anytime up until 2pm or so. Which is a pain when you consider we used to get it at 7.30 am every day.  :mad:What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
By all means carry on! If anyone asks, you can tell them it's a custom stitch that you designed especially for this blanket.bargainbird wrote: »Dilemma - Not too serious tho
i started knitting a blanket, basket weave, but thought i'd check last night online to see if i'm doing it right....well i'm not. Do I
1) Unpick and start over and do i correctly
2) Carry on and hope i never bump into a knitter who can't recognise the stitch

Half Pint - (((((((hugs))))))) to you for your loss. I know how important pets are in the family.
PenPin - sorry to hear you're not feeling too good. Thinking of you and hoping you have a better day tomorrow.
Aussie - I was going to post the link to what I see whenever I click onto one of your links, but the photo thingy has shut down for maintenance! I will keep checking and post it. I am NOT going mad, honest; there is a big big spider being chased by a black cat! (You're not a witch, are you?!)
Well, off for some lunch.

If we're watching something 'live' rather than recorded I jump up and do 2 mins of something in the adverts, tidy the counter, load dishwasher fold some washing etc, DH shouts me back."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Afternoon all
Hugs to all those in need today - seems to be a few down/poorlies.
Moggins - Lovely to see you back, hope your situation improves soon.
Sybil - I always found a really good way of incorporating messy play was to do it in the bath/shower....tape some paper to the tiles/shower screen and strip little one down to just a nappy....let them loose with the paints and know that the mess is contained......then running a sink full of warm water for them to play in whilst I tidied up the worst before filling the bath for another half hour of splashy fun. I used to sit them in the bath with lots of pots with lids/spoons etc and give them a pan of cold, cooked spaghetti - sometimes mixing a dash of food colour in....they love the slimey texture and if any of it goes in the mouth it's not an issue......(make sure you've got a rubber math mat down incase it gets slippy)....great for their co-ordination and you can make lots of slurpy, sucky, slippy sounds and try and get them to copy.
DD2 and I both have stinking colds, she's wrapped up on the sofa looking all pale and pathetic bless her.
Turkey and veg pie tonight with mash and veg....sponge cake and custard for pud (we've discovered the 7p instant custard from Mr T - and very nice it is too)
Trying to find the energy to do next months meal plan but think I may give up on that whilst I'm not feeling great or it will all be chocolate and lucozade.
Hope you all have a great afternoon"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
I lost my dog about an hour ago...she'd had enough.:( she was 15 and having problems. we made the tough decision to let her go and be happy, to chase bunnies in green fields with no pain anymore.
I know I'm new on here, but hubby gone to work and I had to come home with LO..it's horrible cause she's not here to greet me anymore.
I just need to let my feelings out and have a good ole cry. Im struggling to go in the kitchen cause that where her bed is and she was always under my feet looking for titbits in there....still I know it'll get better and I've done the right thing for her. She was such a good gentle dog...we'll miss her loads.
Anyway.....will break the computer if i'm not careful with all these tears...Thanks guys for listening.
xx
Many many gentle (((((((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))))))))) for you. It is indeed heartbreaking when we have to make that very difficult decision. We lost our big guy, Prince aka Ole Yeller, last July at the age of 14. It was time without a doubt, but that didn't make it any easier.
Tears are good when you're grieving. You've lost your furchild and it is heartbreaking. Know that many of us understand your pain and are here for you.
Although this can still make me cry, I can also find a smile in it. Rainbow BridgeTake the first step.

Half Pint I am sending lots and lots of tender (((((((((((hugs))))))))))). I also know the heartbreak of having to make that decision with a much loved pet. Let your tears come for as long as you need and don't bottle it up. Our furbabies are very very important to us.
Sybil (((hugs)) to you also from Auntie Mudgekin, look after yourself sweetie. I agree with purpleivy, one step at a time, I usually intersperse my small steps with cups of tea:j
PenPin you have had a miserable time of late. I hope you feel better soon ((( hugs)))
Moggins you have been in my thoughts since last night. Stay strong
Halight :grinheart You did make me giggle today. I hope the burocrats don't get you down too much
