    Morning everyone.

Sorry, I've only glanced at the posts today but hugs to those that need it :grouphug: . On the plus side for me today I've got loads done and it's not even 10am..house is clean, just to hoover.....down side is that I've got it done cause I been burying my head....I lost my dog about an hour ago...she'd had enough.:( she was 15 and having problems. we made the tough decision to let her go and be happy, to chase bunnies in green fields with no pain anymore.

I know I'm new on here, but hubby gone to work and I had to come home with LO..it's horrible cause she's not here to greet me anymore. :( I just need to let my feelings out and have a good ole cry. Im struggling to go in the kitchen cause that where her bed is and she was always under my feet looking for titbits in there....still I know it'll get better and I've done the right thing for her. She was such a good gentle dog...we'll miss her loads.

Anyway.....will break the computer if i'm not careful with all these tears...Thanks guys for listening.

    xx

:hello: Morning, cold and frosty here in the NW,but didnt know till I got up,as the dear dog didnt get me up in the night:j .There is a vent very close to where he sleeps that seems to amplify any noise outside- good for sending off any potential burglars, not so good when he hears the fox wandering about on the other side of the fence.Anyway as DH has time on his hands he is going to move it to the other side of the room and has got a different type .He also planed the door to the downstairs loo yesterday,so him being at home has compensations.
Made 2 loaves yesterday so dont need to do that.Going to make rice pud with some of the 4pts milk I got for 50p,more soup, and tea is some lamb done in the Remoska.
Have a good day folks, hugs to those in need.xx

    Halfpint -
Edited to say how sorry I am to hear about the loss of your dear dog, know how you feel.(((((((((Lots of hugs)))))))))

Awww that's so awful Halfpint to have to make that decision with your pets. I've had to do it twice now and it's never easy. They are such a big part of your family and you will miss her heaps. <hugs> Hope you get through it ok.

Had a frittata, salad & baked beans for tea. Odd combination I know. :D Ice-cream & fruit for dessert although there was only enough ice-cream for 2 so I missed out. :D DGS asleep so I'm off to have a bit of a surf & see what's on the box. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Halfpint I sympathise totally with you & send bigs hugs & warm thoughts to you. You cry, laugh & remember all the funny things your dog did over the years, then cry some more it really helps.

Halight You made me laugh this morning :D (((((((((big hugs)))))))) right back at ya!!

Late posting today as decided to go food shopping as soon as youngest ds had left for school. Did very well in Netto £44 for the week with just juice, greaseproof paper & leeks from Mr T's which dh is picking up on his travels. I'm cutting back for the next few weeks as dh doesn't have much work in - either of his own or security work - so I'll be hawking round the storecupboard challenge & Weezl's threads to get ideas. I've pre-warned everyone to eat whatever's made & not moan :T They're very good though and as long as there's a decent amount (especially for ds 14 ;) ) of food & some snacks (both homemade & bought) we manage.

Rest of yesterdays HM spicy lentil soup followed by fruit for lunch. Dinner this evening is fruity chicken curry. I'd love to acknowledge the op for the recipe but can't remember who it was or which thread it came from. Thanks though whoever you were, it's a fave now :A

Bathroom swished ditto kitchen. Washing still needs to be hung to dry & I need to have a quick sweep downstairs. After that I'll do some more cross stitch I've really got back into it recently & am hoping to finish the Subaru car I'm doing for ds to match his brothers Porsche :p

I wish everyone a peaceful, happy day & hope that we can all find some joy in the little things in life.

    Love to all xx

    Good morning all!

Big hugs to Halfpint, no magic answers but feel free to come on here and talk to all of us xx

Well os wise the bm is on, the kitchen is scrubbed, I've soak labels off more jars ready for preserves, lasagne is in moski (change to menu plan as I couldn't be bothered with meatballs, and lasagne is a leave it to do its own thing meal!), hoovered everywhere except the kids' rooms, hob soaked and scrubbed, stockpiles organised and found homes, well most of it has been found homes! Utility mopped much to the dogs annoyance! And info about dd1's options read and digested, well sort of .....

Well my most exciting thing so far today has been mopping the floors, Kathy it was even more exciting than the warm slippers lol! I bought a new mop yesterday a jml blue one that has a sort of rubberised foam head, it is amazing! Now I'm not a huge housework fan as I'm sure people have noticed, but this was recommended by a friend at work, so as it was reduced to £5 from a silly amount, and as I needed a new mop, I thought I'd try, and it's really good, wrings out well enough to dry the floor properly, my mate uses hers on her laminate floor cos it can be just damp! I don't think I can get much more old style than getting excited over mopping lol!

Grabbed some reductions last night, oyster mushrooms, rocket and watercress, all under 20p each. So will be making salmon and watercress tartlets for dd1, as she loves salmon, I have some salmon bits in the freezer, these are used instead of pastry, then the watercress is put in mixed with egg and milk, like a quiche. I shall have the mushrooms on toast for my lunch I think - because I'm worth it (yep all 20 pence worth!). I think these sort of things being reduced is a sign that people just aren't buying the more expensive stuff as much now.

Lunch - mushrooms on toast for me, kids had hm rolls with grated carrot and cheese in, yoghurt, apple, orange, twinks.

Dinner - lasagne for kids with salad, poss wedges if I remember to pop them in the oven later! I shall prob take some soup into work, oh joy, work!

Friend is popping round later, hmm, might have to rethink the mushrooms, bet they turn up at lunchtime! Before that I intend to have a surf on here and catch up with everyone's news, another cuppa and possibly a twink, paint my toenails and put a facepack on - need somethng calming after my mopping excitement!

Hugs to all in need and have a lovely day xx

Edit: Sunnyday - to keep my ds topped up with food I made some soup last week, carrots are really cheap at the mo, so I threw loads of chopped carrots, couple of potatoes, couple of onions, herbs, garlic, couple of stock cubes into the sc, when it was done I blitzed it, then put the bowl into the fridge for him to help himself. This week there's no room in the fridge, so I've frozen loads of individual portions in marg tubs, and he can grab these as and when he wants. I just have to make sure there's plenty of hm bread to go with it! It seems to be working though, and it means that I don't go to the fridge to find all the cheese has vanished!

Can't stay because my hairdresser will be here any minute.
Halfpint, I am so sorry for your loss, I dread the day my lovely lurcher has to go. Like Aussie says it's so awful to make the decision, I've done it twice and each time I've said that I couldn't go through it again. It is the last act of love you can give to your pet, so I will do it again.
Just cry as much as you like, love to you, I'll be thinking of you.
  • Oh HalfPint it's so sad when you have to let pets to. Our dog went a year ago and I still look for her when i go round to my folks out of habit. Pets are great but it's always hard when you have to let them go. HUGS to you x
