Morning all,
My dd had a sleepover last night, and they are still fast asleep all over the lounge floor  , they have an inset day today, and so are off into town.
Dinner tonight will be chicken chausser which is all ready to go in the sc just before I leave for work. Will have a quick tidy round before I go, and put the rubbish out.
Aussie, your dgs is a very handsome chap, wonder where he gets his looks from ?
N9eav, congrats on your 3000 posts :T .
Moggins, hope you are ok xx
Pippa, hugs to you all.
Well better get on not dressed yet
Have good days all xx0 -
Good Morning Chums ,up with the lark today as I'm taking my DD to her interview for a new job in Gillingham ,fingers crossed for her .
Checked my bank account this morning and:j £25.00. cold weather payment has gone in over night. So that will help with the heating bills next month:eek: .beef casserole with garlicy mash was lovely last night.
I had some eating apples that were past their best, so I peeled and sliced and stewed for 10 minutes in lemon juice and caster sugar drained into a bowl and covered with thick custard. That takes care of pudding for a couple of days. I have pork ribs tonight for dinner with some salad and tiny new potato's, plus of course my apples and custard.
I keep dosing myself up with cough mixture as I have got a tickly cough thats driving me nuts.I may try my late ma-in-laws cure of boiled lemonade as hot as I can drink it.It seemed to work for her.
Right off to make my porridge for breakfast.<<hugs>> to those who need one .
Soon be spring the nights are slowly getting brighter thank goodness
have a good day everyone
JackieO
p.s.Wasn't the inauguration brilliant I hope things work out for him he seems to be a sincere man, and his wife's look of pride as her husband took the oath she was bursting with it bless her.0 -
Hi all - well, I'm taking the advice of my virtual friends on here and decided the kitchen floor CAN wait!
N9eav - congrats on 3000 posts!
Halight - I'm glad your money came through; now, fingers crossed that you find the perfect job!
Aussie - lovely pictures of DGS! At the risk of puzzling you again, on the rest of the photos that come up with yours, I can still see CATS and SPIDERS! And one of the spiders is too big and revolting to be a British one!
Thriftlady - (((hugs))) to your DD. My DGD was sick at the weekend, so I think some sort of tummy bug is doing the rounds.
Well, DH had gone - took him three attempts to leave because he had a lot to remember and his brain cell hadn't fully woken up.
Upstairs cleaned and tidied, WM on with towels in it, dinner (leftover stew) out of the freezer, office work put ready to do, breakfast cleared up, tired aching body showered, hair dried, list of things to do written out and, most important of all, cup on coffee being slurped to give me some more energy. The ironing fairy didn't materialise in the night so I might do some while watching TV before I collect the DGKs up from school.
It's a bit cool here today but the sun is coming out and the sky is a nice colour, so fingers crossed we all have a good day. I think I'll be able to hang the washing out; make a change from having to hang it on the airers.
Anyway, I'd better go and get a few more things done.
KathyXX
Edited to wish Jackie0's DD good luck and to agree that the inauguration was brilliant. I have been unsure about him, but I think he's going to be good for America and, hopefully, for the rest of us!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Morning!
Mum and Dad are coming to stay for a couple of days!:T :T :T
After I had sat with my lamp yesterday morning feeling miz, I tried to think of what would cheer me up. So I rang them and they've agreed to come over for a couple of days. I'm hoping Dad will drive me into Manchester with ds for his audition tomorrow, I was really worrying about that, not the drive per se, but any hassles of not being able to park close enough with three large instruments to carry, roads being closed and not being able to get where I want to be.
So now I have lots to do before mid afternoon:- go and collect repaired instrument ££ ouch!
- collect wholemeal flour so I can make the bread they like (we favour malted with seeds!)
- pay the house insurance
- Get the leg of lamb out of the freezer, this will be a treat for my dad, who loves this. Locally produced and a winner. Then I won't have to think of what to have tomorrow either. Rice pud in at the same time. Just need to sort veg, so Boulangere potatoes, more veg from the bottom of the fridge. Great stuff.
- Iron white shirts I didn't do yesterday as the ironing board still needs cleaning. Can do that later when.......
- Got Grim Reaper done except for the final press and a fastener. Will do that then scrub ironing board. DH has made a huge wooden scythe!
- General tidy up downstairs
- dust and vac spare room as it hasn't been used in a while.
- Get marmalade oranges cooked for the freezer
Hope you have a good day all, Moggins, did you talk to your friend?"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Nope, I haven't spoken to her yet on the grounds that the last time I went over the first thing she said was "I'm not one to say I told you so, but I told you so and then phoned me the next day and spent an hour telling me what a muppet I was. All of which I know!!
I will have to see her today at some point as I've promised her the loan of my sewing machine
Unfortunately I am one of those people who doesn't quit easily and wants to see the best in people. I know deep down at heart that an alcoholic won't quit until they want to, until they hit rock bottom etc etc. It's just that when he is sober he is amazing, funny, helpful, lovely to be with. But it's like pulling an unlabeled dish out of the freezer for teatime, you never know what you're going to get later that day!0 -
Morning All
I will be stuck on the lap top all day today as I have a project to finish for work. My fingers are sore. I burnt them cooking eggs for OH breakfast this morning.
DW and WM on so I can hang OH shirts on the airer when I have a tea break. I need to swipe the kitchen as well so will fit that in during my lunch break. Tonight I need to defrost some soup and make a loaf in the BM. The furballs will also need a good long walk.
B-Toasted tea cake and a banana(i think)
L-Egg on toast as OH has taken the last bt of HM soup
D- OH said he would make it so I am going to hold him to it. Haven't a clue what he will come up with.
Off to eat my brekkie. Have a good day!

Morning all!
didn't get round to reading or posting yesterday - bit of a hectic day.
(((moggins)))
Aussie - what a handsome little chap he is!
Halight - good luck at the job centre, they havent been much help to my DS1, the only thing they have offered him since November is some cold calling selling windows:mad: he is only 18(19 next week) and dont think its suitable for someone so young to do that.
work later for me but only a 6 hour shift as I've booked the evening off.It has been particularly stressful this last week with a particular service user and has given me a migraine the other day when I did a sleep in. plus I am also missing Lesley so much as we used to work together as well as spend a lot of time together outside of work. Been feeling a bit low since new year but am not really the type to let it show. Hopefully things will improve.
OS today -
washing hung on airers

DH 's birthday today so made him a bacon butty with homemade bread roll for breakfast and making salmon with potatoes and asparagus for tea tonight.
Thought about taking a leaf out of Hester's book but don't want to scare him!!!!
Trying not to go back to bed as feel really tired so sitting here like a large pink Womble in a fluffy dressing gown and fuzzy Animal slippers.
Moggins
Please talk to your friend as it will do you good to get things off your chest.
I am worried by your mention of his temper, are you sure you are safe?
Sybil and thriftlady
Hugs!!!!!
Went to large Sainsbury yesterday to buy a new kettle and get someveggie mince to stock up the freezer - also thought I might be able to find the half price Daz.
Had to pay £15 for a kettle as they were out of stock on the basic ones, no half price Daz and the veggie mince had gone up to £2 a bag!!! Looked at the final bill and what was actually in the trolley and was stunned!!!!!
From now on am making sure I keep making my own bread and rolls and will stock up on RM pastry to have in the freezer for quiches, homity pies etc.
DH has "tidied away" the food processor while we try to sell the house
Hugs to everyone and see you later."This site is addictive!"
