I just read your post and sorry about saying to talk to your friend.

I did not realise she actually does say "I told you so!" and then goes on and on about it to really rub your nose in it!!!!

How about speaking to someone at Al anon?

    Gentle hug.

  • morning all!! cold but bright here today. hope everyone is feeling fine and hugs to those that are not.
Halight - i know what you mean about training. my DH had to give up work last April due to ill health and we had to claim from social security. i saw a course i wanted to do but because the claim is in his name they will not help me at all even though it is a joint claim!! stupid as they admitted that if i had claimed then they would have helped me no problem. doesn't make sense! anyway i have ended up paying for my own course in instalments with a little help from my credit card (not very OS but i hope the course will allow me to make money in the end). i hope they can help you out.
My wii fit arrived yesterday so i had a good go on that. i am now 10st 13lb so i have lost 9lb since 27th december, only another 13lb to go woo hoo!
DH has taken a friend on his driving test so hopefully he will pass. This morning i have to go and get some passport photos done for my id card for my new job and then nip into their office to do the forms for the CRB check. I think they will also let me know when they want me to start my first few training hours. am really quite excited about it now but also a little nervous too. made a huge pot of carrot and lentil soup last night so that will be had for lunch and possibly dinner too. not sure what to do for the kids yet, will have to have a rummage in the freezer.
OS wise this morning i have hoovered all downstairs and mopped all the hard floors. will dust all upstairs later on when i get back.
    Have a good day everyone!!!
  • I am not saying what is wrong with me, but I am on 500mg of penicillin four times a day and if it gets worse I am supposed to go to A&E. :(

So putting away the grocery delivery is the extent of my OS today. Dear heart has already agreed a takeaway, and little bear is not going to miss out on cuddles.

Just for clarification, I am happy for any virtual grannies, cousins and aunties to adopt little bear - he is so adorable (not that I am biased) and he is good for cuddles (but not kisses, he doesn't 'do' kisses). I wouldn't wish evil cat on anyone. At some point I will work out how to post a pic so you can see little bear for yourselves.

And the nice lady from the Estate Agents is coming round this afternoon. Sigh.

But I thought I would bob in and say, hugs to all.

Moggins - you can moan on here as often and as long as you need. If my dear heart had trashed the living room in a tantrum I would be devastated. You can say what you like on here, and there are lots of lovely people who can help out with really practical advice.

Mudgekin - I don't care what the dentist says - well done on giving up smoking, which all dentists are supposed to hate anyway.

Hester - I can't wait to see what BOW comes up with next.
Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!

    Morning all

Just about to head out to the doc's for a blood pressure check and wanted to drop in before i go. Will catch up with everyone's posts later, hope you all have a great Wednesday! It's deceptively sunny here in Staffs...the ice on the car took 4 kettles of warm water to dissolve this morning....and then i had to stop the car on the journey to school/college to drop kids off, as the ice started forming again on the windscreen. Still, when the sun is out it makes me feel brighter, maybe i have a touch of SAD's? My mood seems much more morose when the weather is gloomy!

I'm just finishing up for breakfast, the hobnobs i made the other day. When i get back from my appointment i want to make some more dropped scones because the kids loved them and said they were muh better than shop bought ones.

  • Morning everyone,

Really cold here but looks like the sun is about to come out.

Cleaned the flat from top to bottom in prep for the inspection today, eveerything will be grand i am sure. I ahve been renting flats for about 8 years and this is the only letting agent that has ever bothered to do inspections:rolleyes:

OS: Cereal and slice of toast for brekkie, HM soup for lunch with a banana, No idea for tea as maybe going to Cinema tonight. Mate is on Orange so we get 2for1:D

Had some good news yesterday, OH and I have had our Mortgage aplication approved YEEEESSSSSS!!!!:T :j  :T :j  :T :j
Super excited about it as finally I will be paying money i towards owning the property as oppose to paying someone elses mortgage.
A bit apprehensive about telling my folks though, they love the flat I am in and i can see them being a little sad about me moving out of Edinburgh (they live about 40 miles away). Nevermind I am sure they will understand and support me. I remember telling them I was moving in with OH and thinking they would try and talk me out of it but were totally supportive. I think everyone is a little worried about telling their folks about big life changes even the really confident ones!:o

Hugs to all you lovely OS'ers, have good Wednesday!

well the past week has been horrid illness and accidents and school hassle but hopefully things will calm down now although my joint's are pretty bad at the moment and may take some time to calm down ,if anyone wants to know how far 4 pints of milk goes over a shop floor just ask because I know:eek: :rotfl: :rotfl:
today I have to rummage in the freezer for something for dinner I really need to make some bread as I have none in the freezer and just half a loaf left

This afternoon I have to take ds1 to the doctors to have the stitches removed from his foot
I also have some washing to do but ds1 will help me with this and there is only a small amount of ironing as ds2 is a dab hand with the iron I have found, so mount ironmore is no longer on the plus side ds2 is cheap;) it cost me £5 for him to do a massive pile of ironing:T
best go and put the bm on

Like Nessie, I too was woken with a bump at 2.15am, thought one of the kids had fallen out of bed, so got up to check everyone , they were all fast asleep.......unlike their mother who was wide awake by this time....we have 2 daft kittens who like to climb up the clothes horse & had knocked it over!
I phoned my husband who is overseas at the mo and had a blether with him and then read for an hour, so when my alarm went off at 6.35am ,rolled over for another 5 minutes and woke up at 7.40am aargh! Much running round and shouting at kids to get up, the older 2 leave at 8.10am.

But we got there, have walked with dog to school and back and was going to clean bathrooms before going to work but oops haven't as I'm on here instead! Have emptied DW and got startings of tea ready. Brownies starts back tonight so it's an earlier tea than usual. I better go to work now ,hadn't realised that was the time!
Hope everyone enjoys their day as best they can
  • Wannabe Sybil: I would take on Evil Cat!! The farm my folks have had many an 'Evil Cat' living on it over the year. These were strays though that kept the mice/rat population down. Funnily enough they were not very evil when you were feeding them titbits...

Can I be Little Bear's virtual big sis??:D

Morning all.................(((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) if you need one.

(((((((((((((((((((((((Moggins))))))))))))))))))) especially. I know what it is like my no 2 son is an alcoholic. Living with him was a nightmare.

Its a bright sunny morning, OH will be out for a walk and then I want to go down to Aldi and get more of their 49p oranges, they are very good value for money. I have not been buying oranges because they are so expensive.

I have a dicky hip and it was letting me know the fact last night when I went to bed, had to get up and take some meds so I could get to sleep, its 'pulling' a bit this morning but hopefully will ease up when I have been for a walk. Think I did a bit too much yesterday.

Spag bol for supper, have taken the sauce out of the freezer to defrost, no garlic bread, will have to get a baton and make some....OH loves garlic bread with his spag bol.

We have now had 3 days without a dizzy.........an improvement, but we have been this way before, he has gone 7 days and then had one.

A bit of good news, I have been waiting for a cash back payment from my car insurance taken ut through Quidco, check my account last night and they have had the money so it should be in my bank account shortly. A bit more off my CC bill which I want to reduce as much as possible, hoping to do another 0% balance transfer in July......then it will be full steam ahead to get rid of it and apart from the car I will be debt free.

OH has just arrived in the sitting room, he must have fallen asleep again after I got up, on my second mug of coffee...will go for my shower and get dressed.

    See y'all later...........................
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
  • I've just spent a lovely hour with my other friend and neighbour, she wanted some advice and it was lovely to forget my troubles and help someone else out with theirs. I'm surprisingly less tired than I should be with only four hours sleep behind me so I may flag later but the WM is on, DW is on, laundry all folded and ready to go upstairs now. I'll tackle the living room again while I am waiting for the shopping to be delivered as I may miss the delivery if I go and do kitchen stuff.

Sybil I have evil cats too, they even fight every morning until I feed them, I'm beginning to wonder if this is an act to make sure I feed them first thing so that they will stop fighting!!

LOL at nessie and the clothes horse, the stray we adopted came in one day and knocked a whole bottle of vinegar over the floor, it took ages to clean up all the broken glass and vinegar and the house smelled like a chip shop for days :D
