    afternoon all:)
Anyway i'm having another NSD today, and just pottering sorting kitchen clutter out still.DD has requested cheesy potato n carrot mash for tea, she's been addicted to it since she's been preg:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thank you. I am slightly concerned that I don't need to make anything up! In fact, at times, I tone them down

Cheesy potato and carrot mash sounds lovely, and much better than my craving for crunch beef and ok sauce which I had to ration while I was expecting little bear. It was one of the few things I could eat  I couldn't even eat crackers some days

I hope your dear daughter is coming along well. It isn't long, now, is it? I am so looking forward to all the baby photos that I trust will be posted by all the mums and grans to be.

Well, little bear has had a substantial lunch (and some of mine, including some fruit cake which I am not sure is good for him  but I'll see what his nappy does). So now it is time to stop him spreading crumbs of playdough everywhere and off out into the sunshine. It is frustrating because I have to go to the Drs and the post office, and both places are not good for two year olds on reins so he won't get as much of a run as I would like. When we get back I will let him have a good play in the puddles in the street. Which I may regret!

  • Crikey what's goin on?!

Just has the Hm Sausage casserole for lunch, it was a little mushy so must remember to add less water next time. I'm a real novice with the SC.

Got a couple of more baragins at lunchtime though. Mr M had a loaf tin and a muffin tin in the reduced section; both half price. There was nothing wrong with them at all so was a little confused when I got to the checkout and they went through at half price. Anyway i needed them and now I have a full home baking set..really chuffed!lol No holding me back now, watch out Mr Kipling!

Aaargh! don't you hate it when there's a whole chain of jobs to be done, but the first of the chain is something you can't get done for whatever reason - getting your head round it, short of something etc....I have 2 chains to break...I can't wash my hair because the lasagne dish is in the sink, I want it out of the way and the sink cleaned, as my hair is in the form of wigs that need to be sorted out. I save them up and do them all at once, because the shampoo and conditioner are too expensive to do them one at a time. Then a couple of them need altering as well (the new ones) and some need a bit of a trim (old ones).

Then.... I can't iron the white shirts because the ironing board is grubby. I'm loath to clean that up because I have to finish the grim reaper costume, whose fabric made it grubby in the first place. The sewing machines are both filthy too.

So task No 1 is to get the Grim Reaper complete and task No 2 is to get the lasagne dish sorted and the sink clean. We actually had lasagne the night before last, but I couldn't soak the dish right away, it had the broken dish in that I knocked on the floor. I'm a bit fragile at the moment and couldn't deal with the upset at the time. Are you surprised that noone else did anything about it?

Task no.2 is complete, Hanging on the curtain rail. When the dog walkers along the canal see that sight they'll be looking for the teepee! Think I need a couple of liquorice alsorts before I start on the Grim Reaper!

Well, this'll make some people laugh:rotfl: my mum has just rung to say she's got herself a laptop. How long will it take her to get online and find 'that site about cooking that Sue likes' ? That'll serve me right won't it?:rotfl:

I think it'll be a while, she can't access anything at the moment and didn't know what I was on about when I said 'are you sure the caps lock key isn't on?'. She's bringing it over on Friday so I can help her with it- like I know:rolleyes: I'll be opening the wine early that night that's for sure:wall: :wall:

Anyway thanks for the supportive comments, you're spot on about my French class Ravylesley ;)

Oh dear, Thriftlady - that did make me laugh! She'll be surprised to find that there's a lot more goes on here than cooking! Good luck with the lesson on Friday!

    Good afternoon chums ,
everyone feeling bright-eyed and bushy-tailed I see;) Well my lovely DD called in this morning with a nice bunch of flowers for me,bless her .She really shouldn't because pennies are a bit tight in their household with five children to feed, but when I said 'What were these for ?'
She just said cos' "your my Mum and I felt like it"
She's a dear soul, and has a heart of pure gold . They have been arranged nicely, and put into my conservatory where its nice and cool and I can see from my sink as I do the washing up. They usually last about 3 weeks or more in there in the winter.
I portioned up my beef casserole this morning and that's what I have for dinner tonight ,the rest goes into the freezer.
I had some spuds that I peeled and cooked for mash, and instead of putting milk in to mash them I used up the rest of the garlic and herb roule. Topped two of the casserole portions, and froze the rest on a plate portioned up from my ice cream scoop. So I have 8 portions of garlicy mash in the freezer as well. Its great doing like that as when I don't feel like doing mash, it takes five minutes in the m'wave to defrost and cook for my dinner in the evening.
had a good night at college and I'm just going to sit down and watch the second part of Hunter on catch up t.v. before the Obama inauguration starts at 4.p.m.I think Hunter could be a good replacement to 'Frost' as a t.v. detective. i shall do some knitting whilst I'm watching t.v. so I won't have idle hands :rotfl: Hope VickyA's Mum's o.k.<<hugs to those in need >>
hope everyone has a relaxing afternoon.
    Cheers JackieO
