They first contacted exisiting customers and then accepted recommendations, which is where I saw them mentioned on this site. There is a separate thread just dealing with Primus. I can only repeat that I am well satisfied with my deal and have had no problems whatsoever apart from a small billing correction. It costs nothing to call them on their 0800 036 0094 and there is no oblifgation. They will email you with the details of the deal. I dealt with Grant Ross who was most helpful."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -

I don't know if anyone posts feedback on some of these providers regarding their service but I am in the throes of trying to move from Tiscali to Sky.
In a nutshell, I wish I hadn't bothered. Sky are the most cumbersome, lethargic operation I have ever come across. No broadband for 3 weeks and they still cannot get the router to me. Woe betide anyone who happens to miss the 2 attempts they make at delivery. Even if you rearrange as requested, the delivery service send the box back to sky.
From then on, all you will get is continual fobbing off about it being processed for redelivery with absolutely no light at the end of the tunnel.
Oh and an average wait time of 32mins on an 0870 number!!!
This product is complete cr*p.
Hope my experiences may prove useful to others

Anyone know whether the pipex offer is new/worth a look.
£6.50 + £12.50 + £11.00 (line rental). Broadband, anytime local/national calls.0 -
I've just migrated to Primus today, they quote a 7 day lead time.
I was quoted £21.99 with a £5 a month rebate (paid quarterly, as I am already on their option 3+) = £16.99
With two months free after the 12 months. So total cost over the 14 months is £203.88, which equates to £14.56 a month!
They have confirmed it's 'upto' 8mb with no download limits, P2P and gaming are allowed!
Remember, you still pay BT £11 a month line rental.
I chose this over TalkTalk as it's effectively only £6 a month dearer.
However:
NOTE: If you leave within the first 12 months, it's like a mobile contract in the fact that you are required to pay £21.99 * (number of months left), and I doubt they would apply the rebate!
So if you wanted to leave after 6 months, be prepared to pay £131.94

I know that many folk have criticised Tiscali on this forum but the Tiscali customers that I know personally have never had any problems.
Tiscali would CPS your line but during the week you could still use 1899 and 18185 for calls. With the Free weekend calls this would effectively reduce the cost of you Broadband to less than £12.00 a month.
My brother has just signed up for this deal and is expecting to receive his modem etc in the next few days.
Just a little update on the above, my brother's Tiscali modem & filters arrived 8 days after he applied. I went over to set it up for him yesterday and found that the CD-Rom would not load onto his computer and it kept freezing. The only solution was to phone customer services on their 0870 number. I had to wait about 4 minutes to get to speak to a human being who was in India. He was very polite, knowledgeable and competent and assisted me in installing the Broadband manually from the CD-Rom. The overall call length. was about 13 minutes. All in all I felt the customer service was very good, the only drawback was having to use 0870 as opposed to a Geo number.
My brother had previously only had dial up with UW and achieved a top speed of 40 kbps so he is understandably over the moon with his new unlimited 1mbps plus free weekend phone calls and will be using 1899 for his other calls. :jIF THIS POST HAS BEEN HELPFUL - PLEASE CLICK ON THANKS :j0 -

Talktalk does a lot of mouthing but doesn't listen! While the connection wasn't too bad, the service was poor (-phone operators didn't know much & contradicted each other, & email response was erratic); their email service was crappy at the time, though it improved a little over the year.
I switched to madasafish in July: the modem arrived a day after the service was up & running (very quick, no warning & I hadn't even configured my computer, wondered where talktalk had disappeared to). Madasafish hasn't let me down once since then.
Talktalk are a pain still, though -while one department apologises & says it won't try to take any money from my account any more, another says my broadband service is at risk if I don't pay (non-existent) arrears, & they'e going to get a debt collection agency on the case & trash my credit rating. They expect me to phone their 0870 number, which I refuse to do, & don't answer emails sent to 3 billing addresses!0 -
just called virgin today re thinking of migrating. their package of 14.99 month was cut to 4.99 a month - some deal they have until end march. worth calling them to check out!0

I telephoned Primus 4 times yesterday and was talking to Grant Ross about broadband. He said he would email me all the details, terms and conditions of the contract. Although I phoned him back each time I didn't receive the email he said he would send it again. Has anyone had this problem where an email from Primus has not came into their inbox after 24 hours? I have received everyone elses emails but for some reason this is the only one I am aware of that I have not received.
I am going to try and phone him again.0
