I mean they do not answer the phones, day or night. I've called 20 times.
If you want an ISP that you cannot contact, then this is your company!
I used to be with them and phoned at 2am one morning to get support, always thought they were ok. Moved to discountadsl.co.uk a few weeks ago and touch wood can't complain :jTight fisted accountant since birth.0 -

I phoned Plusnet last night and got through to them without difficulty.
It would appear they are having a few problems at present due to high volumes of calls to their support number. This is due to a problem caused by BT on Max upgrades. Plusnet say they have put extra people on support and hope to get things back to normal soon.

I was with Waitrose.com for dial-up, but after careful consideration about broadband decided that BT were the best people, here anyway. They advised that I needed to get some sort of migration code from Waitrose (wrong!), so I talked to Waitrose, told them that I was going to BT, and said I was sorry as Waitrose had given me excellent, cheap and faultless service over the past couple of years.
The lady at Waitrose turned out to be in a callcentre in Durban, my old home town, and we got on well, so well that she offered my £2 per month discount if I stayed with Waitrose when going broadband. This was a good deal, and I am now staying with Waitrose. So it did pay to haggle/negotiate. And the free hardware arrived within 2 days. Cheers, Doug0 -

Bandwidth hogs, are like people who keep their microphone buttons held down while on air, inasofar as they do now allow access to other people.
People who wish to utilise the net more fully should pay more, and people like me, who e-mail, and surf, and who do NOT download movies, music etc, should not be constrained by those who do download these monster files, The net is a finite medium.
I would not care 2 hoots if they "throttle" the hogs.

I transferred over from Waitrose dial-up to their broadband service. It all went smoothly and now I have just been upgraded to the higher speed (I am now running at 7.6 Mbps) with a 5GB per month limit. There is a free (0800) helpline and I have no complaints at all about the service. I wish I had known about being able to haggle , but even so I am happy. It costs £18.99 a month. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Plusnet have just introduced a new broadband package for £9.99 a month. It's capped and does not have an email service. There standard packages start at £14.99.
I have reseached the broadband market recently and have decided to go with Plusnet.

A bit of advice needed for a newbie moneysaver!
I've just signed up for the tiscali broadband @ £14.99 pcm. I did this on the phone and at no point did anyone alert me to the fair usage policy - that was left up to a friend of mine. We are fairly light internet users at home, but we do use file sharing software for music, and only at peak times. I'm afraid I'm completely ignorant when they throw numbers like 30gb at me and have no idea in real terms what that means! Can anyone give me an idea in real terms about how much we can download with this restriction, and if it's not enough, am I entitled to cancel, as I was not alterted to this at the time of purchase?0
