I'm not a fussy eater and would try just about anything once... but pickled eggs - just the idea of it makes me queasy.

My suggestion... HM brocolli and stilton soup for the yolks, and coconut macaroons for the whites.

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

sorry - this may have come up before in the thread. But they can be preserved in something - the word isinglass is ringing a bell (could be thats what it is one uses - you would need to check if my memory is correct on that front;) ). I dont know where one can actually buy that these days - presumably a chemist?

I don't think it's a preservative, he sez, not being entirely sure. See...

Pickled eggs ;) This is for hard-boiled eggs.

You can, indeed, preserve fresh eggs in isinglass - that's a different procedure, though :D

Thanks Penny, but can anyone tell me what they taste like? Doesn't the yolk go all weird?

I love pickled eggs. You could buy a jar in the supermarket to see if you like them.

    Hello

I have 10 eggs that have to be used today, I did have 16 but I have already made French toast and frittata so I need to use the rest of them. Freezer recipes or things to make that would keep for a couple of days would greatly appreciated! Thank you!

A sponge cake could use about four.
