So true....always where the catch is for 'too good to be true' items. No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
Ah... my comment there was in relation to Phonebox Direct; E2Save stole their t&c about 2 months ago But Phonebox and Coolnewmobile (who USED to operate them fairly by all accounts) have quietly changed them since. In any case, it does amaze me how nearly half the population avoids cashback deals because they are "too good to be true", whilst most of the other half plough in without carefully investigating, reading and asking lots of specific questions first.
One of the downsides of this and other forums is that people are learning how to walk through the minefields (though many aren't), which is now resulting in companies laying more and bigger mines...0 -
So how is this different to anyone elses T and C's please, my last 4 years have been like that.....are there any simpler TandC's about.
Carphone Warehouses' terms are simpler. For a start, the claiming time slot is 60 days and there are generally just three claims to make. If you have online billing you can send them prints of the bills. Though why they have to have you send it in the first place is curious. Why can't these outfits accept emails?0 -
Hi have used mobileoutlet and I am coming to the 2nd to last cashback. They ussually acknowledge my letter via email and inform me that the money will be in the account within 45 days. So far so good!!0

Hi all,
I have come across a number of seemingly very good deals at Phones4u. They are offereing 11 month free line rental on a 12 month contract with Vodaphone. You get 500 xnet minutes and 500 xnet texts per month.
I have already done a search on this forum for cash back reliability and haven't really found anything that indicates how good they are in terms of paying people what they are owed. Yes I found lots of people saying their instore reputation is very bad, but that doesn't affect me at all as I'll order online.
So, has anyone had any cash back experience good or bad?
Also, as far as their claim conditions go they are no more unreasonable than dialaphone, E2Save or Mobileshop all of whom I've received cash back payments from, eventually0 -
Spunky - re Phones4u - my advice would be avoid like the plague.
Just been on the phone to them now to enquire about my first cheque since I hadn't received it within the 30 days "you should allow for the application to be processed" and they say they never got it - and that because they never got it - they say any "failed" claim invalidates all future claims!! . They blamed Royal Mail with all the strikes even though they weren't on strike when I sent it.
£150 - I have been welll and truly robbed!!!
If you did go with them - send everything by registered mail (or whatever it's called when they have to sign for receipt) on the first day of the claim and chase it up. I didn't get a certificate of posting - but even if I had done it wouldn't have done me any good because it says on the contract that "Proof of Posting will not be accepted as proof of delivery". I didn't pay much attention at the time because never in my wildest dreams did I expect them to be sitting waiting for any excuse not to pay out. No wonder they were smiling when they sold it to me.
The "allow 30 days for claim to be processed" is to increase the chance that by the time you find out they "haven't received the claim" it will be outside the claim period and then they'll keep the whole flipping lot!!!
Sure it can't be legal - will be conatacting the OFT. Total scandal.0 -
Beware of a company called Click Mobile. They offer huge cashbacks but Tmobile put a do not deal on them a few months ago and orange have in the last week.
Cashback cheques have started bouncing due to barclays freezing their account. .0 -

Avoid mobileshop.com like the plague, unless ofcourse you dont actually want the cashback you were promised. Will never use again, ended up going for the argos vouchers as i felt that the only other way to get the cashback is to take them to court.0
