I don't have time to contribute regularly and I was on here to specifically find info on Mobile Rainbow having had my first cashback and wondering if that would be a one off or not.
I have submitted my 2nd cashback claim with Mobile Rainbow (end of November) and chased them by email after 30 days and no payment into my bank account. They emailed to say they had had technical difficulties but that cashback would be paid within 20 working days. Taking Christmas and New Year into account this meant by 18 January 2007. To date (26th today) I have had no payment, have chased them by email three times and had no reply.
I was offended but am pleased to have been able to prove your cynicism wrong on this occasion, although I do understand it all the same! :rotfl:
SO I AM NOT IN FAVOUR OF MOBILE RAINBOW and am due to send them my
3rd and final cashback claim in a couple of days' time. I am not holding my breath and will avoid them like the plague in future unless my situation changes and payments are made in which case I will let you all know ... watch this space.Reestit_Mutton wrote:Hi MJMC and welcome to MSE.
I don't mean to cast aspertions but I must urge MSE members to treat a new member's word with extreme caution, especially given recent shenanigans with Mobile Rainbow and the fact that they haven't yet (in my eyes, at least) proven their ability and willingness to live up to their cashback promises.
For everyone's info, MJMC registered only today and, to date, this user's only posts are all in support of Mobile Rainbow, posted on a wide range of threads about either Mobile Rainbow or cashback generally. Alas, all too often these are classic indicators that the user is a plant, designed to falsely boost confidence in a much maligned company...I really do hope that I'm wrong in this instance.
Sorry if you feel offended by this MJMC but I'm sure you can understand that, where so much money is at stake, we really must give more weight to info supplied by long term contributors of the forums and treat users who register in order to post supportive statements with caution. It's nothing personal.
Hopefully in time you will be able to prove me wrong by becoming a much loved regular contributor to these forums as a whole.

Halaku wrote:Anyone had experience with "the mobile outlet UK"?
I am currently with Mobile Outlet, I have sent my first cashback in and am awaiting payment. I have previously used e2save.com and dialtosave and both were ok. The mobile outlet's cashback policy is quite strict and you do not get vouchers but have to send in bills 1-4 and your original dispatch note within 31? days of bill 4. I always send them recorded delivery and keep copies. However, you can register with dialtosave.com and they will send you an email reminding you when your cashback is to be sent in (even if you didn't buy your phone from them!).0 -
I personally had no problem with E2Save,and the wife has just received her first cashback from Simply3G.

Dear all
I do not know whether anyone has faced similar situation. I have taken a mobile contract with phoneboxdirect.co.uk in June 2006. The first bill to be sent for a cheque back was Oct 2006 bill. And because I was not in the UK during Oct/Nov I sent the bill as soon as I was back in the country. Due to this I could not send the bill with in one month of the bill dated.
I have received a reply letter from the company saying that I cannot claim the cash back not only for this bill but for the whole contract and that means I would be losing £360 !!.I wrote a letter explaining the reason for me not able to send the bill with in one month and was willing to provide them with the proof by sending my original passport. The company then replied it is going with the rules and cannot help me.
Hope you have understood the problem now!! Can anyone tell me whether I can do something to claim back atleast part of the cheque back or do you think I have to forego the whole amount.Any help will be highly appreciated.
Many thanks

Avoid Mobilshop.com
My Cash back is again over 100 days late and guess what sorry sir problem with our bacs systems.!!!!!
They certainly do known how to lose customers.0 -
Madhu.
While I have every sympathy for you,and your predicament,I think you'll find that they are perfectly entitled to turn you down,as you didn't adhere to their T&C's,as stated. The fact that you were out of the country at the time,is not their fault.
You have to look at it from their point of view, insofar as every Tom,!!!!!! and Harry, would claim that they were unable to claim on time, because they were doing XYZ........
While I'm not doubting your reason for not being able to claim on time,I think you'll find that every company who offer the cashback deals, would probably do the same thing.

Sadly Madhui, the reason why these firms can afford to give me my cashback is due to customers like you who either forget or are unable to submit claims in on time for whatever reason.
The more customers that fail to get heir claims in on time makes it more and more worthwhile them promoting such deals - they've clearly done their maths!
Carphone Warehouse are the only ones that allow you up to 12 weeks from the moment you get your bill to when you can make your claim - perfect for those of us that are in & out of the country during claim time.
My own experience of Phonebox Direct has been second to none with every claim (some 11 cheques) in on time.0 -

Stay away from The Mobile Outlet!
Well, I received a letter which refused my 2nd cashback claim couple of days ago. Basically they said that I didn't follow the T&C thus the cashback claim is void.
The T&C really confused me as it says that '... forward us your 11 and 12 bill, again this must be within 21 days from the date shown on each of these bills...'. As I have purchased from other online retailers and they often require one or several bills to be sent together at one cashback stage. I thought there is no exception with mobileoutlet. However, if you read it very carefully, you will understand that in order to get the cashback, you have to send 11th and 12th bill seperately and within 21 days. Even though I understood this misleading T&C, my 11th bill didn't come through until the next month, thus 21 days had already passed. I posted the 11th bill with explaination as soon as I received them and asked them not to void my claim just because something out of my control.
Then after several weeks I sent my 12th bill within 21 days. I received an email which asked me to wait 28 days for the result. Finally I got a rejection letter.
As I personally have dealt with them for more than 12 months, I have following suggestions to tell fellow members.
1. Don't buy any products and services on themobileoutlet unless you have READ and UNDERSTAND their misleading T&C at least TEN TIMES. BTW, sometimes you need to follow their new T&C, otherwise your cashback claim will be void.
2. There are no totally free mobile phones as there is £1.99 charge for every free mobile phones.
3. Don't think they will pay your quidco cashback as mine status is unpaid for more than one year and it is still in the enquiry section.
4. Their customer service is useless as you cannot discuss cashback matters on the phone. You have to write to them, even worse, they will never reply to your letter or email.
5. I would suggest you go to other reputable online retailers as their T&Cs and cashback services are much more transparent and efficient. They will at least not mislead you by asking you sending bills seperately for one cashback stage and they will respond to your email within 24 hours.
Finally I would say themobileoutlet is a non-ethical capitalistic company who will do everything to maximise their profits without caring about their customers. I personally doubt how long it will operate if they keep their way of treating customers.0 -
I am on my second phone/contract with Carphonewarehouse, and have had no significant problems to date. I have had my 1st chequeback and got all 3 from my last phone/contract. I find the rebate people very pleasant to deal with as well, as I usually call after i send a copy of my bill to confirm it has been received.
So, I can vouch for a good experience with them so far, and will no doubt stay with Carphonewarehouse when I choose my next contract.0
