If Vodafone at least tried to communicate with me in the first place, instead of giving me a giant brick wall, I would not have to go to the CAB for advice out of frustration. Contacting Otelo was based on the best advice from the CAB. I am not sure if going back to Otelo is still an viable option now.Hmnn, that is not good xxxx
I have no knowledge of Otelo since none of my customers would need to get that far since I make sure they are all happy. I know this doesn't help you right now. I wish I knew more about this so I could look.
Is there any hope of going back to these Otelo people as intermediaries?
BTW, the Trading Standards Office requested a break down for their charges. but the bills they sent do not add up. The second line that was disconnected by Vodafone, perhaps they are too ashamed to show.Vodafone sucks. :mad:0 -
You seems honest and reasonable enough. If I give you my account reference, would you be able to have a look at it? I do not expect anything miracle just a fair opinion really.I wish I knew more about this so I could look.
Vodafone has truly disappointed me. If I am not able to get an fair outcome of these matters, from now on I will advise everyone to stay as far away from Voda-evil as possible like staying away from plaques.Vodafone sucks. :mad:0 -

Contacting Otelo was based on the best advice from the CAB. Do you think in hindsight that the CAB advised you correctly when you might have got further by either coming on here first or dealing direct with customer relations? I am not sure if going back to Otelo is still an viable option now.
BTW, the Trading Standards Office requested a break down for their charges.Where did trading standards come in, did I miss a bit? but the bills they sent do not add up. Billing is one of my (many) areas of expertise. The second line that was disconnected by Vodafone, perhaps they are too ashamed to show when did this disconnection happen?.

In the hindsight, your advice perhaps make senses, but please do not forget, I am just an ordinary consumer. Not everyone knows the system so well as you.:D When things went from bad to worse in such a short period of time so quickly, who else could we turn to but the CAB?Do you think in hindsight that the CAB advised you correctly when you might have got further by either coming on here first or dealing direct with customer relations?
Now after all the hassles I have been through, Vodafone still said they are unable to review my case, do they really think it would be a better idea to have it reviewed in a court? It just does not make sense to me.Vodafone sucks. :mad:0 -
I appreciate what you are saying xxxx, I have never had any faith in the CAB to be honest. I went to see the local one some time ago and found them to be completely useless. IMO they were just a few do-gooders who were ill equipped to deal with my questions (about getting divorced so not rocket science) and I got better advice elsewhere (before the I knew about this board too).
I had a lodger last year who went to see them and they gave him duff information too.
There is a recent thread on here about Voda and someone pointed them to a forum on the Voda website which a couple of MSE'ers have used and got the help they needed. Now even I wasn't aware of the existance of that.
Cutting people's lines off and pursuing them through the courts is a very last resort normally, they would have to have exhausted all the other options first. When these routes have come to a dead end then and only then is the debt sent to a collection agency. Once things have gone that far then there will be little vodafone can do since the debt is bought by the agency and it is they who may or may not involve the courts if it cannot be settled by other means.
So have they involved the collections agency or are they still trying to sort this direct with you XXXX?

LEGALLY as a contract between Voda & their authorised 3rd party seller/retailer directly impounds you to loss, you can chase Voda in a court of law for such lossesSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

cashback sites are nothing whatsoever to do with your service provider - in this case Vodafone. if they go into administration and you wish to cancel the contract. It is like any other contract, if you cancel early you have to pay early termination fees.
By cancelling your Direct Debit and not making alternative payments you run the risk of ruining your credit record.
If you refuse to pay then you will eventually be cut off.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
You have not explained what rights Vodafone has to cut off my 2nd line while it was fully paid every month?!:DFar from being the Evil Co. the OP would have you believe, they have done everything they can and should but the OP just wanted the debt written off - so there you go, always 2 sides to a story folks.
'spirit' you would have everyone fooled to believe you are here unofficially just to help us from your heart. After I laid my trust on you, I am now beginning to think nothing is as it seems. Personally I don't think this is the place for someone from Vodafone to silence our voices.
Yep, always 2 sides to a story folks.:AVodafone sucks. :mad:0 -
If a cashback firm goes bust, You still need to pay the bills/line rental , Cancelling a direct debit is like blowing your foot off with a shotgun. Take it it will be in the hands of a DCA going by what Spirit said? Enjoy that nice default on your credit file. Vodafone done nothing wrong.0

I have to agree with spirit. Cashback has nothing to do with the network.
Any cashback is a risk and always had been.0
