Pink Winged - I agree completely, and admire you for how you are looking after Tilly. If the cat is distressed or suffering then you do what you have to, but otherwise you just do your best. I am at the start of a long road with evil cat whose kidneys are starting to go, and as long as she has some quality of life I will do all I can for her. I think Money Saving Diva is wonderful with Treacle - it must be really distressing.
There are some really lovely people on here.
I do hope Tilly finds a way to keep going.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

Even my DD3 who is 11 thought these were a bad idea.

Just sitting at home supping home made soup and feeling sorry for myself - dribbling cold, wracking cough and miserable headache. Why does a cold always feel as if it's likely to be terminal? Sorry to all those out there who have much worse ailments... <sniff>
Heating not on cos it makes me worse, olbas oil on my jumper but I can't smell it and I sometimes look like Harry Hill when he presented Top of the Pops!! I daren't say it cos it's gross... but he was very funny.
So very OS - no spending, no nothing. Just aiming to be alert enough to watch Flog It.0 -
Off to look for some ideas for the 10 rapidly blackening bananas in the fruit bowl.
I usually mash mine up and either make a banana loaf. Sometimes I can't be bothered with the baking so I mash and freeze them to use later. HTH

Afternoon chums,
snow here in North Kent so I won't be venturing out today.I was going to go to the library, but decided it can wait until tomorrow.I'm not very good on ice, and if I have a fall I don't bounce very well at my age so it would be silly.
I had to go to Sainsburys for my DD yesterday afternoon, and saw a sign of the times By the shelves that normally have the reduced stuff there were two very well-spoken and very elegantly dressed ladies arguing over a reduced item.
Lady A " I do believe this is mine"
Lady B "I think you'll find my dear, that I spotted it first"
and there they were tugging against each other over a paket of reduced mince !!!
I was in hysterics 'posh chavs' what ever next ,obviously the credit crunch is hitting the upper middle classes to be fighting over a packet of mince.
I saw nothing there that would get my juices flowing so changed my DD's stuff for her and went home. Definitely soup weather this week. I seem to eat gallons of the stuff but I do enjoy it and it does help keep me nice and warm. My son-in-law last night for a change cooked mash and bubble and squeak to go with the beef and it was really nice .He said he'd made so many roast dinners over the last two weeks he fancied a change. They used up some spare sausages for the little ones as well so it was a 'clear out the fridge' meal which was lovely .He also cooked the cauliflower with some curry powder which gave it a nice spicy flavour .For a civil engineer he is a smashing cook. He makes two different sorts of gravy ,one for the children and one for the adults which is a bit more exotic.
Well I am not going to do much today as I got all of my ironing done last night whilst watching the t.v. so its a nice relaxing day finishing off reading my John Grisham book. Hope you all have a good day and it doesn't get too cold for you.<<hugs>> to the poorlies and sad amongst us, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
take care all

Afternoon all,
Had a busy morning, hoovered through whole house, mopped kitchen and conservatory, tidied lounge, swished bathroom, I have done a small load of washing, which was all there was, and have hung it on the airer in the garden, so that I can grab it in quickly if it rains / snows, we had a snow shower earlier, but its all cleared up again now, although there is a black threatining cloud looming.
And I have completly done our bedroom, in the back of my mind I have a plan for us to move this year, so have started de-cluttering, dd's room was done last week, and ours today, I have got rid of one bag of rubbish, just things I have been holding onto just in case,
, and two bags for the charity shop, I have pulled everything from under the bed, hoovered, pulled the chest of drawers out washed the walls dowm, I have even cleaned the picture rail, so now I feel :A .
Just had a poached egg on toast for lunch, am having a cuppa, and will then prep dinner, I need to loose a few LBS, so am cutting down, no butter or crisps for me for a while, as I love both of these and eat far too many
.
Dont get me started on innapropriate childrens clothes, my dd is 14, and is not allowed heels, low tops, too short skirts, or anything with stuff written on the bum !!! they have got years to be women, let them be young girls, don't get me wrong, she is allowed to dress fashionably, but not tarty, the worst one I have ever seen was a baby's bib, with 'my mum thinks I am a B***h' written on
WHY ??
Hugs to Tilly cat, and Benny xx
Churchie, Elona, hope all goes well xx0 -
Cold but no snow here today. A bit of frost but that wasn't even too bad. It's very sunny out and I'm now aggravated that I didn't take a load of laundry to the laundrette so I could hang them outside for the day. As it's 12.30 it's not worth doing them now to try to hang them out. Maybe tomorrow.
The Christmas decs are officially taken down, packed up and put away. :T It seems like many I've talked to said they just didn't feel "christmassy" this year. I really didn't either which is a surprise to me. I usually enjoy it so much. It has been a rough year for so many with the recession, loss of loved ones, illness and all.
I have tidied the flat up and am contemplating a good dusting and hoovering. The bathroom needs cleaning so will get that done this afternoon. I still have the headache from yesterday. Not horribly bad, but enough to let you know it's there.
With fresh flour and yeast I have attempted making bread this morning. I finally understood the phrase, smooth and elastic, about the dough. The recipe I used is a slow and long rising time one. I have peeked and it has risen a bit. From my breadmaking research, I read the longer and slower the rise time, the better flavour the bread has. Praying that's true. :rotfl:
Tea tonight will be hamburgers, fried potatoes from leftover jacket potatoes and a veg or two. DH took HM bean and ham soup and a sandwich for lunch today. I need to make some more cookie dough up and bake some for his lunches this week.
We have the remains of a fruit loaf our DD made us to use up. At this point, I think I'm going to chop it up in small bites and pour hot custard and/or cream over it for our dessert tonight.
Dear furchild is giving the "the look" so I'd best take her for another walk now.
Hugs and good thoughts to those who are grieving, who are ill, have furbabies that are unwell, who are down... well hugs and good thoughts to all.

Hmm, I think it was Etam where I saw thong knix and push up bras for young girls,, not good. Even places where you think they would know better seem to push these items.
Mind you, my DD thinks my underwear is inappropriate for me. LOL! But then she wears boy-shorts style!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
