Have kind of caught up in the house. WM has been on twice and TD (ok not very old style) is on the go. Have even washed all my dusters and e-cloths. DH will be shocked.
BM is on the go - although not sure how it will turn out. This is the first loaf I have done without a bread mix.
DD is driving me demented. She asked for soup and is now refusing to eat it  .
I totally agree about the age appropriate clothes. I'm really strict about what she wears and don't like to see her in short skirts, vest style t shirts or things on the bums either - and I refuse to even look at high heels for her - she's 4 !!!! Although to be honest - dd would wear joggers and a fleece all the time. We got round this by letting her choose her clothes on a Saturday and I get to choose the rest of the week. She starts school after the summer so that will make it easier.
Off to make the casseroleSo little money - so much time :mad:0 -
Afternoon all
As I expected I went to work, hung around for 2 hours, finally gave up waiting for someone, anyone, to make a decision about what they wanted me to do & came home but I made it quite clear that I want paying for a full day as it's not my fault they are disorganised.
On the subject of inappropriate clothes, one of my DD's is so small & slim she still has some Mr Men knickers from when she was 8. When she was 13/14ish Etams was the only place I could get her clothes to wear that weren't too frilly & babyish, but even then I used to say, 'You wouldn't be wearing these if you really were 6!'
Have a good afternoon.
Hugs Hester

Brr, cold here - snow on the ground meant wearing my walking boots and trousers to work and changing here. Like many others I made porridge for breakfast!
Had quite a productive weekend - took down the decs and we finished decorating the study. I also started weeding the paperwork (I shredded 20 years of DH's payslips, keeping just the last 2 years). He's not happy being such a hoarder but I keep telling him it's not fair on the children if they have to wade through all this rubbish when we die - although hopefully we'll have a good few years yet.
Hope to continue that this week but I get a bit tired working fulltime and only seem to manage cooking a meal after work. As a result I've got new cleaners starting tomorrow (hangs head in shame) I know it's not very OS but otherwise I spend all my weekends catching up with housework and washing and ironing.
Hugs to Chruchmouse and PenPin, hope you feel better soon.0 -

Brokenwings - I have exactly the same problem with worrying at night, but I have had some success in fantasy decorating - just trying to work out how much wallpaper, paint, curtain material etc in my head. It has been remarkably successful. As I am now absolutely desperate to move, I have been also planning theoretical houses. I rarely get beyond the first room before I am asleep. If I can concentrate on it and not all the silly things running around in my head
Hugs to all.
i might have to try that tonight sybil
i am sitting here now getting all silly cross and upset because in the field out back of me two teen sons of local farmer are shooting pigeons
now i am not a softy towny - grew up on a farm myself and i am deffo not veggie BUT
they have this thing thats like a fake pigeon flying round on a wheel that tempts others to come down and join it
and they then just clump all the dead ones ( must be 20 by now ) into a pile and leave them in the hedgrow for the fox or whatever
so its pure sport - and well -- grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
i should shuttup lol0 -
Hi all, back to normal-DH and DS2 have gone off to work-though at the mo they only have a couple of weeks worth(self emp.builders)so hope something turns up.I got a lift into town, wanted to spend my M&S voucher, but still havent seen anything I want,I bet I end up using it for food! Didnt see anything elsewhere either, apart from a charity shop where I got 2 jumpers and 6 gardening/grow your own mags.
I got the decs down and back up in the loft, and DH got the floors swept and mopped ,just need to do bathrooms and tidy round now-not too bad.
I have been reading the mince thread for ideas as thats whats out for tea, along with some chips I left out of the freezer by accident.
I need to load the baskets up with logs inside, brrr, but best to do it before any rain.Right best get cracking again.
Hugs to those in need xx
Brokenwings-poor you having to watch that.Prob they are being a nuisance if numbers are great, but not nice seeing it (I am a softy!):heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Pink I am so so sorry to hear about poor Tilly. I hope her dribbling resolves. You did make me laugh as I got a visual of this poor wee lad being dragged to shut school gates

Good luck on your laptop hunt Pippa, it would be bad if you were missing from the daily thread
On the subject of kid's clothes. I think I have turned into an old fashioned prude. It genuinely shocks me to see what some folks dress their little girls in. I was at the panto the other night with my neice's wee girl and there was a teeny girl no more than 7 with hotpants and a t-shirt that said I'm a !!!!!, just try me and I am positive that I saw the outlines of a bra underneath. I don't see how some young mums think that is pretty or appropriate.
Moan over now

Went quite ok at the hospital, thanks for all the well wishes. Consultant doesn't think that it is anything other than the rheumatoid arthritis and hyper mobility and that the pre-christmas bout of nasty symptoms was nothing more than a viral jib... Am as chuffed as you can be, however, they will do more tests, it took me forever to get into the system now that I am in I feel often like a lab rat... tests, tests, tests. I wonder if they sell my blood on...now here's a thought.0

OMG Mudge a bra at 7???? I am fairly certain I was well into my 20s and 30 before I had anything to put in one. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

Brokenwings - that would upset me very much. You see, I can perfectly understand a farmer going after a fox with a gun, especially after said fox had been in the hen house. But I cannot understand hunting with hounds. And what you are describing does not sound like sport - they should get themselves an Xbox. Though I do have to say that I think pigeons are such a nuisance.
Well, first day of my new year resolutions has been rather disappointing, but I have got some washing on and sorted out fancy food from the vet for evil cat. Last night I lied to my sister in law and told her that her Christmas gift to me is lovely. I can't even donate it as dear heart wants to use the box.
Also dear heart tried my home made ginger vodka. I took a small bottle of vodka and put some chopped fresh ginger in it with some sugar. He said it tasted very potent, which is odd because the alcohol content will not have altered. However it tastes suitably medicinal so will be prescribed for colds. At his insistance. I shall have to search him for snuff.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
