...... Oh, and we've just been invited for a meal to help celebrate my friend's little bro's 18th birthday in a fortnight. Any ideas for a present??

How about a nice pen? I was given one for my 18th and still use it now. A really nice present.

Well aren't we little chatter boxes today. :D I sort of sped through the thread. :o Didn't get a chance to come on last night. I went to Bingo. :D DD & I went when she was here for a bit of fun. DH was in the yard yesterday watering when lady up the road sung out that she'd pick me up on the way. Cue: rushed tea & shower. Looks like it's going to be weekly event. I won once. ;)

Thanks for enquiring about Benny. He had his op and the vet rang to say there were no complications. She's going to bring him back in her boat tonight. So it saves me making the trip. I'm off shopping this morning. Of course it's boiling hot today. I'll be a puddle before I even get to the jetty.

Elona How did the house viewing go?
DGalThat sounds like a lot of hard work. Have you had your thyroid checked as it can cause a lot of the symptoms you describe?
Undercover AngelWe all have days like that. I hope tomorrow brings a bit of virtual :D sunshine. I can give you some of the real stuff.

<hugs> to those not well etc. I better go and do the brekky dishes and venture outside in the blazing heat. :D Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Hi everyone

Undercover Angel - what you are feeling isn't right. Is it the job that is making you unhappy or an individual? Could you maybe look at getting a transfer? As for dropping down from manager, it may be for the best. Did you feel this way when you were on the lower grade or is it something that has come on with the responsibility of the managers job? Can you write a for and against list and see what weighs up better? I worked full-time a few years ago in a stressful job and dropped down to part-time. Yes the money dropped, but if you earn less, you get taxed less and more to the point, you cut your cloth accordingly. My DH has this saying "what price quality of life" and I think he is right.

EssexHebridean - Good luck with the tv free night tomorrow. I can take it or leave it myself, with the exception of The Bill, Brothers and Sister and CSI. Then you have no chance of getting any sense out of me.

Finally went and placed the Mr T order and got that out of the way. DH persuaded me to go and play free bingo at a hall near to us. DH won the grand total of ..................£9 but at least it is in our pockets and not theirs hey. Was two numbers away from £3000. Oooh if only, if only, if only...
I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.

We got a message from the estate agents that the couple were interested in our house and were going to discuss things - mentioned there was work to do on the house, but we have already done the expensive things like rewiring, replacing boiler, double glazed doors and windows and spent a lot repairing the victorian floor tiles in the hall. Prepared for a really low offer now but will see what happens.

Had a round trip of nearly 200 miles for family funeral and picked up DD who was travelling from Newcastle. Other DD came up from Oxford. I was so pleased all six of us were able to be there as a family and proud of how supportive and helpful they were.

By the time we had dropped off two DDs at two different railway stations and got home it was 7p.m. and we were shattered.

Going to have an early night and hugs to all who need one.

Hello. Today has been quiet. Not very OS but I had the cleaner in today. I would like to get to the stage where I don't need a cleaner.
I've finally defrosted the freezers and written an inventory. Idea is to live on what we have got before doing another major shop.
My cat has come to join me. He smells like a bonfire. My eldest has put him on a diet as she says he's getting a bit chubby. I don't think he has a weight problem; so I'll give him a little biscuit to last him to morning.
Sorry, I've only had time to skim the thread but to all those under the weather and having a hard time my thoughts and prayers are with you.

  • Rage in Eden they must think it works if they do it all the time. I shall check the humidity tomorrow and hang my washing out and report back.

No I think they might just be lazy - after all they did have their old freezer and computer chair shoved into our mutual privet for the best part of six months.......;)
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D
